Of course its a crane. The only work of the devil is the trickery these people do to mess with peoples minds. Not one shot showed directly above him. You would have then seen the boom of the crane. Airline ropes are used which are incredibly strong but will not show up against the bright sky.

Perhaps the trick is something different, however nothing in this video could not have been done with editing, acting, and crane manipulation. That's the key to solving most magic tricks is, to realize how many things the magician can fool you with, and assume the simplest trick. If something comes up which refutes that guess, then take that into account while you try again :P
