  • It May Not Be Good As Knopfler Song....But I really Like This One! Makes Me Feel Good :)

Only Thing "Matters To Me" is That I Am Enjoying Every Bit Of It <3 <3 <3

  • Poland! Przejmujemy to ;)

  • I enjoyed it, but it doesnt hold a candle to dire straits

  • U cant beat Dire Straits, but this comes pretty bloody close

  • sounds vaguely like Velvet Underground.

  • In general I think this is a good cover, but the tempo is a really slow. It starts to drag after a while.

  • Actually it isn't even half as bad, as I expected. It's not bad at all, I have to say. Nowhere close to Dire Straits, obviously, but it's not bad

  • this song makes me cry

  • Dude, what up with the arm in the picture? :-o

  • Tries too hard to sing it like Knopfler. Should've just done his own thing. Not bad, though.

  • Loveee !

  • I've loved the original since I was 13, but I can still say this is a very nice version.

  • So tell me - Where's the place for you, and what's the movie song that goes with it? Mine is Almost Famous - the scene where they played Tiny Dancer by Elton John on the tour bus. :)

  • @112112233 That's a very sweet concept and I like the idea of universalism and personal interpretation, but "There's a place for us, I know you know the movie song" refers to "Somewhere" from West Side Story, which is an updated version of Romeo and Juliet. The lyrics to "Somewhere" read "There's a place for us, somewhere a place for us."

  • OH MY DAYS!

    THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!

LOVETHIS SONG WITH MY WHOLE LIFE!

    THANKYOU SO INCREDIBLY MUCH! :) :) :)

  • love the killers but should never have done this song only 1 band can do this and thats dire straits. not a bad version though

  • I'm doing this song in Music at school I didn't know it before but now i can't stop listening to it *-*'

  • I love this song. remind me of the good old times.. </3

  • Romeo tenemos la misma historia... ja ja ja que haremos al respecto?

  • @jadeandjason this is disgusting.

  • I love this song so much <3

  • a great song perfected

  • Great cover guys!

  • you promised me everything, you promised me thick and thin, yeah

now you just say: " oh romeo yeah, you know I used to have a scene with him".

if this line does not bring memories to you, you never had a life !!

  • the covers can be better than the original....for example another girl another planet by blink 182 way better than the original

  • This song is so amazing that I'd probably enjoy any rendition as long as it's sung with feeling -- including this one. But to say they outperformed the original Dire Straits version is like saying that Milli Vanilli outperformed a Jimi Hendrix song. To be clear, I don't begrudge anyone who happens to prefer this version - but this is not just my opinion; it can be scientifically proven! :)

  • So what if you think the cover is better than the original. Who fucking cares.

  • @ilovepesto19 totaly... they are both fuckiing awesome

  • they are both good

  • Love this version

  • @ChucklesMofo The only person out of me and you who fits the phrase fanboy, is you Because you got your dick in a bunch over the fact I'm criticising people who call this a better song than the original. Why not criticise? You also misunderstand my comment, I wasn't calling this a bad cover.

I love it. Are you confused yet? (of course she is) I assume you are a she as well. In the same way fan girls made me dislike Johnny Depp, please don't make me dislike The Killers too, I beg of you please.

  • @ChucklesMofo 2: Sound quality in music and film has changed a lot in the past 30 years, nice observation. Of course this has no bearing on who sings the song. It just means it was recorded in an up to date fashion. The original band could do this easily, and many older bands have.

3: I would like to take you up on that dare but I doubt you are in the same country as myself, because most ignorant people are from America. I'M KIDDING, but yeah, that was me exaggerating...

  • @ChucklesMofo Let me address some of your points:

1: I'm not a fanboy, and I hate that saying, It's one in many forms of bastardised English that can be found on the shit parade that is the web; I hardly like Dire Straits and never really paid any attention to them.

  • This is an awesome cover of an awesome song.

  • I never really liked reading Romeo and Juliet for school... but this song..ooh this song just made it so much easier to love the story altogether

"I love you like the stars above, i'll love you til i die" <3

  • this and can't take my eyes off of u, white demon love song, and olive u are goin to be my wedding songs when i grow up.

  • yeahhhhhhhh!!!

  • I just want to stop my life and listen to this song over and over.

  • The Dire Straits version is excelent, but there's no denying this cover is another song entirely. I would personally, given the choice, choose this version any time. But that's not relevant. This cover is my favorite song ever, but credit where it's due: there would be no cover without the original. Thank you, Dire Straits!

  • I think this is a really great cover. Sure, Dire Straits are pretty much one of the best fucking bands in the world, and pretty much unsurpassable too, but in all honesty, this cover isn't all that bad.

  • If I could sing, I would sing this to that special girl.

  • I really enjoy this version, but nothing compares to Dire Straits original!

