  • Chris, I'm so glad I found this clip. I came across some american builders and that was so unbelievably confusing. I'm glad you leave all the BS out (obvious ones like: 'keep your Chihuahua out of the way when you use this glue'...or 'Don't have a barbeque when working with highly flammatory liquids') :-) I'm so glad I found this clip, thank you so much for NOT wasting my time :-) *hugs :-)

  • If its not a paste the wall product the paper will stretch as it soaks on the wall... And look terrible .. Always read the instructions ... Chris

  • Hi Chris - what happens if you paste the wall if its not a paste-the-wall product? Thanks

  • i hung this paper last week for a customer and for b&q i was surprised at how good it was. Cut well , edges didn't curl and butted great.

  • Can u come and do mine pls???? :p

  • yes mate, paste the wall

paper is so much easier to work with, cleaner and quicker to use, always read the instructions too good luck...

  • Wow, you are pretty good man, you must have picked up some tips from a real expert along the way. You didn't go to the wallpapering school that the other paperhanger on 60 Minute makeover runs did you Chris? Top video; see you at the wrap.

  • Was the person that declared you as a pro the same person that gave you the nickname 'wallpaper man'?

  • Gatwick friday, yes im a pro....

  • New series starts early Feb, i do lots of wallpapering in new series.

Cutting around sockets is safer too..

    Chris ;)

  • Don't you just turn the power off? Are you a professional decorator or an odd job man?

  • I've never missed an episode of 60mm since the team made over my mum's house 3 years ago. I also have never Chris on the programme, I went to the ITV 60mm website 'The Handy Team' profile page and suprise suprise could not find his name. Are you sure that you are not just bigging yourself up Chris?

  • @sue2557 He's on the new series that starts in a couple of weeks. Obviously with such a keen eye, you'll notice him straight away.

  • Sorry Chris, but despite being a frequent viewer of 60 Minute Makeover I have never seen you on the programme. The regular paperhanger is a guy called Steve and before him it was Mark Hazel, husband of Anne Hazel a designer on the programme.

Shouldn't you loosen sockets and push the paper behind them?

  • Its when you cut through two pieces of wall paper at the same time, mainly in corners... Ill post a short vid soon, cutting around corners.. Chris ;)

  • thanks for oyur reply, but it might help to use laymans langauge than trade..

  • As long as you make sure your wallpaper joints are plumb (level) then you should be ok, you never overlap wallpaper unless your doing it to splice in order to gain a level. ;) chris

  • great..you make it look easy. but what happens when the feature wall is not a flat wall but has two alcoves..do you need to allow for an overlap?

  • im sure its not as easy as he just made it look.. im desp to paper a wall but my hous eis all brand new an dif i mess up.. its gonna look awful!!!

  • @muncierobson

No you just take your time and you will be fine, but very important , always read the instructions.. Good luck :)
