I've been watching this video since 2009, maybe much earlier...I knew it (style) was very unique, very forward/aggressive, and very different from the other crew members (that's why I loved it) but it (his licks) just kept alluding me...the comments really made a difference (helped me to home in on it). As a drummer, I'm completely intimidated and frustrated when I see these Gospel guys play. I feel like I have to work twice as hard to be half as good at the insrument. These crazy combos they do - the constant funkiness of the grooves they play. I just don't see your average white drummer doing any of this stuff. Just being honest.

It makes me want to give up. These guys are just more talented than me.

@RCRhythm i think these random ass gospel drummers that are popping up now could probably outplay just about any professional drummer, even someone like Neil Peart or Steve Gadd. you have to keep in mind that they've been learning to make music in church since they were little kids. they just straight up have more practice.