  • @kingdavidtrialruns your gay for looking up this song and calling it gay

  • @kingdavidtrialruns Okay lettme tell u sumthing..ur homosexual bc thts wat u mean not gay bc gay is cheerful lively and bright not homosexual..I hav nothing against homosexuals bc im bisexual myself but when i see a guy being an asshole ill call him out n u sir r being an asshole bc ur not getting the msg of this song...This song is honestly beautiful and smooth but ppl like u who HATE on good music shud just SHUT UP bc u hav no room 2 comment on here n u just HATE...

  • @PartyRockinChick13 Gay means homosexual; just because the original meaning of a word is one thing does not mean that the connotations it gains over time cannot change its meaning, idiot. Another thing, you don't have anything againest gays, but you say im gay? So... your complimenting me? And not getting the message of the song would make me ignorent, not an asshole; once again, your an idiot. To make use of your level of logic, you shut up, u hve no rom 2 coment cus u dumb an u dnt agre wit me

  • @kingdavidtrialruns Actually, homosexual is a connotation that the word gay gained over time. It originally meant happy. Listen to some old songs or read some classical literature. Whatever you do though, be sure to stop being "ignorent," you ignorant fool.

  • @marcusplaysmusic Thats what i said... that the connotation has changed the words meaning over time. Meaning that gay now means homosexual because, once again, the connotation. We're not in classical times now are we? So how about you stop being ignorant and learn to read.

  • @kingdavidtrialruns You obviously don't know the meaning of the word connotation. I'm an English major so believe me when I tell you that connotations do not "change the meaning of a word over time." Every single word in the English language has multiple connotations, and they all depend on the perspective of the person perceiving the word. Your sentences are barely even coherent, so don't call me ignorant (you're welcome for the spelling lesson by the way), and don't tell me to learn to read.

  • @kingdavidtrialruns And what is the present but the future's classical time? Yes, the ignorant people who use the word "gay" as a homosexual slang term are just that: ignorant. I'm not ignorant; you're not ignorant (at least when it comes to other peoples' sexual orientations). I don't know how this argument started and I honestly don't care. It's a waste of my time and I'm done with it. Have fun attempting to validate your existence through youtube arguments, and have a nice "life."

  • @marcusplaysmusic Are we in the future? No. So the only definition of the word thta matters is the one that is in use currently, and one more thing you pathetic piece of youtube trash:TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • @kingdavidtrialruns So by your logic "Wood" now means "Fly".

  • @kotwicki90 Since "Wood" is not used as a substitute for "Fly" in popular culture enough to merit an added definition to it, the answer is no. But by using your style of logic I can make a retarded comment and pretend that it's smart: so by your logic your an idiot fool?

  • @kingdavidtrialruns Aww you do have a brain.

  • @PartyRockinChick13 Thats a bit harsh dont you think

  • If i could sing, i would sing this to that one special girl...

  • @KotaMichaelChild24 Try it, girls love to see you try to please ... especially when it's something that costs effort (or pride).

  • @KotaMichaelChild24 Do it. Whether you can sing or not. Show her that you love her that much, that you're willing to sing to her.

  • @KotaMichaelChild24 So what if you can't sing?Singit to her.

  • this song reminds me of me and my Ex boyfriend ryan:'( miss him to death but gotta let go. i still love this song tho <3

  • street suss serenade*

  • Complimenting an attempt o cover a song is acceptable

but saying it is better, well that's uncalled for, and if anyone said that to me in person I'd smack them across the fuckin head

  • @ConfidentPickle I really doubt you even know enough about music to even argue that this version is better.

  • @MrCorndogEater Wow, what a stupid thing to say.

  • @MrCorndogEater That's just a stupid thing to say. I could write and sing a song. If Taylor Swift were to sing it, it would be a cover and a million times better, as I can't sing.

  • @taylorlovesyou2232 Oh it would be a million times better?

Have you heard Bob Dylan? The dude is a terrible singer but hes famous, why? Because he wrote beautiful songs, songs with depth and meaning.

    That's where true music lies.

  • @MrCorndogEater Excactly. He can WRITE songs. Which means there's room for improvement on the vocals.

  • @MrCorndogEater

I disagree. Have you heard the song 'Hurt' by Nine Inch Nails? Johnny Cash covered it, and I personally think he did a better job of it. :P

  • @omglemmings lmao!

  • @omglemmings If you mean by internet badass that I would glady smack a fool in person, then you correct

If you mean by internet badass that I cower behind my laptop and would never actually engage in physical combat, why don't you gimme your address and we'll see if you're right! Have a nice day chump

  • <3 this song even prefer the killers version to the dire straits :) x

  • i love this song :) 3:10 and 3:17 are my fave lines

  • @maritzarangel those are my fav lines as well :) this is a really depressing song to me tho....bbut whatever, i like it so much more.

  • "You and me babe,

    ...how bout it?"

