  • super documentary video ! ! !

    Thanks !

  • Great to some video of what my father was dealing with in the Leyte Gulf as part of Kincade's squadron. I'm going to Philie on Thursday and will do a tour of Adm. Halsey flagship, the USS New Jersey. Really good to get some background. He was on the "Lucky Lou", a heavy crusier (CA-28). It got hit a couple of times by kamikazies but survived. My dad did also, he was just minutes away from getting incinterated by a suicide Zero at his duty station. He finished his 12 hour shift and BLAM!

  • My father built some of those "Jeep" carriers as a welder at Kaiser Shipyards in Vancouver, Washington as a welder in 1943. He was only 16 when he got there, he lied about his age, you had to be 17 to work there. He died in 2001 from emphysema from inhaling wekding smoke: he never wore a respirator when he should have.

  • His Name was Dewain Clark.

  • cool vid man

finally somebody who gives a good war documentary

    >:^)
