@dlinegarcia60 He's not in southpaw stance. Watch it again, after the punch u can see him rotate his body back to his right but he doesn't switch his feet, his left foot is in front it's just where he pushes Ruddock off makes it look like that.
@Jimmynable it does not matter what he does after the punch... during the punch he was standing with with a "34" stance. right foot forward, right hand forward. he then threw his right hand..... what ever hand you after in front of your opposite shoulder is going to be your "jab" hand
@dlinegarcia60 ye I actually retracted my original statement, I've seen it again from a better angle ur right it is with his lead hand, it might actually be a right hook with just a very slight bend in the arm but i'm fine with jab.
brother, this is not a jab, this is a straight right, or a cross. A jab is essentially a punch made from a leading hand, i.e. if your orthodox you left hand, if your a southpaw your right. Its generally v difficult to knock someone out with a jab as not enough power can be generated from it. Jabs are used to open up the opponent for harder, more effective punches such as crosses, hooks and uppercuts. Although a man like Tyson could probably knock you out with one.
Hence the quotations. It's an awkward stance Tyson's in when he throws this punch. If you look at the punch from farther away in another video, you'll see he's southpaw when he throws it. So it's essentially a punch made from the lead hand.
ruddock was dropped twice in the early rounds of this fight but went the distance and fought a great fight and by the way it ain't a right jab it's a right hand tyson was orthodox not a southpaw
Actually I just seen it in another vid from a better angle, it is a jab, sorry.

Big fucking deal, after this, Ruddock got up and took Tyson to 12 rounds and narrowly lost a decision, this knock-down doesn't mean shit!!
