  • Wow, this is the first lick I've learned! I can't get it to sound as good as yours though. I am playing through a shitty Fender 15G that I paid $20 for though....

  • :O

  • You my friend, are the master of guitar teachers!

    Thank you!

  • "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU"?

  • Looks like he's barring the with his index finger correct?

  • Wish I could afford an electric guitar and an amp.

  • really admire your skills and thank you showing us how to play stuff, I appreciate your efforts.

  • what it the amp settings?

I bought my fender guitar yesterday and the sound does not stop it keeps going on and on !

  • How do you play the power chords?!

  • Playing the guitar looks so super fun. I just love the sound. Hopefully soon I can get one.

  • @abizzle103646 That's crazy, I've been thinking the exact same thing lately. o.O

  • Screw u that is very complecated man

  • YAY

  • That looks like fun I'm going to try it. I'm just leaning to play so this should help me feel like I know something that sound like something.THANKS

  • how are we supposed to know how to play the power cords. you completely missed that part

  • @Eloc626 you place your 3rd finger 2 frets higher on the neck and 1 string down, and the place your 2nd finger 1 string down from that and 1 fret lower (i. e. : if it says to play on 5th fret, you place main finger on fret 5, middle finger on fret 6 2 strings lower, and your ring finger on fret 7 one string lower than the original

  • @Eloc626 a power chord is when you play one step down on the string below the original.

Example: If you played the 5th fret of the Low E string then to make a power chord you just play the 3rd fret of the A string as well.

  • Too bad the video was recorded with a potato

  • Thanks alot for this. I've recently picked up playing the guitar. I have an epiphone les paul, which I've had for about 6 years but never touched. I started to play about 2 weeks ago. Im learning but its a very slow process, i just cant seem to get it, but practice makes perfect right. I almost have this down within a matter on minutes. Thanks a million for this vid!!

  • That is cool and it was easy! Took about 5 minutes.

This kind of applicable lesson instantly takes away the monotony of chord practice and dexterity training for us absolute beginners

  • At the end of the video he slid his hand across the fret board and made a cool sound. How do u do that?

  • I'm a beginner and I learned this in about 10 minutes! :D

  • what's the movement pattern with your right hand? you never said

  • send a reply to MY account "godseaterburst"

  • ive got a nevada electric beginner guitar and i just cant get that awesoe rock sound outta my guitar so im going crazy when im getting flat sounds...like a acoustic...please help me!? Bv(

  • \Why is this so hard for me lol...

  • Who else started singing when he started playing? :D

  • Thank u so much i got but nt the power chords part i have a starter guitars and i need to know how to play 3 easy songs tp get a real guitar can u help me plz

  • i dont know about yall but im enjoying this. just looked the comments and found so much hate mail. im so glad to know tht a joke comment can go so far as to making my day lol. :)) love ya people enjoy replying to this one

  • Hey marty ur the best guitar teacher ever!!! Can u please put up a tutorial on how to play the beginning of Diamond Eyes by Shinedown

  • Every time I switch frets, the sound just dies out, I don't see how I can keep it continuous like he does in the video.

  • @ditycopgangsta Just keep practicing, when I started, I couldn't do any of this either. Good luck mate!

  • Uh how should a kid do that JFK I

  • Where would you go on your channel for your VERY FIRST time playing a guitar? Love this song... but no way in "heck" my kids can do that LOL!

  • whaaaa??????

  • How do you do a power chord my guitar just cant do it lol

  • It's good but I don't know any power chords

  • LOL I was like "this is so easy!! :D" then the power chords were added and you didn't say where to place your fingers so yeah, brb learning power chords.

  • I have a spectrum beginner guitar, it is really annoying that you can't have it sound anywhere near to this

  • @Aaron97oD he uses a spectrum on another one of his videos..he was using a costco spectrum guitar and it sounded like that

  • My guitar sounds weird. I tuned it. Is there anything else I can do?

  • @TVDiaries07 How weird because different guitars have a different sound. Mine can change into 3 different sounds.

  • @Marine00Carter It sounds higher. And it;s not a real pretty sound. And whenever I play chords it always sounds like 1:45

  • There's me thinking it's hard on guitar hero, only got my guitar today, going to be a challenge xD

  • @Aaron97oD i got my guitar today as well!

  • @MentalRetardsRUs Lol nice. guitar.about.com. Have a look at this website. It is really helpful and FREE

  • dude i wish u where my guitar teacher!

  • when he started playing i thout he played smoke on the water

  • i did it without power chords and it still sounds great

  • thank you man, this video was very helpfull and it is easy to play

  • Lol XD "what's wrong with you?"

  • HE is a good teacher unlike some of them on youtube.

  • Keep in mind that at one point, none of you knew what a power chord was either.

  • @977eli What is a power chord? (( I dont know...))

  • @timochleo A power chord is hitting two strings at a time, the two strings are adjacent and the higher pitched string is down two frets. For example, you have your G string(lowest pitch) on the 3rd fret, you would have the next string on the fifth fret. Really hope that helps. It's probably one of the best guitar techniques to master, it's used everywhere.

  • @977eli Thanks so much mate!!!!! now i completely understand it <3

  • @977eli lol yeah

  • @977eli amen

  • @977eli I know what one is but how the hell do i make one? Please answer me? Maybe even send me a message on powerchords and how to make them?

    "Whats wrong ith you! "

  • TO EVERYONE THAT DOSNT KNOW WHAT A POWER CHORD IS...LOOK AT THE COMMENT BELOW THIS 1.

  • a power chord is when your index more or less bars the root note and you play other notes under it

  • wtf is a power chord dude!

