so there has been some speculation as to the sound i am getting... and sorry to let you guys down but it is mostly a computer recording feedback thing... I played with distortion on my amp and recorded with a laptop webcam so it sounds brown and fuzzy because of the crappy mic on my laptop... keep it funky

yes, but you won't get the same sound as if you use a bass pedal.

I have that same bass. It sounds even better now that I have move the strings down and added a B string. Since I never played the G string and wanted a 5 string. Now I have the best of both worlds: a B string and a narrow neck. My other bass is the SR500.
