  • where did you get this photos?

  • can i borrow this video for my presentation in philippine literature? thanks =)

  • @hitandserve Yes you can.

  • So that's why they nukes their asses in Hiroshima

  • America killed 1.5million philipinos during Philipine -American War . (1899–1902)

Even the famous Mark Twain was against the war .

  • @sonichedgie estimated 34,000–1,000,000 casualties idiot and plus we were trying to assimilate them but they did not want that because Spain already was occupying the territory but after The Spanish War we gained the territory. We were being imperialistic but not to the sick twisted way the Japanese did in WWII. That is absolutely absurd what the Japanese did. America doesnt kill civilians like the Japanese did.

  • @RedSkye87 :America kills civilians like famous atomic bomb did .

  • @sonichedgie japan killed way more civilians at least atom bombs didn't killed more than million

  • i love u america <3

  • fucking japanese why they invade the philiphine

  • The Japanese along with Korean recruits were so cruel during the period they occupied the Philippines.

  • wow... great collection of pictures... the text narrative were good...

  • Widespread looting in occupied territories (valuable goods from banks, depositories, temples, churches, mosques, museums, businesses, private homes, etc.) was organized on a massive scale by official secret organization called Kin no yuri (Golden Lily) headed by Chichibu, Hirohito’s brother.

Mass raped by Japanese soldiers in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia, where some victims were pre-menstruating girls.

  • Between November 1944 and April 1945, Japan launched over 9,300 balloon bombs (or Fu-Go) to attack US and Canada. One bomb killed a woman and 5 children in south Oregon.

A tacit order from Hirohito to execute all Chinese POWs before the surrender of Japan, out of thousands of Chinese POWs, only 56 survived; and to eliminate evidences, all surviving human test subjects in Japanese Army’s chemical and biological research units were executed before the surrender of Japan.

  • Thousands of POWs and captured civilians were transported to Japan, Taiwan, Indochina, Manchuria, or Korea to be used as forced labor perished in Hell ships such as Oryoku Maru, Junyo Maru, Dainichi Maru, Arisan Maru, and many more.

Only 52,000 of the 270,000 Javanese forced laborers being sent to other Japanese held areas survived after WWII, a death rate of 80%.

  • Most victims of the human experimentations were Chinese, also American, British, Australian and Russian POWs.

At least six different chemical and biological attacks were conducted in China, such as Changde chemical and biological weapon attack in Hunan, and twice Kaimingjie germ weapon attacks in Zhejiang, chemical weapons attack in Battle of Wuhan and Battle of Zaoyang-Yichang.

Cyanide gas was tested on Australian and Dutch POWs on Kai Islands of Indonesia.

  • Various Japanese Army Units (100, 200, 516, 543, 731, 773, 1644, 1855, 2646, 8604, 9420) researched and developed chemical (potassium cyanide, phosgene, chlorine, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic trichloride, sulfer mustard, lewisite etc.) and biological (anthrax, glanders, rusts, bubonic plague, typhoid, typhus, cholera, smallpox, botulism, tuberculosis, malaria, etc.) weapons, and conducted lethal human experimentations on the general population in Japanese occupied territories.

  • The Three Alls Policy (Kill all, Burn all, Loot all) sanctioned by Hirohito was to massacre an entire village if they suspected an enemy hiding in the village, such as the Panjiayu Massacre in Hebei, China.

More than 100,000 civilians and POWs died in the construction of the Death Railway (or Thailand-Burma Railway), especially at Hellfire Pass.

After March 20, 1943, the Japanese Navy was under orders to execute all POWs taken at sea.

  • • Manila Massacre in Manila, Philippines • Nanking Massacre in Nanking, China • Palawan Massacre in Palawan, Philippinnes • Parit Sulong Massacre in Johor, Malaysia • Sandakan Death Marches in Borneo, Indonesia • Sook Ching Massacre in Singapore • SS Tjisalak Massacre by Japanese submarine I-8 • Terror Bombing of Chongqing, China • Tol Plantation Massacre in Australian Territory of New Guinea • Wake Island Massacre in North Pacific Ocean • Hsuchow (Xuzhou) Massacre in Jiangsu, China

  • What u are seeing in the philipines during ww2 can be seen 2day in Japan following the Tsunami. Events keep on repeating themselves! Sad isnt it?

  • what is the title of the music?????

  • @PhilippineCreation The title of the background music I used is "Prelude from the Opera Lohengrin" by Richard Wagner

  • @junevi2000 thanks man!

  • It's not our war that we fought, it's the war between Japan and the US of America! In the end, it's Japan that they helped and not the war-torned Philippines.

  • Tenno Heika Banzai!!

  • Pre-war Manila was probably the most beautiful city in Asia - it is heartbreaking to see the scale of destruction that was brought to bear by both the victors and losers of this tragic war. Two nations laying waste to a third that did not ask for this to happen.

eh d pa nga tayo mas yadong nkaka bwi galing s WW2...

    zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

  • When there is love there is hatred!if someone hurts you!u must not hurt them back...so that only love will exist and hatred well be gone!We were born we live we die...if they touch our body...they can never touch your heart.....

