  • Hi I just bought the same machine...With the knob where the stitch regulator should be. I have regulated the stitch, but where and how is the reverse to back tack....

  • also...i was looking at various attachments on line that i see will fit this machines bar... can it zig zag, button hole blind stitch, walking stitch or anything at all with attachments? i was given this machine it has been serviced recently. i want to get it up to its best possble usefulness.

  • @bavariantart ???, & ?. I think you will be limited to straight stitch only. But... Suggest you search online at the Singer website. I found they have a couple original owner's manuals (complete cover-to-cover) in PDF format that should be most useful for answering your questions regarding vintage machines of this era. Good luck & happy sewing.

  • good so it is a manual reverse, ok.....now i wonder what the knob under the bobbin winder is? also what does the sort of scew type knob at the top above the head do? it appears to crank the foot down tighter or looser. And lastly the thumb screw on the plate at the bottom... does this do anything? i wonder is there a sticth length adjuster for basting? thank you.

  • No, it hasn't got reverse.

  • How do you do a reverse stitch on this machine? I have this exact machine and I am clueless as to how to do a reverse stitch. I downloaded a manual and everything.

  • @arosebud83 You stop the machine. And run the handwheel backwards manually. These old machines didn't have a reverse at all.
