Those two tanks on the back are actually air tanks that I converted to hold the hydraulic oil. The oil reservoir is so large because there isn't an oil cooler in the system. The extra large quantity of oil helps keep the hydraulic fluid from getting to hot. Like you said, the weight also helps offset the loader. Thanks for the comments.
looks like a neat little machine, have u thought about getting some ag tires? would get better traction. you should beable to find them to fit 15 or 16in rims

Those appear to be old propane bottle you have on the back.Are they filled with sand for weight?

Chains. All you need for better traction in snow is chains on the drive wheels.