  • I hope countries don't hate on each other for what has happend on the past..

because we are not our ancestors and they are not their ancestors.. past is past..

We must stop hating for world peace!! \o/

  • obama is a collectivist and hes letting Philippines be come subject to china

kung mag sisikap tau'ng mga pinoy may magagawa tayo.GO!GO!GO!MGA PINOY!!!

  • Japan did not have a reason which should kill innocent civilians. The Japanese enemy was the United States and were not Filipinos. Most of the Filipino dead in World War Ⅱ are the victims of indiscriminate bombing by the United States.

I hope Filipinos not to be deceived by the propaganda of the United States or China.

  • couldn't agree more

  • guys hinde niyo ba napapansin na when foreigners visit our country, they call it The Philippine(observe, meyroong word na THE ...other example:The united states or the kingdom of Luxembourg)based on some history books it is a symbol of respect for once so called "PEARL OF THE ORIENT".tayo ang isa sa mga hinahangaaan nang mundo noon....2nd lang tayo sa japan in terms of economy, power and technological advancement.pero nayon ,binansagan tayo na "NATION OF SERVANTS"courtesy of chip stao, NAKAKAINIS!!

  • Turn Chip Tsao into a cannon fodder he'd hide his ass and run away like a chicken with his tail in his legs.

  • @esper5 Sad reality...pero bumilib din ako dun sa sabi ni Lara Quigaman tungkol sa bansag sa'ting land of servants or nannies...

  • Added to the fact, Manila became the 2nd most desrtoyed city in the world - just right after Warsaw, Poland by the Germans.

Many of our historical landmarks are now mere ruins and parking lots.

  • The Manila massacre is prbably teh biggest Japanese massacre in Southeast Asia, yet I find it sad not many metion it or commemorate the event where 100,000 Filipinos and peple of other cultures killed by the shameless Japanese Imperialist army.

  • Correct, Archinjiru there should be video about Manila just as there are about Nanjing massacre.

Never forget the innocnent Filipino civilians massacred by Japanese!!

  • mercedes benz is just a taxi that time! hahaha thats true..... but look now shit!

  • The Philippines then was one of the richest country in Asia before the war....

We had the first train service in Asia, the biggest air force, and the biggest navy...

the war turned our economy to shit..

  • i totally agree with you....we're one of the richest country in the world before...but this japanese war...they're bullshit!!!

we're now one of the most corrupt and poorest country not onli in Asia but in the whole world!!!

  • its not the war my brother its our leaders who fail us and last the pilipinos which means us . we should all individually contribute in our country to make a difference .

also we are still under U.S before ww2 ; during that time. we only achieve our independence after the war making the bastard marcos our president .. you should know what happen next. Bastard suck all our blood thats why most of us are in other country like slaves

  • I would like a copy of this video. Do you know how to contact Alfredo Villanueva?

  • One of the casualty of the Bataan Death March was my uncle: Cipriano Quinones. He was one of the Filipinos fighting for the freedom of our country. Just sad that I didn't have the chance to meet him. I salute every Filipino who lost their lives fighting for our freedom.

  • The americans don't have the stomach for urban, house to house fighting, so when the GI's drew sniper fire from one building what they do is flatten the whole building with artllery fire

  • being a filipino and from watching this video hurts me a lot.

  • It really bugs me how it seemed as if we had it together in the 1930's then that war had to fuck up everything for us even till this day!

  • i know how you feel bro but its not the war because japan had atomic bomb but look at how they rebuilt their country. our leaders fail us and last we should all individually contribute to our country to make a difference. obviously we cannot rely on our damm ass leaders we need to act and do whatever we individually can for our country. also our people should stop voting all this morons to be in govt position . fell me !!!

  • It always seems insane to me that armies deliberately flatten cities, especially when you're a supposed liberator of said city. Insane because in pure military terms, the rubble provides excellent cover for defending troops & snipers. And of course in humanitarian terms, you are denying citizens their homes after the battle as well as wiping out infrastructure to help combat starvation & disease.

  • yes agree with your Post, I Guess they never learned they did the same thing to Vietnam, but in Iraq they know better they use Guided munitions as much as possible there is so much difference between then and now

  • after that america gave us independence because they didnt want to pay reparations! funny thing is they did help japan become a first world power. i think its tragic.

  • lovely comment

  • make no mistake, the battle still rages on! most Filipino families are still divided, parents have to leave as OFW's to combat Battle against Poverty. No support or relief in sight, wheew!

  • Good insight and pictures that show the once "pearl of the orient". Deeply moving!

  • ganda ng landmarks ng pinas

  • it seems history never healed our nation. Where is that someone who said, "this nation will be great again?"

  • The same facial expressions still reverberates in the filipinos today.

  • This clip made me very emotional.

  • thanx for the information,,,
