  • can you use tape to hold it

  • it took you nearly 7 fucking minets to make one 1/3 of a unit ?

  • AdamsSara did u use tape

  • do you use card or thin paper to make silver rectangle?

  • adamssara, i can't find A size paper? please reply me

  • @rockonman no

  • if i cut an a4 sized paper both one time horizontally and vertically halfway through the paper , will i still have the same ratio

if not how can i get more pieces out of the a4 sized sheet?

  • can u use square paper

  • can you just fold a piece of printer paper in half 4 times

  • oh srry

  • how do u make the units

  • a cant do it at all i cant evin do the cube to hard boo

  • this thing is so cunfusing i dont now how you can evin fold it

  • please halp halp HALP! Im confused on the left hand modules!

  • oh, sorry, my bad... from A4 sized paper can be cutted 8 A7 sized sheets...

  • one A4 sized paper can be cut in 4 A7 sized paper so i need... 8 A4 sized sheets?

  • thumbs up if you are using an A4 paper. ;)

  • can you please answer my question, i was wondering if i can make another one and put them two together? im asking this because u didnt show the full cube u only made the half cube, and if this doesnt make any sense, please let me know and ill try to explain this a lil better, so please try to get back to me as soon as possible please

  • some big ass origami lets see if i can make a smaller one

  • is the paper a scrare or a rectangle

    \

  • @darkdesi1234 It's a silver rectangle, so the ratio is 1 by square root of 2. This is the same ratio as A4, A5, etc paper has.

  • Just wondering, what is the level of difficulty on this model?

  • @55lalalalala55 The most difficult part of this model is assemblying the units. Still, I'd say it's a low intermediate piece.

  • very nice tutorial but the black background makes me a little sleppy i actually fell asleppe *-* maybe it's just me THANKS!

  • Sara can u make a video on how to make the a7 (74mm by 105mm please if u can thank u

  • @cookiemonster123254 Check the video description for links on how to get A-sized paper. As for a video, I'll think about it.

  • @cookiemonster123254 easy get a regular piece of printer paper(A4) fold in half short edge to short edge

tear/cut this is A5 repeat short to short cut/tear and this is A6 and once more repeat and cut/tear you will get A7(A7 is half of A6 witch is half of A5 witch is half of A4)

  • I LIKE IT,, I WAS THE 100.!! Thanks for the video :D

  • i dont get it paper is heavy?

  • @darkangel78917 Everything has a weight. Different paper has a different weight. It's measured in grams per square meter, for example, to standardize it.

  • wait does letter mean copy paper?

  • @darkangel78917 In the US and Canada copy paper will have letter format. Everywhere else it has A4 size.

  • hint: i found out, that if u cut up a regular sheet of printer paper into 8 equal peices, the size will be perfect 4 making the origami instead of getting all mathematical :]

  • @TheComedyluvr Your tip only works for A4 paper. so whether it works depends on where you live. I t won't work in the US and Canada, where they use letter-sized printer paper, rather than A4.

  • Can I use bigger paper that is still 1: root 2 ratio? I want to make a large one D:

Will it be hard to put it together?

  • @fluffybananacake Yes, as long as the ratio is the same, you can use larger paper. If you use much larger paper, you will probably also have to use heavier paper.

  • best vid ever but i made so much a papers that i got cuts on my fingers for folding too much xD

  • Ok I love the tutorial! Very detailed but how I connect those to make the cube?! o.O thanks!

  • I have a question: Do you need index cards? Because mine wouldn't hold together, and I had to use tape :(

  • @wong2008a This model works with different kinds of paper but I prefer using slightly heavier paper for the units, and thinner paper for the hinges. I've folded this model using the same, thin paper for both and that worked out ok, too.

  • uh... i watch this video because i was stuck on step 11 on the book ,so thanks you helped me a lot , oh and for everyone :

you must have a6 paper to make this model (104 x 148 mm)

  • does it work with the dimensions: 3" x 5" or 7.6cm x 12.7cm?

  • @mizakzee No, that ratio doesn't work. The ratio needs to be about 1 by 1.414, so use 3 inch by 4.25 inch paper instead.

  • @AdamsSara thank you

  • can i use a square piece of paper??

    tb please

  • @CirciSurfMusic No, you cannot start with a square. The ratio needs to be about 1 by 1.414, so for example use 3 inch by 4.25 inch paper.

  • never mind.. XDD

  • how do i do the right hand units?

  • How many inches is that paper for both sides please respond

  • @MooseDude498 3inches by 4.25inches

  • Oh mein Gott!

  • @bergulme Gern geschehen!

  • so cool ...amazing . .. . thumbs up dude

  • when u said 32 peices i wuz like omgz i cant do this....

