  • That's a neat keyboard.

  • With 0 dislikes, you know this is an incredible song. It gives me chills every time.

  • It's all about the BEAUTY of the BIG picture!

    In order to SEE it,

you've got to LIVE it :)

  • This song sounds dangerous

  • My husband and I were 19 and 21 when we married 32 years ago. We have 7 biological children and 3 adopted children. Life has been full of mindfields and hardships and much grace and mercy. My son found this song and as a mothers day gift he sent it to me and his dad. Thank you for this song, it fills the heart of my entire family

  • Great video! Inspiring.

  • Beautiful. Praying to have a romance like that one day...

  • @FightLikeFire Love goes so far beyond romance. It contains all the tears my wife and I have shared, and all the laughter. It runs with our children, and comforted us from so many dangers beyond what we could defeat on our own. It is God's devotion to us in all that is good within us, and our flawed attempts to devote ourselves to Him. I pray one day you will have something far beyond romance.

  • Where is the repeat button?? It gets old having to press play every 3 1/2 minutes.

  • @Fastshot01 not sure if anyone has answered you yet, but if you use firefox you can go to google and type in youtube repeat add on and it will put it under each video after you download it.

  • I LOOOVVVEEE this song, me and my bf are making this our songc;

  • My sister just got married yesterday. Their first dance, was to this song. That was the time when I cried the most. I love my sister and I am not loosing her, but gaining a brother. God bless.

  • On November 3 I was diagnosed with leukemia. I never thought when we said our vows 12 years ago that we would deal with the in sickness and in health so soon. The 1st time that my wife left me at the hospital when she started the car this song came on. I tear up just thinking of that moment and I thank God for uplifting her in a minefield moment. I don't know what the future holds but I know one thing God has given me a great wife and blessed me with so much. We are dancing in the minefields.

  • @ubicpastorjosh amen!

  • Put this soundtrack to a montage of your home videos and give it to your spouse as an anniversary present! Damn, it's a beautiful tribute to commitment.

  • Put this soundtrack to a montage of your home videos and give it to your spouse as an anniversary present! Damn, it's a beautiful tribute to commitment.

  • lovely.....i still believe and will find again....

  • i love the story behind this song :)

  • Yesterday was me and my girlfriends, 1 year anniversary.

  • FU##@#@ INCREDIBLE!!!!

  • This is such an uplifting song. I recently got married. I met my husband in high school, and married him less than a year after graduation. Alreday we have faced many storms. My husband is a soldier in the army and this alone is difficult. The statistics for military marriages lasting is not good, but with God, perserverance, prayers, and encouraging messages like this song sends I know we will withstand the storms.

  • God sent this song to me at a time when I was ready to give up on my marriage. It's amazing how clearly God speaks to you when you open your heart to Him and are willing to listen.

  • I can get tired of watching and listenig the song!

  • love this song :)

  • Such a sweet song!

  • when i first heared this song on the radio i instally though of my marriage and te problems we are fighting our way through TOGETHER. That is the only way and we are making it. The promise is binding and through god you can make it all work out. Love should be made a verb and you have to take action to make it work. god bless those who keep the promise

  • Beautiful! You don't really know what love is until you've danced through some minefields in your marriage. Old love is so worth all the trials you go through in life. To give up and go separate ways is so sad. It's something you can't go back and change. Life with the same person for most of your life is fulfilling and comfortable. It feels "Just right".

  • My wife and I have gone through many tough times. We only survived due to "The Promise". Too often people forget the promise and just give up. Andrew has yet again written a marvelous story/song.

  • I am also praying for you! One day every knee will bow and confess that Jesus is Lord. There will be no more sorrow, anger, hatred, sin, frustrations, trials,...it will be singing the name of Jesus for all of eternity! I can't wait. I hope you no longer wish it was true, but see it as truth and dedicate your life to him! God Bless!

  • @eagledestiny81 - My dear friend, there will come a day when everyone will recognize the truth of Jesus being the Savior of the World. Until then, I will be praying for you. The peace and security of having help in such a complicated venture such as marriage (the joining of two lives) will alway be welcomed. Why spread negativity? What does that solve? Exactly...

  • Love :)

  • this song reminds me of my mom and who were married for 61 years

  • im 19 and getting married this summer, this song is perfect. I love it!

