very nice project , btw detroit plans on selling parts for the 453 diesels for another 20 years, just saw it on one of the factory sites. keep up the good work your motor sounds good !

Grigg3 is a 'friend' of mine..... guys a smart cat and has given me TONS of advice on the build.....
As far as a detroit..... I didn't have the room nor wanted the in-availability of parts for a 453 motor......all the replacement parts on this engine are right from NAPA from a 91 Dodge Ram.... (It just doesnt have the rear 2 cylinders of the 6BT...otherwise the exact same...water pumps, lift pumps etc etc)

Nice! Is the 5spd out of a 1ton ford different than the ones I have seen, where the 5th gear is a overdrive that should not be pulled with? That should be sweet!

all five speeds that dont have granny gear, 5th is overdrive, and u can pull with it on the road without a problem. the tranny he is using is a ZF5 speed