  • should i use cardstock paper or a4 printer paper

  • @ROBLOXOrigami I'd use cardstock for the units, printer paper for the hinges.

  • that really helps alot but i was to lazy to do all of that

  • Can i cut printer paper into the size used?

  • @ORiGAMi143 Sure, you can always cut paper to the size required.

  • This is an excellent video on how to make the double star flexicube great job!

  • can i just cut a a4 paper into 4 piece?

  • @levinchau123 Yes, you can. As long as you cut it into 4 pieces by halving each side length once. :)

  • Will A11 sized paper work because i tried and it didnt work out it was either the paper or me

  • @7459cinnamonroll A11 (1.8cm by 2.6cm) sounds quite small. Maybe try working with larger paper first.

  • Lemon. :D

  • Its called the Yoshimoto Cube, not flexicube

  • thats a lot of paper, and thats bad for the enviroment

  • @JeaMel9 shut up u hippy

  • i made two its soo easy with ur great directions thanks i did mine with green red and blue it looks so cool took 4 ever though

  • does regular or card stock work better?

  • @brutlwarrior I recommend regular paper for the hinges, card stock for the units. Don't use too heavy card stock though, else creasing it will be very difficult.

  • ohh man. i accidentaly clicked 5 stars. i wanted to click 10*

  • Thank you so much!!! best origami teacher on youtube! show everything and speaks:) 5* and sub from me

  • we can only use A7 sized paper or any kind of paper(size)

  • You can use any paper that has the same aspect ratio (1 by square root of 2). All A-sized paper has that ratio.

  • WhAt iS ThE LeNgTh oF ThE PaPeR aDaMsArA

  • @MultiJolina Check the video description for details.

  • @MultiJolina the size its probably A7, 74mm x 105mm or 2"7/8 x 4"1/4, best of it just fold the A4 size sheet of paper in half verticaly and fold it twice horizontali which in the end its gona leave u a print of 8 equal pieces.

  • hey sara!

im trying to make it but i need the length of the paper so if you can reply thanks!

  • she put a link to get to a site that shows how

  • could you do this with less pieces of paper?

  • Not if you want to follow the instructions in this video.

  • @AdamsSara Well, assuming you want the same size cube as the video, you can do it with 4 pieces of A4 paper, simply by cutting them in half three times. Its still 32 pieces all up, but easier to purchase. This might not be obvious to people unfamiliar with the nature of A-series paper.

You can also use 2 pieces of A3 or 1 A2 sheet.

  • how do i get mine to quit falling apart im DESPERATE for the answer, ive wasted a lot of paper trying to find out why

  • too confusing at 5:40 needs to be explained in more detail

  • Can i use a paper 8cmx7cm

  • Where do you get the A sized paper without cutting it from a sqare or whatever?

  • In the US and in Canada your standard office paper has letter format. I'm not sure how easily you can buy A4 paper there. I'm guessing office stores or stationaries might sell them.

Everywhere else in the world A4 paper is readily available in just about any shop that sells paper.

  • Ok, say i used index cards. Will the lines ever show if i don't cover them with colored cardstock or sticky notes? Thank you so much for the video. Love the model! SO ADDICTING! :)

  • If you use patterned paper (e.g. lines), then you will of course still see the pattern once the paper is folded. Depending on the pattern it might not be very obvious, but I really can't say if that's so for your index cards. Just try folding one unit and check whether you're fine with the result. If so, continue with the other units - if not, well, I guess you'll have to find some other paper or prepare the index cards before folding. Hope this helps.

  • OH nvm i got it :)

  • i got confused at 5.40 :(

  • so the left hand module is pretty much the same thing but mirrored when you open it up after the inside reverse?

  • Yes, the left hand module is the exact mirror image.

  • Lots of bad comments...thnx on the paper ratio diagram (: I'm gonna have so much fun with it! (^^)

  • Im like..new to all this but Idunno wut A4 paper is, so can I just take a square paper and split it into 2 to get 1 of the papers?

  • Please check the video description for links to pages that describe how to get A-sized paper.

  • those 2 posts beneath this one arent very nice posts...

u guys do like insulting ppl dont u

  • a4 the size that is used in the tutorial because ive never seen a size and i thought it keeps getting bigger

  • it is so fun to play with

  • is cardstock good

  • Comment removed

  • very good tutorial

  • you have a beautiful relaxing voice

  • how to u get the a7 paper cutted out

  • yu cut it with a paper cutter or a ruler and zizzors to 3 inch by 4 and a fourth inches

  • that was really cool. nice nice!

  • i love your videos. they're so awesome!