  • For love is joy, the love has been given Jesus don't let it pass you love is patient it is waiting for you GOD is waiting

  • My husband and I got married when i was 34 and he was 42- BUT it did not work. Sometimes age does not matter.

I was sobbing the first time I heard this song...

  • ‘I do’ are the two most famous last words--The beginning of the end

But to lose your life for another, I’ve heard, is a good place to begin

Cause the only way to find your life is to lay your own life down

And I believe it’s an easy price for the life that we have found

~Truthful, beautiful lyrics by Andrew Peterson

  • I just love this song. I hope someday I can convince my boyfriend to allow this to be our wedding song, even though he is not a believer, I am and he knows it is very important to me, so it would be the ultimate concession for him I think:)

  • @lazyloperstables hey! hun, do remember what the Bible says about being "unequally yoked," especially if you really love him. you wouldn't want to hurt either of you--plz check out 1 Cor 6:14 and the book of Ezra

  • I have a friend that married a man who is not a believer. He is a great guy but she wouldn't do it again knowing what she knows now. She thought he would get saved. When you marry an unbeliever you are handicapping your marriage. You are limiting your ability to follow God because you are joined to someone who doesn't. You are a single strand of rope which is easily broken. You will need a strong Christian husband when facing trials. Please think about it. Your kids will thank you.

  • @mbhanscom Only the weak rely on some sort of divine inspiration to live past the struggles and conflict in their life. Don't get me wrong, it's a great concept. And a thing I'd love for to be true, but it just isn't.

  • I love this video!

  • For Love is Joy the love has been given Jesus Do not let it pass you love is patient it is waiting for you God is waiting.

El Amor es gozo El Amor ya es dado Jesus No lo deje pasar Amor es paciente te esta esperando Dios te espera

  • in the same boat jcruz~feel the same way about this song.

  • I want this to my wedding song!

  • Ahavah

  • @ringwaul I think you miss out on alot of little things in life. Over analyzing things a bit? I actually find myself doing that many times also. But I think that it's because of my high blood pressure and stress. Go comment on a lady gaga video. I think the song is about trusting in God even if you do get hit by a mine. Don't be afraid of the mines. This song probably isn't meant to be taken literally.

  • This so speaks to us......

  • Happy Valentines Day, Baby!!! Love you lots!!!

  • Great song...I appreciate the artist for letting us know that marriage is not always peaches and cream, but with God it is a success already. Praise the Almighty God!

  • @ringwaul - are you married?

  • @Ringwaul

The artist is using a metaphor of doing something that others would view as careless. I'm sure he did not mean to offend or find humor in those who are injured or killed by such autrocities of those mentioned above. The ministry of Jesus was based on Loving God and others, not finding light in people's misfortunes. Quite franky, if you find the song this disturbing, don't listen to it, I personally will not listen or view things that are offensive to myself.

  • "minefields" in this song are not referring to real mines. He is talking about the minefields and storms of life in general. It means that even though life throws bad things at us and lays traps to tear apart our relationships you can stand firm in God. Their love is so strong that they can take life's hits and dance through them together. He mentions walking through a "shadowland" and there is nothing to fear because God and the love of his wife gets him through.

  • @Ringwaul

I understand your feelings. The song was about Praising God in the midst of horrific loss and sticking together through it! Marriage is llike a minefiled you never know when you might just step on a mine and completely distroy the life you once knew, the death of a child, a child who has an incurable disease,a spouse who has had cancer and survived the disease. The artist was not praising minfields or the loss they bring but rather making an analogIy.

  • @musicluvnmomof2 Your answer is definitely the first one I can agree with. Petty fights between spouses are not worth being compared to such things.

  • @Ringwaul i think you've hit the nail on the head more than you know...

  • @Ringwaul check out the lyrics for andrew's song "love is a good thing" also.

  • Wow... I'm 19, my boyfriend is 21... we plan on getting engaged this year.. but keep getting told "You're too Young".. when I was at work today I heard this song... and I just had to stop and listen... its just what I needed.

  • @gypsygal2006

    And I'm the 21 year old...... :*) .

