I wish they still made music like this now a days.. it's all turned into crap.. -.-

Ahhh.. i just love this (: Do do do do do. <333

    Amazing.. just amazing.

No words can quite explain the feeling you get when you listen to this music.. words aren't enough.. it's like you need to make your own song to explain it all.. :P

  • If there ever was a "lost classic" its this song.

  • I love the voices and the sweet Jazz guitar.

  • Beautiful guitar work and the group vocals are spine chilling. Too bad nobody makes music like this these days. Modern music totally sucks but Thank God, we have the past to fill our souls. R.I.SP Rest in Sweet Peace Nesta. Your music is always in the hearts and minds of those who truly care about humanity.

  • @beachguitar123 I totally agree this song is amazing. But i respectfully disagree with your next statement. There is tons of great music still coming out. The radio doesnt represent all modern music.

  • I believe this song was inspired by Impression´s "I´m so proud"

  • won't stop to listen this tune!

  • The backing band was the skatalites, Ernest Ranglin and Jerome Hines are credited for playin guitars

  • Jah! wiked tune this brings happiness to my soul right now to hear a song that relates to me and so true, in my opinion the best music artist and prophet there was.

Wat a sweet song R.I.P Bobby we all love and miss you very much always my favourite anytime over any of this garbage in todays music can't be replaced Jah bless everyone, live, respect and love eachother!!!

  • what the heck man in the song " all in one " bob marley sings this song and when i try to find it . this fruit cake is singing it!!!!

  • @elchingon755 'All in one' is meant to be a compilation of other songs. This is the original.

  • @elchingon755 "this fruit cake" was the best singer the wailers ever had, bob said so himself.

  • Ernest Ranglin is the guitarist:as per Andrew Tosh.

  • If you can change audio tones on your computer like powerful, live, club, etc, try it. Listen to the piano buried in. Its beautiful.

  • i reckon this is my favourite song ever i guess its because marley conveys the sense of hurt and sadness through his voice

  • You are automatically my YouTube friends for having such excellent musical tastes

  • is there a version by bob

  • ahhh the perfect timing on the guitar is blowing my mind!!!

  • at 1:09 you can hear very very quiet backround piano and its in the whole song scattered throgh that section

  • @mikediac it's all about the details eh hahaha.

  • Comment removed

  • i thank good art

  • I love the guitar work in this song. But I can't hear the piano.

  • That's due to the fact that there's none, only the rich self-sufficing guitar of Ernie Ranglin, bass drums and a touch of organ in the background,

  • thanks :-) for uploading this, classic!

  • Then again, i stand corrected on Hurts To Be alone. Bob wrote it, the pitch was high, so they made Junior sing it. However, Bob was one of the original founding member of Wailers. Then after a time, he went to live in Delaware with his mom Cedella Booker to learn Welding.

  • maybe i went overboard, all i was trying to prove to some brethren that Bob did not lead sing that song it was junior

  • Bob is not in that song. It was Junior Braitwait. Bob left for the Us to study welding then it was Junior/Bunny/Peter and i think Dream Walker. Thery reside in Trench Town behing a firebrage station that was infront of a cemetry. Bob house was a one room shack, we use to sit under the plum tree just after simmer down was made. At thit time no one had locks, or even played a instruement.

  • down to US overrated MTV, VH1 and Bullcrap Hollywood... GIVE UP FOR THE REAL ART

  • : )

  • nittynitnitty:

    my thoukhts exactly.

  • (from wiki) Ernest Ranglin O.D. (born June 19, 1932 in Manchester, Jamaica) is a Jamaican guitarist and composer. Best known for his session work at the famed Studio One, Ranglin helped give birth to the ska genre in the late 1950s. Some credit Ranglin with the invention of the core style of guitar play (sometimes known as "scratching") found in nearly all ska music.

