they are WILD animals and will act instinctively like any animal will do. they will get spooked and run, it may look like they are charging you but in fact they have such poor eyesight that they do not see you
Just about bumped into a pack of them tonight while I was walking into a wash... Not sure how many there were, but I saw a few. One of them was huge. They got startled and grunted at me, but didn't run away. Needless to say, I had to take a detour...
one got stuck in my yard one time in tucson, it strayed from its family, it was only a cub. and i raised it on milk, kept it on a leesh and later began feeding it taco bell and other dog food, it enjoyed it and became a healthy adult and i let it back into the wild
Javelinas are sooo pretty !!!! x3 i love them. we found an abandoned newborn javelina once . we kept him in the house and he even tought he was one of the dogs lol he used to sleep in the couch and watch tv with us, he grew old and we have this ranch, so we first kept him in a small pen and afterwards we released him. javelinas are very dangerous. they are short on sight they can barely see thats why theyr so agressive. no animal shelters or rescue center we live on mexico :)
Nice video. I just saw a javelina running down the side of the road in my neighborhood. They will go after dogs that they feel are threatening them. They are powerful and can do a lot of damage. But they are neat animals.
Ussully they are docile, they don't attack unless they feel threatened or protecting their young. There are a few towns in Arizona where javelinas are all over residential areas. One of my friends did have to shoot and kill one once as it charged at him, he keep a .357 magnum on him. He said the group got spooked and scattered and one ran at him.
I wonder how they taste
