This is probably the most famous of the 1980s Berenstain Bears series of the 1980s (it was also the FIRST episode.) It was most likely due to Mama getting all aggressive!
If the cubs didn't have shelves or a toybox or lessons in organization, how did Mama expect them to know what to do, or where the mess would go? She seems pretty unreasonable to me...I see what she means, and why, but sometimes you have to do the work of teaching kids *how* to do things before they can just do it themselves...still, kind of a fun episode! I hadn't seen these old ones until today...
If this were the newer series, Mama would barely raise her voice, let alone threaten the kids like that. Maybe give them a stern look of disappointment.
I remember watching this in 2004 on VHS at my school and I would say the most memerable part was when Mama got the "trash" box and started throwing stuff away and Papa came in. I saw it being more violent because I was like 7 years old and I did'nt know "real" violence unitl I was 12.

Dude, I saw this when I was a kid. For some reason the "mama's on the warpath" quote stuck in my head...and its like the first quote in this video. Crazy.
Greatest. Mother. EVER.

And that's why this one's more fun to watch.