Thanks for sending the video =) absolutely amazing song.... LOVE YOU! ^_^

  • @amitrius ^_^ love you too so much.... we can make this.... we will make this... I can't wait to spend the rest of our life together

  • @gypsygal2006

Between our dedication and determination, and His help... We've got everything we need ^_^. I cant wait either!!! :D

  • my sissy wants to play this at her wedding! she will be 19 when her boyfriend is 21, but there not gonna get married right then, but still!!! aww this is so cut, i love it:)

  • @rachaelsbird1 ok, I accepted the friend invite. Still not sure where to go from there as on my phone I didn't see an option to send messages. So I guess if you message me it will send me an email. :-)

  • Does anyone know what guitar the backing guitarist is using?

  • IS THIS ROB SCHNEIDER?

  • My parents have been married for close to 50 yrs and they are now in the "shadowlands" of life...my dad has cancer and alzheimers...the line from the song 'and when I forget my name, remind me' is so very poignant... learning to hang on to promises we've made and the promises of God to make all things new...beautiful song!

  • Wow! I just heard this song on Family Life Radio tonight. How beautiful!! It's perfect b/c I thought, wow, how'd they write a song that fits us soo well?! We celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary in less than 2 weeks! Thanks for this, Andrew. =)

  • My wife and I found each other 4 yrs ago at 55 yrs. old, through the internet,, as we were led by the Holy Spirit. Many miracles and trust have given us a wonderful marriage and Love. "We bear the light of the son of man, so there's nothing left to fear"...........how true. Love is only true in the Messiah, his will for you. Shalom!!!

  • i have been married for 17 years and stepped on some of the minefields. but andrew reminds me and my wife that Jesus will always be with us. No matter what minefield you step on as a married couple remember the promise God made to you and take the D word of the table.

  • Beautiful. Thank you.

  • The hardest thing to do is succeed when everyone else doubts you. My husband and I got married at 18 and 19. And if I could go back, I would do it exactly the same. I thank God everyday for giving us the chance to love each other the way He loves us! This song is wonderful! And very true!!!!!

  • I always say to my girlfriend let's go dancing in the minefields and go sailing in the storms ever since I have heard this song

  • WEDDING SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Me and my woman are going through this...so much encouragement

  • first time a song has ever made my cry...

  • beautiful.. really. i want to play this at my wedding.

  • Amazing.

  • wow...excellent!

  • Great song. Perfect for my wife and I. We were 19 & 21. It's been 11 years. That's what the promise is for.

  • 1:46+ best . I heard this song last night . Cant get it out of my head. His voice seems so pure . I love it

  • This song is beautiful!

  • If my first wife and I had known what Andrew is singing about we might still be married. But God is good and my second wife and I inviteed God into our marriage, and this song says it all!!!!

  • Wow the first time I heard this song my heart caught the beat in about 5 seconds. All trough the song I kept thinking about my marriage and all the struggles we have gone through. When we became Christians and started to learn how to build our marriage on him, the struggles weren't so impossible. We could "dance" were ever we wanted knowing that if we continued to grow in him we were protected from some of the stuff that catches others so quickly.

  • this is so close to our actual story it's scary!

  • this is so close to our actual story it's scary!

  • My English Teacher played this song in class.I immediatly fell in love with it. Now I'm addicted. :D <3

  • my husband is going to prison soon, i will find out how long he has on january 13th. why he is in jail and him being in jail since june has tested our marriage and strength beyond belief. we have also had a fairly rocky ten years. he heard this song in jail and told me he wept, and asked me to listen to it, and of course, i wept as well. could you pray for us? we love each other so much, and right now everything is so hard.

  • I will add you to my prayers. Please put God first in your life and He will take care of all your needs regardless of your situation (Matthew 6:33). That is a promise that Jesus made to us.

  • @rachaelsbird1

I rarely do this but I feel led. I am honestly in the same situation. Well, i was back in Sept. When my husband was sentenced to a very long term. I cannot go into specifics as I am sure you understand, but our situation was also one in which the reasoning tested our marriage beyond belief. When everyone, including his own family expected me to leave God gave me the strength to commit. Cont. in next comment.

