@Drfat4 depends on who you are I guess.. Try just straight riding into the woods on a quad, good luck fitting your constantly looking for a way through. Dirt bike just ride it where ever you want.

@Naptownstreetsquid you still have to go way slower, and if you are just going where ever and theres leaves everywhere and you can't see the sticks they'll probably knock you over. Another problem I find is bumps, if you're going too quick I find they send you flying into the trees.

@Drfat4 well ive ridden both and they both have advantages, some trails id rather be on a dirt bike and others id rather be on quad... I can tell you if its really muddy quad for sure... Now if the trail is really dry I prefer dirt bike and I personally am just as fast if not faster. Another thing to consider is if you ride at off road parks all the trails are generally really wide but if you can ride a dirt bike on much tighter trails on personal property easier, and go anywhere you want.

I have a shitty chineese pit bike and a 1977 enduro, so I really can't say too much about full sized dirtbikes and what they would be like on the trails. I just ride around through the bushes around my house, which are not hardly used at all exept by me so most are in too rough of shape for dirtbiking on. Especially when they have four wheeler ruts everywhere or downed trees. But it's all personal preferance.

Two strokes quad werent reliable anymore. Four stroke quads are more reliable and dont rattle apart due to lower rpm. Also racing a quad is 100% harder, if you do not agree you are an idiot who has obviously never tried to race one. Also the aspect of dirt bikes being stronger totally depends on the quad so your wrong. Quads can be just as capable as dirtbikes and even more so in some situations. And lastly quads dont intentionally take up the whole track. But they do not run with dirt bikes so

Both are great for both trails and track but if you want the trx 250 I would just get the trx300ex . Its not much bigger much better quad. Chain driven.manual clutch.more power. But still has reverse. Or stay away from sport quads and go with a utility. Or just get a bike. Just get what you think you will enjoy the most. These are just recommendations

Im guessing munkeman95 that u are 16 so if you are learning (first-timer) you should get a yamaha ttr 230 or a honda crf 230 f. If you are a expierienced rider i would suggest a rm 250 2-stroke or yz 250 or cr 250 and so on.

I've got a crf 250r that been tuned for more torque, sure its top speed is about 65KM!! but itll kick the shit out of any other 250 in the forest. You can have a moped that does 170km down a hill, it doesnt make it fast.

The quads will go in snow and thick sand much easier than a dirtbick but once i rode a dirtbike, just that feeling of mobility like when you turn sharp and just lean into it rather than slowing down a little and leaning the other way to balance it rather than to help it turn better. SO either a crf150f (trail bike because i ride trails) or a trx250x quad (both made by honda)

@poopRscoop14 My dad has alot of quads and dirtbikes. Ltz400, Crf150f, Crf150rb and more.. Ive spent my fair share of time around them. First thing I have ever ridden was a quad and now I ride and race dirtbikes. Quads I would say are more practical for long trail rides but require more maintenance then dirtbikes. Dirtbikes dont require as much work but are harder to ride. I cant make the decision for you. No one can. But I like dirtbikes more then quads. There all fun so you decide .
