This is actually excellent exposure for Ron Paul. These two have quite a reach. It's apparent what their message is - they are pulling for Dr. Ron Paul.
Sorry, if I misunderstood your post and am responding inappropriately.
The current system increases the divide between the rich and the poor. All the other candidates don't talk about changing the system. What could possibly bring you to the conclusion that keeping the system as it is has any chance of reducing the divide? At least in a free market the poor get to ride the coat tails and become richer than they were. This is how the USA poor are richer than the poor elsewhere. Recently we've been losing ground though because of the restrictions and big gov't.
yeah, thats it, dont regulate the people making the most money just have faith that without a govt they will treat the lower people right and pay them decently. Yeah, it worked so well in the feudal times. Regulations are necessary to avoid abuse. this govt might not be doing the best job, but no govt or a small govt wont protect you at all.
Ok, go back before America had a government. If it was not put in place, we would still belong to England. Before the govt minted money you had to use gold or barter. There is not alot of gold, so they made bills to represent gold. After the great depression, FDR's work program brought America back to its feet. The Internet! If the US government had not helped build and subsidize the internet, do you think it would be as big as it is? The list goes on. Government is very important.
the depression happened before FDR, our first debtor president was actually Washington, Jefferson got us out of his debt. Yes FDR created debt, during his presidency it was necessary, after him we should have paid it back, the depression was caused by the age of the robber-barons and the consolidation of money.
Correct, the IRS and direct taxation of americans started in 1914. We also started printing Fiat money durring WWI. As part of the New Deal FDR outlawed americans from owning gold or using gold and money. He set the price of gold, then in 34 raised the price which devalued the dollar by 41%
But taxes are still necessary. Some people make 50-100 million a year while others cant afford to eat. 100 mil a year is overly excessive and that needs to be taxed. if thats allowed to continue with no taxing then eventually all the money will be with very few people and the rest will be forced into servitude.
Our debt started with FDR? FDR took office in 1933, the depression started in 1929. If he had not started the work programs our nation would have continued to suffer and fall deeper into depression. Don't forget Lincoln started the IRS in order to pay off civil war debts.
FDR blamed big business for the depression. The New Deal set our country into a socialist republic. Most all the government regulations and programs have ended now. Left are Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Reserve, and Social Security.
FDR did NOT solve the Great Depression. If anything, his idiotic soak-the-rich policies prolonged it, which was one of the reasons for the Republicans resurgence in Congress in 1938 and continuing double-digit unemployment into the late '30's. I'd strongly recommend you read Jim Powell's "FDR's Folly" for more details.
While it may have been possible for other courses of action to get us out of the depression sooner, FDR's programs were not wasted. They provided families with money and food, people who would have otherwise been completely unemployed. I realize that it was WW2 which finally ended the depression but FDR's programs WERE helping, how much they were helping is all speculation.
FDR was an autocratic President, ruthless to his political enemies (e.g., Hoover, Wendell Wilkie, Charles Lindbergh) and he brought this same bullying attitude to his economic programs. Why did the Supreme Court find the NRA unconstitutional, for example? The fact was that FDR's attempts to set prices, wages, etc. were pretty much socialistic and worked about as well as might be expected.
The entire country was against Hoover and I never said FDR's programs weren't socialist. All I said was that they were helping by putting people to work and giving them money for food and shelter. Society as a whole also benefited from the work of many of the programs. whether or not other programs would have been better, faster or worse is pure speculation since we can not go back and try them.
The whole country was *not* against Hoover, by any means. Go back and look at the newspaper and magazine editorials from the time. It's also worth noting that Hoover, in a lesser form, such as the Emergency Relief Organization, etc., set up many of the same policies as FDR.
Hoover was ridiculed for not acting as the country sunk deeper and deeper into debt. Whether he was at fault or not he was the one that America blamed. That was why his approval was so low and Roosevelt won the election by such a large margin.