  • @rachaelsbird1

Life is really hard suddenly being a single parent and trying to keep a long-distance, little communication relationship going, but I DO believe that is what the promise is for. My God has been faithfully present every step of the way. When I heard this song, I was driving and had to nearly pull over for the tears. It was in a dark moment of needing reassurance that this was possible and that I had made the right decision. I thanked God and sent my husband the lyrics. cont. next

  • @rachaelsbird1

He asked me to play it next to the phone. We both cried and have now taken on this as our theme. What is great about this song is that it doesn't pretend the hard times will come, nor does it pretend that we won't go through times of losing sight of love, but the commitment is what is important. If you would like to talk to me further on here, I am willing. But admittedly have no idea how this all works. i literally opened an account on here just to minister hopefully to you.

  • @rachaelsbird1

I'm sorry, I didn't realize it would post them in backwards order and I hope not mark them as spam since I did so many comments. Not near as much space to comment as FB or the like. I hope you are notified of these comments though at least like FB. God Bless you!

  • @JDDsHoneyBee Thanks so very much for your comments.. I would absolutely love to talk to you more. I sent you a friend request here on YouTube, you'll have to accept that before I can message you privately with my email address...I don't want it plastered all over YouTube, lol. Thanks...

  • me and my girl friends song we where shootin ideas ofr songs and we where in the car and this song came on the radio we where both bawling i love you brittany

  • I'm 77 and don't hear very well. Where can I find the lyrics to "Dancing in the Minefields"? My wife died this past January after we had been married for 54 years. . . Wm. Burnside

  • @burnsidewm go to google.com & type the following: Dancing In The Minefields by Andrew Peterson + lyrics

  • @burnsidewm Lyrics: Well I was 19 you were 21 The year we got engaged Everyone said we were much to young But we did it anyway We got the rings for 40 each from a pawn shop down the road We said our vows and took the leap now 15 years ago Chorus: We went dancing in the minefields We went sailing in the storm And it was harder than we dreamed But I believe that's what the promise is for
  • @burnsidewm Type in "Lyrics to Dancing in the Minefields" on google.

  • I heard this song and was like...........WOAH!

  • The first time I heard this was on one of Mark Gungor's radio shows. If you are still struggling in your marriages, check out Mark Gungor's website - his marriage course is called Laugh Your Way To A Better Marriage. We have been so blessed by what he teaches. We have been married 17 years and love each other more each day.

  • @glvdh I just heard it today on the same radio show. Great song, great meaning. Love it and although we've been married only 3 years the struggles have come against us like mad. We must be doing something right. :^)

  • I heard this song TWICE today. My husband and I have had "obsticles" ever since we have been married, for almost ten years and the past few months we have had our marriage tested. Your song reminded me, so beautifully, how we CAN celebrate our love no matter what happens in our lives. We lovingly committed ourselves to God and to each other. Such fabulous words of encouragement and beautiful tune. Thank you for listening to God and making this song. I know He has blessed you all.

  • Beautiful song. Sad it doesn't always work out for some folks as hard as you try. Love the song. Here's to second chances and walking hand in hand into those shadow lands.

  • Beautiful :-)))

  • i'm going through a tough time in my marriage right now. Every time I hear this song on the radio it gives me a little more hope that we can find a way through the "minefield" we are dancing in right now. i've follwed andrew and his music for over a decade now and have been touched by his songs along the way, but this one by far, has hit closest to home. God bless you and your family, Andrew.

  • @jcruz1016 listen to Mark Gungor's radio shows and get his Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage teachings. Also have you seen the film Fire Proof? Excellent. The book they use in the film, the Love Dare, you can buy and do it on your spouse. All the best.

  • not even married (or at an age where i would get married), but this song gives me goose bumps!

  • @joeman1030, babiiboriicua2, and misjackieee I'm right there along with you all!

  • GOD must have put this on my radio tonight. Beautiful..we are in a minefield. Ilnesses, financial stresses, uncertain times. Celebrating 19 years in 2011. Boy, I needed to hear this one tonight..gives me hope..and we will keep on dancing..we took that promise almost 19 years ago.

So few seem to honor that promise anymore today...they just get out of it, one way or another.

  • this song makes me cry :')

  • This is a very pretty song!!!

  • These are the types of songs that we need for such a time as this....'Cause the only way to find your life Is to lay your own life down And I believe it's an easy price For the life that we have found .........priceless

  • Well me and my husband just got married and we just turned 22 this year and this song is our favy! We sing our hearts out to this song we know that god is good and has blessed us growing with each other and in christ!!

  • am i the only that is in youth time that like this song??

  • @joeman1030

    i love diz song too!!!