  • its a bit confusing

  • what paper type u need for this origami?pls reply...tnx..

  • I'd recommend using slightly heavier paper for the modules (e.g. 100gsm), and normal paper for the hinges (e.g. 80gsm).

  • Thank you soo much!!!! I totally love your video editing on lines in some of your videos. I've been watching your videos for quite a while.. I love origami... I have been looking for this model a long time as well. You roooccckkkk! :-]

  • @daxter801:

    A size paper have the dimensions of 1 : √2, or 1 : 1.41421 in numbers.

  • so a4 is a paper?

  • qwerty, just measure 74mm by 105mm on 8.5 x 11 inch paper, cut it out, and you got one piece.

  • i give this video 0-10 no details and you dont show how to get the size of the paper and thats how it got its rating because good origami people show there work on how the get into the size of the paper

  • Brilliant Origami hahaha i bought that book when i was 3rd grade and i gave up when i got to this model. Thank God someone was able to make this xD

  • that is quite cool but a little confusing...

  • whats the a size paper is that a rectangle paper thank you =) please reply

  • Thank You so much ive been looking on line on how to make this, now ive found it! Awesome job!

  • one question. i usually glue my modular origami if possible, and the question is will it alter the function of the star flexi cube at all if i glue it? im just asking because if its something like the butterfly ball that cant function with glue, and i glue it, that would be just a little bad...

  • Yes, you can. You can glue the units, if you like, and then again the 3-unit half-cubes. Then you can glue the hinges onto the half-cubes, just be sure that you get them all in the right place, and ensure that they stay flexible.

  • Well, just because people do it doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do.

  • i thought it as a paper 2x2 rubiks cube at the beginning. this is very cool.

  • are those note cards?

  • ...these use so much paper!

  • woooooooow this is the coolest thing that i've seen

  • I want to do that but I cant

  • hey can you use a index card

  • That depends what the proportions of the index card are. You need to have a ratio of 1:sqrt(2).

  • thats freaking kewl!!!!

  • is it possible to make one with a5 ??

  • hey sorry for the randomness? lol but can i have a request on KAWASAKI ROSE ?

  • I will not be doing any videos on Kawasaki-san's designs, because he doesn't want videos to be posted. I respect his wish.

  • did you know if you make two they can combine and make a full box

  • How do you get the papers that small.

  • i have always wanted to know how to make that but your tutorials can be better explained. Or make a better tut. Please tell me where you learned that because that looks IMPOSSIBLE!

  • Sorry to hear you think my tutorial isn't good. I actually thought this one was one of my best thus far, and didn't see all that much room for improvement (as to instructions). Ah well, opinions differ.

  • hmmm...is there a specific part of this tutorial that confuses you? It seems pretty straight forward to me... Sara even adds in dotted black lines which is something unseen in every other tutorial I've seen.

  • You are amazing, do you have any good designs for a present I'm gonnal give to my teacher. I'm only 11 but I lile to think as my self as a semi pro. TheoX

  • Hm, how about folding an origami book, or a small library of books?

  • thats totally cool! i have no patience tough so... good luck 2 every one else. o and if u wanna make me 1 then send it 2 me that would be awesome : ]( jk jk)

  • thats alot of freakin paper.

  • since u can use any A size congratz to da gy who makes one with 32 A1 sheets lol

  • could you make another one and put that 2nd one inside the other when the other is in the box shape?

  • Yes, indeed. But then you'll need 64 sheets of paper. :)

  • but to make the other star do i have to change the order in which i assemble it so that it fits in the other star?

  • If you assemble both of them the same, then the star will still fit into the cube. But when you unroll both stars, and put them on top of each other, then they will not fully cover each other. For that you will indeed have to assemble slightly differently. You'll have to move the two modules on the left end to the right end.

  • aahh ok thank you AdamsSara your videos were very helpful while i was folding your simple tutorials on certain folds and your complete tutorials on models from famous origami designers (im not sure if they are known by that profession)thanks again for posting

  • I would like to recommend the Origami Magic Ball for a YouTube video, you are excellent at explaining things and although i can fold the model I do not think that the other explanitory videos on the model quite cut it. Many thanks for yet another fun thing to fold up.

    -Nate

  • how do you make these rectangles from A4 paper?

  • If you've got A4 paper, just cut it in half several times (halving the long edge). E.g. 2 A5 fit into one A4, 4 A6, 8 A7, 16 A8.

  • do you just cut them in half once or more?

  • Yes.

  • t u after months of asking i gave up that u would make it then this ure a huge spurise

  • Me 2.

    Thanks Sara.

I've been waiting for this one :)

  • OMG i have to Do this one!!!!!
