''Draw Muhammad Day'' is a campaigne to ridicule and mock our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), this is a response to show his REAL and TRUE charactor, to show that Islaam is a religion of peace not violence. Those who are showing violence unfortunatly are not following the teachings of the Qur'aan and the Prophetic teachings regarding this. Due to this,Islaam is being attacked, and all Muslims are being labelled extreamists.

Ofcourse it is..then what is the meaning of doing it in the first place...please don't say it's freedom of speech because it's clearly not..it's freedom of insult. Just look at those videos of those who have participated in 'Draw Muhammad Day'..it's to ridicule Islaam and our prophet..drawing him as a teddy bear and what not.

As for my part, I've made a vid regarding how Muslims should react to this, many scholars are advising, we know our responsibility, but Islaam cannot be responsible for what others do that is against Islaam. Regarding those that are extream...they're not even representing Islaam at all.

In fact you have an obligation to stop them because they're killing people in the name of Islam. This is a beautiful story, but it doesn't lend any credibility to Islam. I'm all for holding on to the positive teachings of mohammed (love for your family, peace, tolerance of other religions, etc) and he was a very influential man in the real historical sense. However, why should modern cultures hold on to the negative aspects like lowered status of women and intolerance of apostasy? I don't mean to be offensive i'd just like to discuss the issue.

@LookingForJannah Sorry for butting in here. I did as you asked, LookingForJannah, and read the first article to appear after the search. The title was: "Some of the rulings on apostasy and apostates."

What I learned is that if a muslim becomes an apostate, he can repent and become a non-apostate again. But if he does not repent being an apostate, he shall be put to death.

Being swedish, I abhor any kind of death sentence. Why do you believe you have the right to end someone else's life?

Right my friend ..this is the guidance we are given.. and first of all in countries like the uk etc.. this is not the punishment.. the simple ruling is we'd cut ties with them and boycot them in everyway.. and yes in some islamic countries this is the ruling.. they wud not be allowed to come to our mosques etc. coz of theyre insolence and lack of sense theyd wrongly preach against islam when they know very lil about it..

..the wisdon behind this is that.. if a cancer spreads in your leg youd cut it off to save yourself not to kill you but to save you.. the person who is a muratd due to his lack of understanding is not put on this ruling straight away.. he is given around 3-4 days to speak with people and for the religious scholars to go and speak to him.. if he rectifies than its all good but if he doesnt he doesnt..
