I am looking for the same things in a jacket too, we have been having a really cold winter nowadays, it already started becoming warm but now it is back to being -12 degrees celsius and I hateeeee minus LOL...I have a really good winter jacket from KEYO and it goes down below my knees and it is totally warm and has all the features you talked about...I love it!
I went to Burlington Coat Factory looking for a coat and came out with some socks. Lesson was if I'm looking for a coat I won't go to Burlington Coat Factory looking for a coat. They need to clean that place up! lol
i really just do not think canada goose jackets are necessary for those of us who are living in the city. they were made for people living up north, hence why they have the loop on the hood, which is for pulling people out if they fall into the lake.
i do agree that down jackets are warmer but they are generally not very waterproof. wool pea coats are alright as long as it's not pouring rain, and they are really warm if you put on a fleece sweater underneath.
i live in florida, yes florida, but these past few winters we've gone below freezing many times and i've had to buy a heavy coat. i got a wool(or felt, idk), which now i know was a good choice because it's not like we have snow or blizzards. =)

you really have nothing better to do than put on a bunch of random jackets? its a freakin coat. go to the store try it on and buy it. it really shouldnt take a 7 minute video for that to happen. open your eyes lady, nobody wants to watch you put coats on.who the %#@ is gonna listen to you anyway? maybe you should have made a video where you try on bags over your head, would have been a lot more interesting.
@Audreyyyy4 ha. you really think i watched this video because i wanted to see about coats? look at the name lady, did it not occur to you that i make fun of stupid videos and stupid people like you that watch the stupid videos? i make fun of you because i can, you have opened the door and invited me in to poke fun at you. go back to your bowl of ice cream and watching videos like these because you dont have enough self esteem to dress yourself. its not my fault you are who you are.
i'm not sure, but are down jackets like way way more expensive in canada than the US? more than 300 dollars seems outrageous you can get something cheaper at eddie bauer and everything i get there is warm as shit!
@caligirlvideos ps. not all jackets are that expensive, you can find some for around $150 and up, but the ones I mentioned are higher end brand name jackets, hence the hefty price tag
@caligirlvideos hm...here is my experience.. my brother bought club monaco 100% down jacket for about 250 buks and thought that he got a good deal since it is still brand name too..but when he actually tried my jacket for a day (hes skinny) he said my jacket was way warmer than his down jacket.. (i have the goose expedition jacket) ...
Nice tutorial! but personally I like TNA jackets since they are REALLY warm despite lacking down fill.
Also, Canada Goose jackets contain real coyote fur, since i'm not a big fan of animal skinning I would much rather skip the Canada Goose and buy the TNA instead since it's all synthetic :)
You just have to double check that the down filled parkas are 100% down fill, some are 80% down and 20% feathers which don't keep you warm at all. However, there are also some other materials like primaloft that can compete with a down filled in warmth. This advice comes straight from Winnipeg. :P
yes canada goose jackets are warm but they are definitely overrated. Of course down is more expensive but theres LOTS of jackets that are down filled that don't cost nearly as much as canada goose. I find people just like them and other jackets like Parajumpers because they have the huge logo on the arm so people know you have one and spent 500-1000 dollars on it. Its also for the style. People should do a lot more research when investing in a winter jacket... seriously.
@Limster17 um...I get extremely cold during winter and I bought tna jackets before and several northface jackets too..but def...canada goose jacket is the warmest (btw I have the exhibition for the goose jacket) It definitely blocks all the winds and I really wish I have like the whole body suit from canada goose..thats how warm it is..don't know about the short ones with the "logo" on the arm but definitely my jacket was worth the money..If i lose it or something happens, I would buy it again.
@cjesle Of course i'm not saying it applies to everyone. Sorry if I've offended you in any way. However she did say that the TNA ones aren't down filled, and not all northface ones are as well. I also did say that they are indeed warm, I'm just saying you can get lots of equal quality for much less.
@Limster17 I know..tna jackets are ridongculous when it comes down to pricing... not just jackets..their whole store(aritzia) is ridongculous.. I used to be obsessed with Aritzia, bought 2 tna jackets and the track suits and all that but honestly, 300 buks for tna jacket when goose jacket starting price is 489.99 (last time when I checked) if you have le baron membership, 20% discount right there so it isnt expensive for what you get. I guess people just think goose is for show now.. so sad

I work in the retail business here in Canada, and the reason why Canada Goose jackets are so expensive is because of the fur trim on the hood. If you pay close attention, the styles without the fur are actually reasonably priced. The fur trip is wolf fur, and because of Canadian Law, there is a limited amount of wolves that can be killed for that purpose per year. Therefore, they have a limited amount of coats produced. That's why they're so expensive. =)
I live in Portugal and to me anything below 22 degrees celsius is cold. Right now it's about 6º outside and for me that's FREEZING! I brought the warmest winter jacket I could find, in a sports shop. I think it's made for snow and it's very good. But I'd buy one even warmer if I could find one! I'll try to remember all your tips next time I shop for a Winter jacket :)
i completely agree with you! Last year I bought a Esprit winter jacket. Goes past bum, downfilled has fur hood. I think you'd love this one. The pockets have fleece lining and are downfilled as well! If you go to an esprit outlet they're still available for like $69.99+CAN And it doesn't compare to my TNA jacket at all!

Agree with the TNA parka. Not warm at all, especially since I have to walk to class in -28 celsius! Ontario can get freezing cold sometimes! Definitely recommend a Canada Goose jacket, but a long one though!
my tna parker is awesome bought it 3-4 years ago and still like new and so warm for winter! I know its pricey but worth it! I would rather pay more for a good one than keep buying a cheap one every other year.
I like how you took us through several coats and explained how they might work in different locations, just not where you are... I think it made this video relevant for people in a lot of different places.
I grew up in the Great Lakes snowbelt-- maybe not as cold as where you are, but I know what you mean about some coats just not cutting it in the cold wind and blowing snow!! I think you have a good list of things to look for in a winter coat.
@Jillian364 ... I don't know about everywhere else, but I didn't really get any rain where I live until June. Just a hell of a lot of snow. Oh, and Summer didn't even start until late June too because the winter was really bad.
Nice, sexy and usefull! Thanks a lot !