  • @NSLkillcams a power chord is really easy. your first finger is on lets say the 3rd fret of the low E string and your index is on the 5th fret of the A string...that is your basic power chord you can move that all around the neck if you want....another way is to keep that shape but put your pinky on the 5th fret of the D string with you index on the 5th fret of the A string and your first finger on the 3rd fret of the E string it sounds heavier than the basic power chord. hope that helped you

  • if u peps dont have any ideea about the basics chords including the power chords why bother to learn songs if u cant even play or u dont have any ideea about what his doin u can always go play guitarhero or super mario thats more apropriate for ur brains he explains better

  • @mrnoname551 its called learning... calm down

  • OMFG you guys dont know how to use google or u just retarded ?

  • what is a power cord

  • Did you pick only the 2 power chord strings or the E string aswell?

  • wtf reading all these comments make me like wanna doing a murder or something^^

  • How many chanels do you have bro? lol

  • Lmfao at people who don't know what a power chord is

  • @TheRemixer05 you didnt at one point dickhead

  • my guitar doesnt sound even close to that... and my tuning thin says that its right-tuned....

  • @Shareapie The chances are if your just starting to learn guitar, you probably have a practice amp with no "effects". marty uses some sort of distortion (gain) on his amp to get that sound.

  • What the heck is a power chord?

  • @NinjaStlye LOOOOOL Thinking the same thing

  • I ove reading all th enew guys comment i know i was like that once and its not nice :L

  • Comment removed

  • @TheGamerpro300 A power chord is where you (This is only for the 2 lowest strings) Where you put your pointer finger on a fret of one of those 2 lowest strings and then have your ring finger on the next higher string and also 2 frets higher from where your pointer finger is and then have your pinky on the next string higher of the string that your ring finger is on but it will be on the same fret as the ring finger. The higher strings are a little harder to explain with this character limit.

  • @TheGamerpro300 dumb ass if you dont know what a power chord is dont try to learn GUITAR learn vocabulary fucking loon

  • @1010sladeparker Maybe you should explain it rather than berate him for not knowing?

  • @TheGamerpro300 Its when you put ur index on the top sting and ur miggle on the secound to top its realy easyy:)

  • @TheGamerpro300 he asumes you are not a compleet dumbass

  • @TheGamerpro300 it's 2 notes combined so it makes the tone stroneger...

  • @TheGamerpro300 because these are "beginner" guitar lessons, not "clueless" guitar lessons

  • @TheGamerpro300 It doesn't really matter what it is. Just follow along and do what he says :)

  • @TheGamerpro300 a power chord is when you have one finger on one string then you put the next finger under it two threats away then hit both the strings

  • @ArrowsofHell fret *

  • @TheGamerpro300 Urrrrrr the easiest chord, it uses the 1st and 5th scale degrees. For example, bar the 3rd fret E string and the 5th fret on the 5th and 4th strings, and you have a G major chord. Move that shape up a fret, and you have G# major chord. Same thing with the A string roots.

  • @MH5tube it sounds confusing a bit still. But heck, if they're easy, I'd better work harder.

  • @Poweryouup It is hard to describe in a youtube comment, I hope you can get these links:

    freebasicguitar . com/_images/powerchordsweb. jpg

    guitartips. com. au/pj/PowerChordNormal. jpg

  • @TheGamerpro300 don't just assume we're all in the same boat as you. where'd you get tat half of the people that viewed this vid are as clue less as you? to me yo have no business playing a guitar if u don't know what POWER CHORDS are!!!!!

  • @TheGamerpro300 It's a riff

  • @TheGamerpro300 OH MY GOD THEY JUST MADE SOMETHING THAT WILL REVOLUTIONIZE LOOKING UP STUFF! Google

  • @TheGamerpro300 really, the most liked comment is someone asking what a power chord is?

  • @TheGamerpro300 wow. just wow. you are on youtube. figure it out

  • Comment removed

  • @TheGamerpro300 if you don't know what a power chord is i would really advise you do some reading before you even pick up your guitar.

  • @TheGamerpro300 if you dont know what a power chord is you sould not be playing the guitar

  • he should teach the main riff for no sleep till brooklyn

  • thanks!

  • hahhahaha 1:45 funny

  • 1:45 oops

  • i learnt this too bro ^^

  • that was easy...

  • i just leant this cuz of this guy ^^

  • @xXTysonDarkwingXx oh hay bro :P i learnt this too :P ^^

  • why not show the powerchord hand position from the start ??

  • oh my god. i fucking love playing guitar. thank you so much!!

  • What's a power chord and what's he doing to make one?

  • @DazedNConfusedXD It's where you place your finger, power chords tend to involve the low E; but honestly I've no idea :D

  • @DazedNConfusedXD i cant tell if ur bein sarcastic or not but the power chord is just when you put your index finger on one string then you put your ring finger on the next string but skip one fret and theres your power chord

  • @DazedNConfusedXD On the first chord he is just adding his third finger to the 9th fret of the A then on the second chord he adds his third finger to the 7th fret of the D. The third chord he adds his third finger to the ninth of the D. Also make sure to only strum the top two strings when doing power chords. I hope this helps!

  • the 42 people who dislike this cant do it

  • @The73kieran Exactly. People are sooo stupid. :)

  • @adenabutterfly that hurts my feelings

  • I thought you were gonna say "it's same shit over and over" eheheh

  • fuckinh hell turn it down

  • i like trains!!!!!!!

  • @Cyb3rRoamer ggod for you

  • great but I don't have an effects pedal to get me that same sound.

  • nice i ok at it now :) am just not fast

  • hey how do you make that little sound after playing the 3rd power chord.

  • buena guitarra eh!!
