Uhhhg yet another squat video with bad form. I don't think I can stand it any longer, in the gym or on video lol. Does ANYONE understand how to perform this lift correctly??
This half ass barerly parallel 167 feet wide shit is spreding through the web like disease. What the fuck is going on? Don't you people know how squat is supposed to look like? Check Tom Platz 500 pounds for 23 reps, Brozknows 800 pounds or any olympic weightlifter how to properly squat. Close stance, all the way down, stop on the bottom and than all the way up. No 167 ply squat suit, no belt size of truck tire, no 3 miles long wrist and knee wraps What is this?.
The people who say it isnt low enough are dumb imo. Parallel knee/hip isn't the holy grail of squats like some of you twinks seem to think it is. Go to a powerlifting gym sometime
@iratelyblank I've been in Contests and watched a guy just like this fail all three attempts for not going deep enough same weight and he was like 5'4... failed all 3 :) because....HE WASN'T GOING DEEP ENOUGH
this is reallly impressive, not gonna insult u about form its pretty damn close to parallel, you're pushing you're butt back and not letting your knees go over your feet. BRAVO!
This guy is a tank. He is squatting close stance because he is targeting his quads, because, hmmm, I don't know.,.........he might be a bodybuilder?
Try taking a close stance squat with your toes pointed forward with an appreciable amount of weight down to ass to grass, and I bet you won't be able to without some severe back rounding.
Rounding your back with 455 fucking pounds seems like a bad idea to me.
Drop the weight if you can't handle going parallel with it. You're strong thought but I'd suggest going down a bit lower so that you're not doing quarter squats. Ends up just messing up your knees if you can't go parallel with the weight.
The 1st rep was pretty much letter perfect. Depth was only an issue on the last rep, the first 2 were good. You might wanna try placing the bar aliitlt lower on your back/shoulders, ant try widening your stance a little. That would help you keep your back straighter. Very impressive though!! 455x3 is awe inspiring!
Dude is strong for sure but nowhere near parallel, problem is knees are going forward at the same rate hips are dropping, knees need to be shoved out and hips sit between thighs to hit depth (regardless of low bar versus high bar style).
He's doing what I do a lot and rounding his back at the bottom. I've found that by taking a wider stance and flaring the knees slightly outward remedies that so he should definitely be taking a wider base for this heavy a load.
I used to do that alot but i learned from another squatting video on youtube than rounding the back is more harmful than an arch and it happens alot on squats with a narrow stance and leg presses. The guy also taught me to try to seperate the floor between my legs and push out with my feet when i squat for more gluteal recruitment and it adds some pounds to your squat and is healthier.
one of the major lies ever thrown around period. The human body is designed to ass to grass squat. Deeper the better, your knees will THANK you. If you don't beleive me, learn the biomechanics of the squat and the physiology of the knee joint. Don't beleive that, do 2 months of hard training doing plenty of squats to 90, then do 2 months of ass to grass squatting. Find out for yourself.
@jediknight69 agreed...people's heads spin when i say it but my knees actually ache if i done squat for a while..like if i take time off..squats make my knees feel great people just dont understand
@jediknight69 yaaa when i try A2G squats my lower back rounds off and my knees actually dont feel better so wat then? Parallel squats are plenty enough
@jediknight69 most people can do it, but not all, my old boxing trainers knees couldn't keep up with a 90 degreee 60 kg squat. so he didnøt squat for that very reason
not taking away from this lift, but some of those reps looked pretty questionable, inpaticular the 2nd one, was a good few inches away from paralell. Ps. stop getting so damm big.
You must be the same type of muscle mutant as my brother-in-law; the guy is 47 and just recently stopped doing 500 in the bucket because he hurt his knee; here's to a long strong life!
@Crazyhilo there's not much to explain. He's 6 inches shy of a legal squat.

"Breathe Blake"
what a dumbass...breathing while you're standing and watching people lift is not the same as breathing while you're squatting...
