  • The tune of this is the same as the tune of (the verse parts of) "Whiskey in the Jar". (Knew there was some reason this sounded familiar when I haven't heard it before as far as I know. ^_~)

  • @KittyStarlight I thought so too, until I put a Banjo on me lap and had a go, the differences are subtle yet stark. Whiskey in the jar is the coolest song I know.

  • @Rikki0 I can only concur, I only wish this clip started sooner, I suspect Tommy had something rather entertaining to say.... Thanks to folks like Irishfolk music here, youtube will ensure they are *never* forgotten.

  • If the Scots & the Irish aren't related, why does my son Tommy look exactly like Liam Clancy???!!!!!

  • I think no other group has ever established such a raport with their audience. They are all gone now and I shall never be able to attend one of their concerts. How I would have loved that. Truly it is a great loss.

  • I haven't come across this video yet. :) CBTM's is the best version of the song.

@ Mari - That's my favorite part of the song. (The Catholic, the protestant, the Jew and Presbyterian). No animosity. :) Nice.

  • there was yet no animosity, no matter what persuasion...
