hope you enjoy the album - I dont think any of the pieces are easy bu with some time and detrmination Im sure you will have them worked out - hav a smashing christmas - Johnson
@johnsonhogg Thanks, I actually got the physical copy for Christmas so I could get the tabs. You're right about it taking a lot of practice. I do have a decent fingerstyle foundation but it is still a challenge. I know I'll get it, I just have to practice every day! Many thanks!
search - amazon or stefan grossman guitar workshop - type - " Famous ragtime guitar solo's" - the CD will have the tablature with it in file format for computer - good luck - Johnson
My skills of sound and recording are very poor - i use a basic video camera and an edirol recorder. The pick up is a very old thing and the amp I have is for electric guitar not acoustic. i bring it together using Vegas platinum program on the computer. I know nothing about mic's sorry. Johnson
Fantastic. I recently bought the Ton Van Bergyck CD and it was a real treat to see someone do such a great job actually playing one of those monstrous arrangements. I'd love to see you do Ton's arrangement of Silver Swan. Thanks for posting those vids.
Thanks for your comment but I have the feeling that I need to put some of my own stuff on now, I will come back to TVB and Lasse Johansson in a few months.
Truly outstanding playing! The 3rd section is VERY difficult to play smoothly, but you nailed it! I had some of those Kicking Mule records/TAB by Ton Van Bergeyk, including Famous Ragtime Guitar Solos, and learned to play some of the pieces including Grizzly Bear and Smokey Mokes. (I couldn't play them now even if you put a gun to my head!) My favorite is Pineapple Rag-do you play it? Watching your right hand, it looks like you have a classical guitar background. Great work -- please post more!
well..thank u so much..I'm looking particularly for the tab of the the tvb's arrangement of junk man rag, which song is the first track of the LP titled "guitar instrumentals to tickle you fingers"...I think that his is the best guitar arrangement of that ragtime...let me know if you can help me to find that tablature..thank u

Amazing playing my friend. I would much rather hear a mic in front of that nice looking Yamaha though, and no verb too, but that's just me maybe!

@kerrykrishna Hi, you mean a mic instead of a pick-up? I'm new to the acoustic and i have been thinking about amplification....any tips?

Very Impressive. Ton had a particular difficult manner to arrange the tunes, and you make them clear, with the right feelings, without any error.
You have a great patience.

Can you do TVB I got Rhythm or The Fabulous Rosina?
pistolschlapper 3 years ago 2
I gave up with Kicking Mule in 1980 and have what I have.
I dont have and havent heard the I got Rhythm album. I will put some unavailable TVB stuff on at regular intervals though.
johnsonhogg 3 years ago
Got Rhythm and Cat & Dog may have been TVB's
most difficult arrangements. He did them, that is right - and we like them, which is
what makes it right. Real music. Rare stuff.

Hi, that's great! Do you know where I can find some TVB tabs?...

Bravo! I've been playing this since 1975 when
TVB did it on vinyl. But never took time to
get it clear. Here, you have done this. And
it is some of the greatest music of all time!
Bravo! Now, do TVB's Blue Monk arrangement
and I shall fall at your feet!