Yes, it's called scapegoating. Hoover still pulled in almost 40% of the popular vote, which hardly indicates that there was a lynch mob waiting for him around every corner, although, naturally, there were plenty who blamed him regardless. His naturally aloof manner didn't serve him very well during a crisis, but the fact that he didn't sell himself or his policies well doesn't mean that the demonizing he received was fair or accurate.
...But, really, it's absurd continuing this conversation on a Ron Paul thread. As I said, come over to my home page, and we can argue all week, if you'd like, without boring everyone else.
Personally, ferus1920, I think debating the merits of FDR's watered-down socialism and its ill effects on this video page is kind of silly & out of context. If you want to continue, come over to my home page here and we can have at it as long as you'd like...
Laws are handled by the states. Read the constitution, it clearly states;
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
So the army is messed up to then? no where in the constitution does it say anything about a standing army. what about forcing electricity to rural areas? and again i will state, WHAT ABOUT THE INTERNET? they helped build that, thats not in the constitution, did they mess that up?
How can you be so right and so misguided at the same time?
The Constitution doesn't allow for a standing Army you're absolutely correct. It allows for a Navy to defend the Country from an invading attack.
Tyrants won't be any kinder to you for having defended them than to us true patriots that spoke out for liberty. It'll chew you and your family up, so why not come over to the side of liberty where your fellow countrymen await you with open arms - they await you with open hand cuffs sir.
what are you talking about? Are you implying libertarianism is what true patriotism is about. What side am I supposed to goto? The side of Ron Paul, conservative libertarianism? Its just not a sense able position to stand on. Humanity is not about "me, me, me", it should be the entire human race,
I have no cuffs on my hands for I understand the direction this country is headed, the ideals it was founded on and the reason that libertarianism is self destructive. Look 7 generations in the future, its not sustainable. People trying to be libertarian cant stop the march of fascism either, instead of being individuals we MUST work together to stop it.
Ok, we can argue about the Army, think about the $10K toilet seat. The military gives out contracts without bids too. (sometimes they have no other bids)
Electricity, well my families homestead was the 1st in the county to have electricy. This was not until the 30's/40's (I believe) Before that, they had delco batteries set up for lights. My parents had to pay big money to get city water and sewer. They also have to have a generator because every time it rains, they loose electricity for days sometimes. (Houston County TN) Yes my family has been there for 204 years.
Internet: Yes this is a result of the military (and not Al Gore) But our government has been trying to regulate it. How messed up do you think it will get if they start doing that????
yes, Ron Paul is one of the biggest guys in Washington fighting those that was to regulate the enternet. There are those that want it censered, and those that want to Tax it. Ron Paul is fighting both.....
Hell Jackie, just cut down all the nails and 12 oz. curls, get some sit-ups in and you'd be in fine shape to catch that monster! I know I'd watch that video and just think what it would do for your campaign!
Your first statement was that liberty's first two names was "Ron Paul". I found that statement funny simply on it's content. So I replied the two first names are more like "Statue of"... It's sarcasm... Get a personality man.
One things for sure, in my opinion Ron is a joke. Of course you can vote for anyone you like.
I have plenty of personality, actually too much they say. The people of the United States of America that think RON PAUL is a joke, they are sad excuses for Americans
Just because someone don't agree with you don't make them "sad excuses for Americans" Sir!!! You have your opinion, and I have mine... Get over it!!! If you want to support that loser then go ahead. I have the right not too... That is part of being an American. You claim to be a constitutionalist, why don't you read it...
I have read it, and know it by heart, that has nothing to do with people waking up in this country, getting their heads out of their asses before its too late, vote for whatever puppet you like, but I assure you this sir, their is only 1 man that isn't a puppet and cant be bought, and is the only hope for this country and thats RON PAUL, and when he isnt elected because of morons, in ten years you'll all be wishing you took your heads out of your asses and did the right thing
I like red state update. it's hilarious.

