Great song, great album, great vocals inspired by Celtic Frost's music... I really love black metal, not satan, as the priests would say, i don't believe in satan and I don't worship him. " Triumphant Gleam " is one of my favourite Darkthrone songs!!! \m/
My only problem with this album is that the vocals are mixed too high for my taste. Also there's the way the guitars seem to get quieter when the vocals come in. Other than that this is my second favorite Darkthrone next to Blaze in the Northern Sky.
@666BlackMetaller666, I actually love the old Darkthrone material quite a bit. But there's something about their "fuck off to serious black metal" attitude as of late that's much more engaging.
Did you know that Mozart was a really happenin' dude? Yeah, man, he was all like "fuck off to serious Classical music".
Don't worry about the musician, worry about the music. Darkthrone will live longer than Fenriz and Nocturno Culto, and I'm willing to bet that early Darkthrone lives longer than later Darkthrone, because it's musically better.
@ExNihilMetal, not much, just choices of notes, chords and rhythms that stay with me, or at least merit additional listens in order to fully appreciate their complexity. I absolutely adore everything Darkthrone has ever done, but I listen to their newer material the most, probably because it reflects the kind of metal I enjoy listening to most; that is, 80s speed/thrash/black/death.
@666BlackMetaller666 Hey, what the hell are you talking about?? Circle de Wagon is an AMAZING album... you could dislike it, but it is still True Metal... I mean, Fenriz and Nocturno Culto both they are doing WHAT THEY WANT, not like Dimmu Borgir or Cradle of Filth...
They still care a fuck about what do people think about their music... That's the True Metal Attitude....
It's rather ironic you say that, because if you're implying Dimmu sold out, that means they REALLY give a fuck about what people think about their music, because selling out is the act of making music for the sole sake of sales. Know what I mean?
Anyway, I think we can all at least agree that Darkthrone has not sold out.
My favorite Darkthrone record. ANd I love this song. the solo is so fucking nasty and the production is shit. but hey thats what i love in metal. overproduced black metal defeats tha whole purpose
This is the epitome of TNBM. Things started to go downhill after this, with the exception of Darkthrone and Mayhem, Emperor and Cradle started overproducing their shit.
@csehszlovakze Sure for that period was very "experimental" when every other major band tried to play ultra fast. I like it so much either, being a huge Celtic Frost fan :)
It was a bad turn for the band when they sobered enough to do Total Death... though not sober enough to beat this one... though by listening to the nowadays shit they've lost even the last imagination.
Wasn't it great when Celtic Frost took over Darkthrone?

Celtic Frost influence in my Darkthrone? YOU DON'T SAY. Stop trying to look intelligent by stating the obvious.

True black metal WAS made by either old Mayhem/Darkthrone or with one or two members in band total.

The best song from the album PANZERFAUST.

Der beste song vom Panzerfaust-Album

@666BlackMetaller666, really, "Hail Satan?" It's exactly that kind of attitude that Darkthrone makes fun of in their newer releases.

yes in their new releases but not in the releases in the 20th century.

The Nibelungenlied isn't "catchy", but it's a damn sight better than the vast majority of Metal. What are your criteria for musical quality?
