I tried it and it worked, but I did something a bit different. I have chin length layers, so I tied that first, then with the excess, I took longer hair from the nape of the neck and tied them together at the same time, then did the bottom. It stayed. Maybe this will work for shorter hair. Thank you!!!

For certain hair types this is impossible. When I was younger and my hair ...well I gotta say it was practically a different quality than my current hair... I was able to keep my hair knotted by just tying it, but now my hair is... well I guess sleeker would be the term because it likes to slide out of any ties I do. I guess you just need to know your hair type before you try to make certain hairstyles. o/ much love to anyone who is like me and CAN'T do this hairstyle. <3

Hey Mimi, that's funny because I have either an elastic band or hair pins in every purse & jacket pocket I own. I sometimes wear a scrunchy on my wrist as a bracelet for a backup, lol. I am black & it is not always easy to keep my hair in place, so I am always prepared. But I love your creativity & a beautiful hair styles. The Upside Down French Braid Bun is my favorite!