  • This is such a classic love song.

  • :3

  • thumbs up if Hot Fuzz brought you to this

  • I like this version better (:

  • This is like the most romantic song ever! It's soooo beautiful.

  • This friggin song is a rip of dIRE sTRAITS you fag!!!

  • @Freggly123 This friggin song is a cover of Dire Straits, mr. sunshine!!!

  • @Freggly123 Learn how to spell.

  • @Freggly123 It clearly says in the info box that they're performing the cover, fucking dumbass.

  • @Freggly123 Hai.

  • @Freggly123 Hahahahahahahaha You got Owned. Just saying

  • @Freggly123 You fucking dumbass.

  • I'm reading shakespeare right now, but it's "The Taming of the Shrew" wrong play lol

  • "Juliet, the dice was loaded from the start" - I love it. Im af fatilist and this is a perfect metaphor ^^

  • @Kaffejonas That's also my favorite part of the song.

  • This should have way more than 559,991 likes! Just people dont know about it :(

  • So the Killers can't come up with something close...they are technically more advanced surely. But lacking somehow...granted Somebody Told Me is classic...nevermind, I rattle on.

  • @percyjsunny101 of course this is a cover you fucking ass

  • I like listening to this when im taking a shit.

  • i love this song its ace killers rule

  • How is it that the killers always make beautiful music?

  • @sonofasungodiscool They don't, this is a Dire straits song.

  • I love you, Paige.

  • I only like the chorus, the rest isnt very good :/

  • Adorable song. :'3

  • Tribute to Dire Straits!!!

  • i like it cause it stays true to the original by knoffler. thinking he'd do a great version of skete away.

  • fucking love this song!!! <3

  • Sounds like a young Lou Reed

  • i forgot how much i used to love this band <3

  • All the nights i used to sit on my bed with the lights off and sing my heart out with this song. I'll never forget it. If only you could see what I feel in my heart, then would you believe me?

  • @Darkhonor90 if you felt anything like i did about melow songs and this band then yes i believe you 100%

  • They can't all be winners. Still, "brightside", "somebody told me", "when you were young", and maybe the song -"all these things that I've done "are 4 good songs.

  • @adayinthelife111 ur comment made me laugh thx :D

  • @adayinthelife111 noo.. The Killers did a cover of it from the Dire Straits

  • hmm falls short compared to the original, but what could you expect..

I can't do everything, but I'll do anything for you

I can't do anything 'cept be in love with you

    <3

  • The original version but Dire Straits is better :/

  • This song reminds me of my lovely boyfriend robby <3 I can't do the talks, like they talk on the TV

And I can't do a love song, like the way it's meant to be

I can't do everything, but I'll do anything for you

I can't do anything 'cept be in love with you

  • when he sings "when we made love you used to cry"

I can just hear all the emotion,

    the love,

    the memories pouring out.

It's beautiful and almost makes me want to cry ♥

  • MY FAVOURITE SONG :}

  • I <3 this song!

  • I know its Dire Straights...but it sounds very David Bowie-esque to me :) love it <3

  • Wtf, never knew they sang that :D

FUCK YEH! NOW I CAN LISTEN TO DIRE STRAITS AND THE KILLERS, YA DANCER!

  • @violentjett Good for you. I'm sure it makes you feel so good that sort of language when a civil explanation would have sufficed.

  • teehee ^^ my name is juliet xD <3

  • i love this song so much... im pretty sure ive listened to it about 100 times today...

  • FUCK YOU

  • @sexpistol455 wow

  • Completely forgot that I had this album who knew. Although I like the "On The Rocks," version better.

  • sure the original is best but I think this is an amzing cover :D A pair of star-crossed lovers :P

  • A valiant effort. I believe the Dire Straits original has a lot more soul and heart behind it though. It just seems very out of character for them. I enjoy The Killers but this isn't quite their cup o' tea. Nevertheless, what a beautiful song!

  • Good goodd!!! :D

  • this song is perfect if the actuall "romeo and juliet" happened in modern times

  • @105Gmoney omg, are you serious? :/ he's not singing about the actual romeo and juliet.

  • @iiwolfeh oh i'm sorry, this is my first time listening to this song and i thought that is what he was talking about. could you tell me what it's about?

  • @105Gmoney

in this version romeo and julliet are both actors, and their in love, but when Julliet breaks through and Romeo, she dumps him, and he's singing about how he still loves her.

I think that's the basicly where the song is about.

  • @iiwolfeh There are a lot of references to Shakespeare's play. The themes in this song are very similar to the imagery sets in the play itself. Such as "Light Vs. Dark" " Fate" and " Stars". All of these themes can be found in the play itself. It may not be about them, but it's definitely been influenced by Shakespeare's play and makes some obvious references.

  • @iiwolfeh wow dude they didnt know dont have to be rude
