I have to say of all of the figure skating "controversies", i.e., people complaining about underrated skaters - this pair has been magnificent for years and they stuck it out til the Judges finally gave them what they deserved - GOOD FOR THEM!!!!!

It was amazing to see this pair skate in Torino in 2006, after Zhao had been off ice for some time due to surgery on Achielles tendon. They won bronze there, and then retired, got married, and decided to come back. This was not a desire just be at Olympics again. They are amazing, and they skated with such technique and attention to music, and, yes, with PASSION (not so easy for them). They won the Olympic gold, and they deserved every point that was awarded to them. Bravo to S&Z!

Fantastic, great program. Little problems witth side by side spin (as always) buy apart from this - a pure perfection. What a great pair they are. Jumps, speed, ARTISTRY, death spiral (!!!!). Sooo good they won the Olympics. Sooo bad nobody of the youth is as good as them,

I'm really happy for them. Just imagine: before 2002 they were criticized for their lack of artistry! It's wonderful they've come so far. I'm so glad they came back. I've never been so happy to see a team win the Olympics.

OMG... they skated so good at the short program. Huge score 76.60, world record. Go Shen and Zhao Go. Love you. I love Godeeva and Grinkov but they are like kids/innocent love. Shen and Zhao impart the enduring love, thick and thin together and they are 'comrades". Lovely lovely. They don't seem to age at all over theyears. And so cool and calm. GO S&Z. Nothing can top 2003 World LP (the best ever probably) but so nice to see them coming back strong!!

Pairs skating is not exactly my cup of tea. But after watching Shen and Zhao's LP from 2003 Worlds, I began to reconsider. Now, I'm totally hooked on watching these two. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their performances. Best of luck to them in Vancouver! :)

all merits aside, s/z win mainly due to their program component scores. if you look at the sheets for this FS, 71 out of a maximum of 80 points. On technical scores they are neck and neck with s/s and p/t. they have the edge with much bigger elements and pull out the hardest lifts. but overall no one will catch them on component parts.

the new judge system is not fair and should be changed. all the chinese pairs even the russian are obvously the Victims. the Judges can just give so many ponits they want to help their favourite pair zu win the Match.

Someone sounds very bitter here. The only thing not "fair" about this competition was S/S getting an inflated score for a very much flawed performance. And what about the ridiculous 10 S/S got at Skate Canada?? Yes I wish Vancouver will be a fair competition as well for the opposite reason!

i am agree with you. look at the perfect throaw landing, and height of the twist, and the perferct bodyposition. 66 for the fisrtscore ist not overated at all. the S/S even got a 67on the second mark . that is overated.

That trick they do at 1:23 is unbelievable. They still have lots of time to train, so it will be perfect in Vancouver (closer together, no missed rotation from Zhao) and just think what it will look like! It's so interesting and innovative to do edge-work like that into a jump.

And just look how fast they are!

I wish I could go and see them live in Vancouver. They are going to win! I just know it!
