Because as he makes quite clear when he states "i am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by me." There aren't many truths. there is only one Truth. Jesus commands his disciples to make disciples and to preach his gospel to all the world not meant for the benefit of the world, but for the finding of his own.

The Eastern religions work more with the INNER CONSIOUSNESS, and the Western paths work more with the OUTER CONSCIOUSNESS. All historic religions are NOT the same, they are all very different, and that is what makes them amazing. Thats not to say one should diminish their faith in their own religion, or validate the other, or accept radical and dangerous religious extremism, but that within the norms of accepted religious practice we can approach each religious system with an attitude of reverence which can help us to learn more about how to understand and appreciate our own faith.

All religions are created to promote the exsistence of fundamental God/Godess or Gods. These are seen in ancient cultures as Sun Gods like the Mayans, Egyptians, Samarians, Greeks, etc. Catholics, Christians, Muslims, Jews, etc. believe in one God and the list goes on. The answer, of course is that since all the claims are supported by faith alone, it is impossible to identify any measure of truth in any single religion, much less determine which of the many religions represents an absolute truth.