If the US government had not helped build and subsidize the internet, do you think it would be as big as it is? The list goes on. Government is very important.

Did you ever think that taking us off the gold standard, starting an IRS and taxing us caused the depression???
lets not forget that our debt started with FDR and grows by leaps and bounds ever sense.
PizzaGod 4 years ago
the depression happened before FDR, our first debtor president was actually Washington, Jefferson got us out of his debt. Yes FDR created debt, during his presidency it was necessary, after him we should have paid it back, the depression was caused by the age of the robber-barons and the consolidation of money.
ElCarcho 4 years ago
Correct, the IRS and direct taxation of americans started in 1914. We also started printing Fiat money durring WWI. As part of the New Deal FDR outlawed americans from owning gold or using gold and money. He set the price of gold, then in 34 raised the price which devalued the dollar by 41%
PizzaGod 4 years ago
But taxes are still necessary. Some people make 50-100 million a year while others cant afford to eat. 100 mil a year is overly excessive and that needs to be taxed. if thats allowed to continue with no taxing then eventually all the money will be with very few people and the rest will be forced into servitude.
ElCarcho 4 years ago
Our debt started with FDR? FDR took office in 1933, the depression started in 1929. If he had not started the work programs our nation would have continued to suffer and fall deeper into depression. Don't forget Lincoln started the IRS in order to pay off civil war debts.
ferus1920 4 years ago
FDR blamed big business for the depression. The New Deal set our country into a socialist republic. Most all the government regulations and programs have ended now. Left are Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Reserve, and Social Security.
PizzaGod 4 years ago
FDR did NOT solve the Great Depression. If anything, his idiotic soak-the-rich policies prolonged it, which was one of the reasons for the Republicans resurgence in Congress in 1938 and continuing double-digit unemployment into the late '30's. I'd strongly recommend you read Jim Powell's "FDR's Folly" for more details.
felixjazzage 4 years ago
While it may have been possible for other courses of action to get us out of the depression sooner, FDR's programs were not wasted. They provided families with money and food, people who would have otherwise been completely unemployed. I realize that it was WW2 which finally ended the depression but FDR's programs WERE helping, how much they were helping is all speculation.
ferus1920 4 years ago
FDR was an autocratic President, ruthless to his political enemies (e.g., Hoover, Wendell Wilkie, Charles Lindbergh) and he brought this same bullying attitude to his economic programs. Why did the Supreme Court find the NRA unconstitutional, for example? The fact was that FDR's attempts to set prices, wages, etc. were pretty much socialistic and worked about as well as might be expected.
felixjazzage 4 years ago
The entire country was against Hoover and I never said FDR's programs weren't socialist. All I said was that they were helping by putting people to work and giving them money for food and shelter. Society as a whole also benefited from the work of many of the programs. whether or not other programs would have been better, faster or worse is pure speculation since we can not go back and try them.
ferus1920 4 years ago
The whole country was *not* against Hoover, by any means. Go back and look at the newspaper and magazine editorials from the time. It's also worth noting that Hoover, in a lesser form, such as the Emergency Relief Organization, etc., set up many of the same policies as FDR.
felixjazzage 4 years ago
Hoover was ridiculed for not acting as the country sunk deeper and deeper into debt. Whether he was at fault or not he was the one that America blamed. That was why his approval was so low and Roosevelt won the election by such a large margin.
ferus1920 4 years ago
Yes, it's called scapegoating. Hoover still pulled in almost 40% of the popular vote, which hardly indicates that there was a lynch mob waiting for him around every corner, although, naturally, there were plenty who blamed him regardless. His naturally aloof manner didn't serve him very well during a crisis, but the fact that he didn't sell himself or his policies well doesn't mean that the demonizing he received was fair or accurate.

...But, really, it's absurd continuing this conversation on a Ron Paul thread. As I said, come over to my home page, and we can argue all week, if you'd like, without boring everyone else.
felixjazzage 4 years ago
Personally, ferus1920, I think debating the merits of FDR's watered-down socialism and its ill effects on this video page is kind of silly & out of context. If you want to continue, come over to my home page here and we can have at it as long as you'd like...

