Ray's song is too slow, though I do like his voice and the instrumental. Stuck between Cal Smith's and Strait's version, very hard to determine what is better.
I grew up on the original cut of Cal Smith, This is a remake by Cal which I don't like as well. I love George's and Ray's version as well, It is a great song and you can't miss on a great song by any of these legends.
All three are very, very, very good, if not excellent. And to say one is the best is to ask for an argument. Though I must confess, I like Mr. Price the best, guilty conscious... I guess.
There is no fair way I can decide! The last one I heard was by Ray, so right now would probably say him, but when I was hearing Cal and George they was the best!
So I will let someone else decide and just enjoy them. I honestly like all three very much!!!!!!!
It's not fair when you throw Ray Price in the mix. The voice quality is unbeatable....If Ray sings it....it's sung...case closed!!!

Unfair comparison. This isn't Cal Smith's original version, which sounded much better. So he's the best.

go Ray Price!!

I liked all three.. I have met all three so it is hard to make a choice...
George sings it more as a Texas Swing, which he is known for.
Cal did a good job too but did not do some of the notes that were written in the
song that Bill Mack put there.. but his voice is so deep maybe it was out of his range.
But my #1 Ray Price has to be the best of the three... to me it is a more sad song... ,a she got away song and some how George made it a boot scootin'
dancing song.
All were great,#1 Ray
