So what is the proper sequence, adjust the saddle height first using the Goniometer and then use the plumb line the adjust the saddle forward/backward or vice versa?
@DV8hc its not JUST your height...not all people are perfectly proportionate..has to do with ground to crotch, ground to hips, and armspan, and all other kinds of stuff. im not an expert so i dont want to give you bogus advice, but its way more than just height.
Thank you... it's really surprising how micro these adjustments are when you are putting on miles and climbing... I think I've almost got it dialed in.

When I get a bike, I fit myself over time until I find my optimal comfort position. I've never found any use of having it done. Your body tells you what it wants.

Most likely, his cleat is forcing his foot to point either inward or outward. Remove the cleat from his shoe, and put 3 layers of duct tape over the bottom of the shoe where the cleat would normally be, and let him ride around a little bit. Where the indentation is left, is where the cleat best fits. Easiest way to find fit on SPD pedals.

This is just poor advice.
There is no relevance to KOP. Your fore/aft should balance you on the bike. For me that is 2 cm behind KOP.
