  • JC voice is just not strong enough for this ballard....Scott Walker miles better

  • jamie! fuck off!

  • Beautiful version of this song, I have the Walker Brothers version and this is just as good

  • A once in a lifetime moment...just perfect! Burt and Jamie!! =)

  • Jamie sounds great but hats off to the BBC Concert Orchestra who together with Burt's group of musicians sound awesome together on this number..

  • What is with the "_____ can do it better" about? Performers are not competitors, they sing because they are passionate about music, and they are passionate about the song. Not so they can sound better than somebody else.

If you don't like this version, no problem. Listen to a performer you prefer. Simples.

  • Ever heard of the Walker Brothers? magic!

  • This is terrible...listen to John Pagano sing this for BB and you'll see why.

  • In my book, Jaime Cullum can do wrong. This is another terrific version of a classic song given new life by Jaime. He's so good. He, also, has the perfect stage look and presence here. This is real class.

Having said that, let's face it, there is no-one, and I mean no-one, who can even come close to Jerry Butler's orginal version. It's the ultimate. You don't believe me; just listen to it.

  • HE IS SO CUTE. I love guys who can sing like this. It makes the song more sexy.

  • A version almost comparable to a Sinatra standard.

  • I disagree about the Johnny Mathis being the best version of this song. It certainly can't compare with Cullum here. Mathis plays it way to understated. This is a song meant to have a BIG, BOLD sound in the parts that are big and bold.

There was a recent live version sung by the Ice Man on YouTube for a while but it has been taken off. He did a fabulous job still, he really knows this song. Just like Cullum does.

  • @BookofLove2011 Jerry "The Iceman" Butler's version was excellent. I am glad I saved it into my Real Player file. Save the clips whenever you can. I am pretty sure that these entertainment conglomerates are lurking on youtube looking to remove videos for "copyright infringement" so they can push more Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Britney Spears on us.

  • Bobby: Thanks very much for letting me know about the posting. (It's been over thirty years since I last heard Johnny Mathis version.) I spent many a weekend in that radio station playing songs like this. It was the 1970's and the station was undergoing a gradual transition from "easy listening" to Top 40. It's kind of funny recalling all the women (married and otherwise) who called requesting Barry White songs.

  • Jamie's version of this song is very good, of course, but Johnny Mathis had a cover of this song that he recorded on one of his albums released in the early or middle 1970's. I worked in an "easy listening" FM radio station at the time. I loved Johnny's version of this classic and played it nearly every time I was on the air. I would be ever so grateful if anyone who sees this could put up Johnny Mathis's version of "Make It Easy on Yourself." TIA

  • @cooplag4927 somebody heard your request and posted it-- Johnny Mathis' version is without question the best :)

  • tears,how good is this!:)

  • Wish I could buy this version of this song somewhere.

  • @Dreamscape2010 No kidding! i've been looking. Nothing.

  • This is a great version with this wonderful composer burt Bacharach!!!