...where it passed laws and funded polices agencies to enforce them. Such as the no killing people law. And no stealing people law. heh.

Laws are handled by the states. Read the constitution, it clearly states;
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
PizzaGod 4 years ago
the power of the government is to "promote the general welfare" very vague, the govt has that power.
ElCarcho 4 years ago
Let me restate this, everything government messes with beyond what the federal government is suppose to do gets messed up.
Healthcare is a prime example, education is another, Homeland, Homeland security, EPA and so on.
PizzaGod 4 years ago
So the army is messed up to then? no where in the constitution does it say anything about a standing army. what about forcing electricity to rural areas? and again i will state, WHAT ABOUT THE INTERNET? they helped build that, thats not in the constitution, did they mess that up?
ElCarcho 4 years ago
How can you be so right and so misguided at the same time?
The Constitution doesn't allow for a standing Army you're absolutely correct. It allows for a Navy to defend the Country from an invading attack.
Tyrants won't be any kinder to you for having defended them than to us true patriots that spoke out for liberty. It'll chew you and your family up, so why not come over to the side of liberty where your fellow countrymen await you with open arms - they await you with open hand cuffs sir.
revolutn 4 years ago
what are you talking about? Are you implying libertarianism is what true patriotism is about. What side am I supposed to goto? The side of Ron Paul, conservative libertarianism? Its just not a sense able position to stand on. Humanity is not about "me, me, me", it should be the entire human race,
ElCarcho 4 years ago
I have no cuffs on my hands for I understand the direction this country is headed, the ideals it was founded on and the reason that libertarianism is self destructive. Look 7 generations in the future, its not sustainable. People trying to be libertarian cant stop the march of fascism either, instead of being individuals we MUST work together to stop it.
ElCarcho 4 years ago
Ok, we can argue about the Army, think about the $10K toilet seat. The military gives out contracts without bids too. (sometimes they have no other bids)
PizzaGod 4 years ago
a standing army in times of peace is unnecessary.

PizzaGod 4 years ago
Internet: Yes this is a result of the military (and not Al Gore) But our government has been trying to regulate it. How messed up do you think it will get if they start doing that????
PizzaGod 4 years ago
but they as of yet aren't regulating it, and regardless of that you must give credit where credit is due.
ElCarcho 4 years ago
yes, Ron Paul is one of the biggest guys in Washington fighting those that was to regulate the enternet. There are those that want it censered, and those that want to Tax it. Ron Paul is fighting both.....
PizzaGod 4 years ago
but the electricity was brought to you by the rural electrification act.

politicallyviewed 4 years ago
not even close, thats was a gift from the french in 1886 has nothing to do with the founding fathers liberty
wheelinco 4 years ago
Your first statement was that liberty's first two names was "Ron Paul". I found that statement funny simply on it's content. So I replied the two first names are more like "Statue of"... It's sarcasm... Get a personality man.
One things for sure, in my opinion Ron is a joke. Of course you can vote for anyone you like.
politicallyviewed 4 years ago
I have plenty of personality, actually too much they say. The people of the United States of America that think RON PAUL is a joke, they are sad excuses for Americans
wheelinco 4 years ago
Just because someone don't agree with you don't make them "sad excuses for Americans" Sir!!! You have your opinion, and I have mine... Get over it!!! If you want to support that loser then go ahead. I have the right not too... That is part of being an American. You claim to be a constitutionalist, why don't you read it...
politicallyviewed 4 years ago
I have read it, and know it by heart, that has nothing to do with people waking up in this country, getting their heads out of their asses before its too late, vote for whatever puppet you like, but I assure you this sir, their is only 1 man that isn't a puppet and cant be bought, and is the only hope for this country and thats RON PAUL, and when he isnt elected because of morons, in ten years you'll all be wishing you took your heads out of your asses and did the right thing
