Saw them in the mid 80's in Brisbane. The singer tried to play a guitar intro and stuffed it. He just laughed, said 'Oh well It's only Rock and Roll' and stuffed it again. Great show though!!!!!!
Your drama teacher should be an inspiration, not an embarrassment. He can write and great pop rock song or two, and perform really well live. And, his band were really cool, I was there.
I saw the recent gig at the Corner with the Stems - as soon as these guys came on i felt transported back 20 years!! So many emotions and great feelings of good times remembering seeing them live as a teenager. I wish they'd play few more gigs now they're back in practice - they would pack places out!!! One of (if not the) Melbourne's finest bands for me!!
The first real rock gig I went to was Hoodoo Gurus and Huxton Creepers in 1986... it was totally amazing, life changing. Later when I was a teen organising rock gigs in my hometown, Rob Craw gave me a lift back to the city in his old Holden station wagon, he was totally down to earth. Lovely chap. Ahh happy days!
Very cool band - used to see Rob Craw down at the Pahran skate bowl back in 88-89. Lucky enough to see one of their last gigs at the Prince of Wales - The Creepers, The Stems, The Church, The Ups and Downs: all fine Aussie bands who deserved more sucess.
These guys were great back in the day...the 80's. Didn't they also have a hit with a song called,'My cherie-amore'? Another great Huxton Creeper's song. Cheers!
yep, they did have a hit song 'My Cherie Amour" and it was...♥.•:*¨¨*:•.♥

I used to catch their gigs in Melbourne when I was a young little thing and I remember once seeing Rob Craw in Prahan McDonalds....I wanted to go up to him and give him a big KISS...I had a crush on him :]
I had a big crush on him too! I secured his phone number once when I was doing community radio with the pretext of doing an interview but I was too terrified to ring him. What was I thinking??
Thanks SaveStef! I'm sure I've got it somewhere and when I find it I will absolutley send it to you!
I met the 'Huxton's'way back 'round 1986 when they were doing a gig for friends at the Bris city hall... My band tried to do a support for them but they blew the place apart. I remember that all the guys were down to earth and just really nice,(even to these try-hards from Brisbane).
Lol Rob Crawe is my cousin. :)
