absolutely right. A German was building one together with the original Audi-Crew wich was building the S1 in the past. They did the same, shortened a urquattro. I think they did that because there are only a few factory shortened roadversions left.
Hello, I piloted a S1 when was younger. This car is a legend. Congratulations to you for your wonderful and fabulous job. What great passion you have ! thank you to keep it alive. Long road!
@wobiste hello/ bonjour! can you please tell me the name of the music you had in here before it was taken away i really liked that! amazing build of an amazing car 120/100!!
haha very truee but i wouldent wana drive arond in a replica that isent even the origional model of the car haha, and after all the hours he wasted to make it look similar to a quattro never mind a evo of it, doesent seem worth it ....... its like people that have toyota mr2's and buy kits to make them look like ferraris, they are just kidding them selves, but personal oppinion haha, he did a nice job in the end at least.
the only real difference is that the coupe is FWD and the "urquattro" is 4WD and turbocharged. and the work thats needed to be done to convert a coupe to a quattro is minimal compared to building a real quattro to a S1...
you shure know that only 23 audi s1 e2 exist in the world. Tis is a replica, and is a really good one.Note that the front glass inclination is the correct one ( audi 80), and note that the transmission is the same of the sport quattro s1.this replica is very near to the original, even in the engine that had about 500 bhp.
excuse me idiocy? and envyous? you are a moron to put it simply... i dont get my jollys hearing what people have to say on youtube or say things for shits and giggles, i just wondered why he did all the work to a coupee rather than a quattro.... and that was answerd so quite simply.... get a life...
first what cames out from your comment is not nice, second your question shows that you don't know at all the history of Audi S1 and Audi Quattro in general.
the work of that guys is simply a perfet mechanical exercise, qith a wonderful outcome.
this guy is the master builder. corporations cannot (or simply dont) turn out work of this quality and heres a guy using innovation and nothing but grit (ok and some money too) to produce not only one of the best s1 reps, but one of the best cars i have ever seen.ever. fascinating insight into the hours of work that went into this.this guy should replace the teams on pimp my ride/oc choppers ect+do all the work himself,in half the time+probably do it a lot nicer.he should be on a million a year!
This is a replica all through, but he did look at a original as he buildt it, for measurements and things. But that original S1 is not shown in this vid...
Awesome job! Some european mechanics are masters in splitting cars in half and welding them back together. I have seen a car that had the rear half of an old Fiat UNO and the front half of a new Fiat UNO.
It's basic geometrics, you measure and measure again before doing the final welding, get this right and it goes in a straight line, seam weld it and it won't fall apart ever, it's stronger at these welds than at any original spot weld in the car, it's a myth that any car thats been cut in two is weaker than the original was,,, as long as it's done correct.
anyone who can pull this off is a MASTER in building cars because this is one of the HARDEST things i have ever seen done especially with splitting the car in half and welding it back together. i wonder how can you be sure that thing will drive in a straight line after you welded it back together and wont break in half after a collision? does anyone know?
this guy is a true audi fan.check out the audi in the yard at 0.35,what a sweet car.i knew a guy in manchester had an original short quattro.i fitted some red mudflaps to it one day when he was rallying his 6r4.love them cars.i cant believe the dedication and hard tedious work going into this project.i wish you could post the whole rebuild on here, love to see more of it.thanks great job.

Great build but wouldn't it of made more sense to paint the roll cage in the car since you painted the whole thing. Just an idea.

why dident he just chop a quattro to start with? would have been alot easier, seems he just made more work for himself?
MattGilmore1 2 years ago
because a regular coupe costs about 10% of what a real quattro.

Audi GT Coupe also has a Quattro version, very rare though.
mupp33n 2 years ago
still it wont matter in the end since he probably had to rebuild the whole driveline and suspension to fit with the shortened chassi.