  • @joeman1030 nope, i love it too!

  • I found this and showed it to my parents. They loved it - and of course cried. ;) I want to play this at my wedding - if it's God's plan for me to get married some day. I'm so happy there's a love song about REAL love - a love built on Christ. :)

  • @AliveInChrist123 Exactly. :) If a love between two Christians is built on Christ, then they will be "dancing in the minefields." :D

  • @AliveInChrist123

You'll be blessed by our HF. Blessing you with a true love built upon Christ, ya!

  • Andrew, thank you for writing this powerful anthem on marriage that we enjoy and sometimes have to endure. I proposed to my lovely wife, Martha, when I was only 22. We had only dated 4 months and got engaged! We were engaged only 4 months and got married...we have been married for 26 years and have certainly danced in our own mine fields! I pray that you and your wife have many more years together dancing in your own mine fields...

  • Absolutely breathtaking! And as a married woman I can say, I find his words to be true in the most fullfilling of ways!

  • I am 19 he is 21 This year we got engaged. Everyone says we are much to young But we'll do it anyway... We'll say our vows and take the leap now... We will be dancing in the minefields and sailing in the storm. literally! we plan to become missionaries over seas and help as many people come to Jesus as possible! I believe that’s what the promise is for...

  • @kikikatt91 awesome

  • Wow... I want this to play at my wedding next year. My groom to be is 19 and I am 21.... and we just got engaged and this song is beautiful and perfect.

  • just heard this song on the radio, I love it!! :)

  • just heard this song on the radio, I love it!! :)

  • I was 16, my bride was 18.....no we weren't pregnant! 38 years , 2 kids and one grand child later, We have never been happier! God saved me 13 years ago, My wife many years before. We admit we were way to young but God has blessed us..I would have left me many years before my salvation,I was the original creator of Minefields! But God gave here strength to put up with me. This song really spoke to me...

  • I was a month away from my 17th birthday, my girlfriend was 18 when we married.. Oh yes that was way to young, But, August we celebrated 38 years. I was the original creator of minefields! God gave my wife strength to put up with me that long.. 13 years ago I gave my life to the LORD, My wife did years before.. The only one I love more that her is the LORD..this song really spoke to me.

  • I love this song!!! :)

  • My husband and i have been married for almost two years; im 27 and he's 25, what makes us a little different is people didn't tell us we were too young to get married. They told us it was the Will of God. Those who have married young don't listen to negative talk, as long as both of you love God and put Him first in all decisions, your marriage will last. This song is so beautiful and brings a tear to eye every time i hear it. Young married couples stay encourage and keep God first!!!!!

  • @keywoods27 I attended my 30-year class reunion last night. In my class is one wonderful woman who fell in love and married before our senior year of high school... not because she had to but because she knew what it was she wanted. Her husband had just graduated when they married.

She became pregnant during our senior year and carried the baby all year, through graduation.

Last night she and her husband of 31 years were together at our reunion, a testimony of "you're not too young."

  • I love the intentional double meaning of "that's what the promise is for". One is the 'I do' promise, the other is the promise of God.

  • My husband and I are 19 and 20. We just got married in May. A lot of people have told us that we are too young. I was driving my mom to work this morning and she told me about this song. She said, "When I first heard this I thought... I wish my marriage could have been like that." She went on to tell me, "But then the Holy Spirit spoke to me saying... This is how their (my husband and I) marriage will be." God is so good!

  • I was 19 when my fiance (now 21) proposed to me. :-) He found this song and said "Honey, you've got to listen to this...it's like God wrote this song just for us!" It's awesome and I intend to have it played at our wedding. PTL!

  • @asluv1 I do believe we have the same idea!!

  • i just got engaged.. and I'm 21 and my now fiancee is 19.. and everyone is telling us we are too young... this song kind of scares me how "from God" this is.

  • @rocker4x Just don't rush into it. Make sure you pray about it and speak to your pastor. Trust me. I had the most wonderful fiancee and wife... and now she's gone. She left 2 weeks ago. Ran from me, her family, and friends. Just be careful and make sure you are doing God's will in God's time. And always make sure your marriage comes second only to spending time with Him.

  • @dleblanc yeah, we both prayed about it for quite sometime, and we are putting God first. It's quite a bit of pain though,.. some people just don't show the love of Christ that they claim to have =/
