Wow, you mean you can just put metal wheel and axles on any of the new ray engines and they'll run off of DC?

Originally the train is powered by build in battery inside the train, using plastic wheel. Then I modified by taking out the built in battery and changed the plastic wheel to metal wheel. So the axles and motor stayed inside the train. Connect the motor wire to metal wheel (instead of the built in battery orginally). Need to work with extra patient and cautious.

This is very nice, if I ever run into that Amtrak F7 A-B-B-A set, I should think about something similar (of course, it'd just be for the shells, not so much using the new ray stuff.)
