  • Great vid!

  • Strut, strut, motherfucking electric mama screamin' strut!!

  • A++---------excellent!!!!

    Loved this!

    Thanks.

  • That was COOL!

  • This is super awesome! Great job--the editing cuts are SUPERB!

  • WORD. Hahah!

  • Radiates Greatness!! I sense Mr Cagney would have loved this//

  • I wish you had done more of his fight seens. He was so good at fake-punching people in the face and it would have been so appropriate for this song lol

  • @TurnerClassicMissy

I did actually! I made a whole separate video dedicated just to him slapping and punching people. Search for "James Cagney Slapoff Smackoff".

  • I'm a die-hard Cagney fan. Absolutely loved this vid. Thank you!

  • This is great! The music and images just flow so effortlessly, and you can't beat Cagney, period! Great stuff!!!

  • Love James Cagney and your videos!

  • that was GREAT!!!! LMFAO!!!

  • hello its the SURF PUNKS .... AS in dennis dragon who toured with the beach boys off there ... lp Called

    Oh No! Not Them Again!

get the info right dudes lol

  • Wow ! GREAT video syncing !

  • I enjoyed this a lot. James Cagney was a great dancer. I didn't appreciate him much when I was younger but really enjoy reminiscing with these You Tube videos. Very good work!

  • Fantastic, Melanie, fantastic! Perfect!!

  • Damn, Melanie, that's outstanding!!

  • I wonder if Cagney liked rock music at all. I kinda doubt it. Few people of his generation had the aptitude to understand it. Still, Cagney had such a fantastic sense of rhythm that I think he probably had more of a chance of digging rock than most people his age. Maybe he liked some of the tame, early rock. I'm pretty sure tho that he'd hate the music on this video. That's what makes this video all the more amusing.

  • Clever! I like it! Nice synch with Cagney's mannerisms and dance.

  • Very well done!!

  • Never heard this record - pretty good.

  • Jimmie cagney Himself would have loved your montage, He was all energy, one of thetop 10 actors , and videos like this keep his wor fresh to new fans. very good work.

  • You start to see the energy that Burt Lancaster must have absorbed ..almost two of a kind....come to think of it...with Burt's skills, I'm surprised he never took up dancing.

  • Thanks for bringing joy to me as I love James Cagney and the music too!

  • This version is by the misfits :)

  • No it's not. It's by Surf Punks.

  • @tamagotchipeace lol it sounds nothing like the misfits...

  • Great editing, Melanie! Well done, man :)

  • Great video. Thanks a million.

  • Cool video. I'm a huge fan of Cagney's so this was a natural delight =]

  • You Inspired me , So I created and sent you a Video response also Called Mr.TurnKey vs Mr.Cagney with a Cameo by Mr.Tom Neal .

  • Excellent! I've always been an old-movie fan, especially a Cagney fan, what you've done here is brilliant, thanks!

  • Terrific, great fun!

  • Absolutely mind blowing amazing! Great band, too, but just curious: was there a legal problem using The Sweet version?

  • Actually, the song was suggested to me by a friend, and he didn't mention who sang it, and I had never heard of it, so when I went to download it, this version and the Sweet version came up. I didn't know theirs was the original and I actually liked this one better for it's pace for the video I was making. So that's why! :)

  • this one sounds like weird al to me

I prefer the sweet's version and I don't know if they wrote but it was never recorded prior to them doing so...

  • Beautiful. Favorited.

  • Loved this, thanks!

  • Dazzling video! What a way to kick-start the day, or just chase the blues away.

    That little hobbit can dance!

  • So bizarre and yet so cute :)

  • this is so BRILLIANTfantasticAMAZING WOW*****

  • There's no words for the awesomeness that is this video!

  • The editing in this is really impressive. I love this so much I watch it all the time. THANK YOU! Oh, and thank Alan too!!

  • Why film will never be the same, there will always be actors and movies, but there will never be a Cagney, Bogart, Bette, Joan and Stanwyck, cary grant, fred & ginger gary cooper, to name a few, these guys were smply the best, and today, no character actors like, andy devine, james gleason, henry travers, beulah bondi, margaret dumont S Z Sakall, frank mchugh ans alan jenkins to name a few, it breaks my heart that these are all gone and this period in film, is realy film history.

  • Very nicely done. You have talent.

  • Oh, this is well done. Highly enjoyable. Thanks!

  • Nice job!

  • James Cagney is such a cutie - absolutely love him. Great video :)

  • way cool

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • O-M-G!!!!!! I would give this a MILLION stars if I could!!

  • Yes, he's very hot...yum lol

  • That was great. Damn, he's hot.

  • Man, Cagney can dance. This is honest true dancing. A lot of that stuff these days, while sultry and oh so tempting (especially that carribean flair) is not real Dancing. This is.

  • That was fabulous!!!! Great Video!

  • When Cagney dies in Angels with Dirty Faces I remember I was glad no one was home that day so my parents couldn't see me crying.

  • Cagney was so versatile. He played a gangster, a hoofer, a tough guy and a very soft and tender side in one of my favorite movies City for Conquest where he played a truck driver turned boxer for love of a woman ( Ann Sheridan ) A really great performance by Cagney. Loved him in all genres. Thanks for this posting. I enjoyed it very much.

  • Well done. Nothing else to say. Well done.

  • I'm a big Cagney fan. I made it a point a few years ago to watch or re-watch all forty-five (or so) movies that Cagney made starting with Sinners' Holiday in 1930 and ending with White Heat in 1949. I have to say this video is just amazing. Only one phrase can fairly describe it: It's top of the world, top of the world!

  • Is this the one where he gets blown up on a gas tank?

  • The One Were He Gets Blown Up Is "White Heat" 1949 It's The Final Scene

Were He Shouts: MADE IT MA! TOP OF THE WORLD......BOOOOOOOM

    Classic Scene

  • OK this kicks major fuckin ass!!!!

  • man that was the best video.Girl you are good.I don't know how you did it,but I'm glad you did.

  • I love Cagney! Very well done!

  • This is fabulous! James Cagney was a great (and underrated actor). The scene in "Angels With Dirty faces" where they strap him into the electric chair runs chills down my spine every time.

  • "Are you ready, Jerry?" *FATHER JERRY*

    Lmao. Oh it's wonderful.

  • Heeee! Yay! You are the first to have noticed that! Or at least MENTIONED it. I was hoping someone would. :)

  • MORE!!! MORE!!!!

  • I am totally blown away by this. It's truly awesome!

  • Wow. I truly think that I'm in love with you now!

  • kudos to you! my granpa's gonna love this!
