Railfanning in the Fraser River Canyon

Where did you drive when filming the trains, HW1? East or westbound? I was visiting the area last year, i really loved it there.

Yes this part is near Chilliwak about 30 or km east of there.

If you are driving eastward and have the train on your right side, it must be the Lougheed HW on the north side of Fraser river, is that right? Very nice vids by the way.

Really cool stuff, especially pacing that GEVO, and you the way you caught it going into db as it was coming into those turns just west of Hope.

what exatly is railfanning ? Is it like standing near a train when it goes by ? I use to crazy sheit like that when iwas a kid grew up near tracks

Yep. Railroaders call them Train buffs or Foamers... For some, trains are more important than other things in life. Most of them don't waste money, are single or divorced cause trains are more important.

Great video! I would say the SD50Fs are way better then the GEVOs. I get way to many GEVOs on the CP.

@trainlord11 I agree I will take an older SD50F over a GEVO any day although I do like those whistles found on alot of the new GEVOs a very authortative sound but I go for the older power anyday