  • @ah33304 Lyn Taitt I feel was more instrumental in shaping Rock steady and Reggae

  • nittynitnitty

I love this song even more after reading your post

  • The vocals are great and everything, but i listen to this song because of the guitar. my favorite guitar song ever! can anyone else hear the piano buried in the mix? and the strings during the solos? My friend asked me who my favorite guitar player, before i even knew it was ernest ranklin is just said "either jimi hendrix or the guy who plays on it hurts to be alone"

  • Thanks for your comment!

  • I hear organ not piano, Who says there is any piano?

  • it is buried in the mix but you can hear it especially between 34 and 42 seconds

  • @nittynitnitty right

  • @nittynitnitty I asked the same question before about the piano in the mix. There is a piano solo played in there, I can't even hear it either. But I like the guitar playing.

  • @nittynitnitty

listen to how ernest plays at the last like 5-10 seconds of "old rocking chair" by jackie opel. unbelievable

  • @nittynitnitty

You still didn't get it right. It's Ernest Ranglin not Ranklin

  • thats my late uncle junior braithwaite who was killed in 1999 the only reason he left the group cause my great grandfather felt that he was to young to get caught up with all that fame so he took him out he was only 13

  • wow man. I discovered, and have been listening to this song for the past two months straight. I thought it was a woman singing the whole time.. not being offensive, but just the way he sounds just sounds so formed and talented, my mind just pictured this young up and coming lady in her late 20's and its such an instant classic sounding song.. the vocal was the thing that had me hooked and listening over and over again.

  • well,i think it was bunny livingstone at the voice...am i wrong?he was very young

  • junior braithwaite on lead, bunny and bob were backing up. this is one of the best songs i've heard them do, and i've heard about all of them.

  • My friend Bob was not a part of the group yet, it was Jnr,Peter,2 ladies and Bunny they were called the WAILIING WAILERS.

  • @loveroy1000 R u crazy dute, Bow is a original founder on the Wailers. How can u say he was not a part of the group from the start. The only time Bob lest the group was when he migrated to Delaware with his mom to learn welding. Thats when Junior Bratwait becomes the leader. Bob/Bunny/Peter is the sole founding members of the Wailing Wailers. Junior/Dream Walker/etc, was fillers. So chill

  • @loveroy1000 U dont know what u talking about. Junior was the youngest member in the group, he was only 14 or 15, so he could not have been in the groupe before Bob. I was there when it all started and i can proove it. at that time we did not even own a camera. Bob had no car, Bunny use to reside next door to me on Waltham park road, Peter use to ride a bicycle with no brakes or light. His woman was Shirley, Bunny Wailer sister, Andrew Tosh Mother.

  • @loveroy1000 I am sure u will correct the typos to me. Junior only lead one song. Hurts to be alone. Junior came in wailers after Bob/Bunny/Peter. Then he left to go study medicen in the us, got messed up, came back to JA and got mixed up and shot. Downbeat was on Brentford Road, close to Cross road/Carib Cinema. In the front yard therw was a black mango tree. Beat use to drive a dark blueChevvy Malibu,BB Seaton from Gaylads use to do the audition..

  • @loveroy1000 Ranglin is good! However, Lyn Tait was a bad ass Trini who use to live in Ja and he was wicked. Ranglin was more classical/Jazz. Yo, i am sure u will correct all the TYPOSSSSSSSSSSSS for me. Rightttttt? Bow was always a part of the group from day 1. He started Wailers, with Bunny/Peter. Go to my myspace page u see me and Bunny with grammys. I was at one time Bunny Wailer manager for his musical affairs/artistry. Check it. Then It was me Sly Dunbar (Sly & Robbie).

  • jr.

  • is that constantine walker or junior braithwaite on the vocals ?

  • the best voice the wailers ever had, murdered exactly ten years ago. dead but not forgotten

  • w0w0w33w0w

  • Its not mr. tosh??

  • Love this tune, guitar is good!

  • Ernest Ranglin, I think...

  • I believe its Ernest Ranglin on Lead guitar

  • Not surprisingly, it's Ernest Ranglin. Also it's not his original sound track

  • haven't heard this in years! gorgeous song

  • incredible :)

  • song is soooo good!
