  • in canada our milk is available in bags, cartons and plastic jugs.

    the more you know.

  • Canada, you are the best.

  • fucking brilliant

  • Bags were more of an 80's thing. I haven't used those fuckers since I was dousing my Captain Crunch in front of Transformers cartoons. I don't anybody who still does the whole pitcher/bag combo.

  • lol i heard about this in a song, it was all about canadians drinking milk out of plastic bags, i wasnt sure if it was true or not until now tho.

anyway if your interested check it out, its called "O Canada"

  • Why not just pour the milk in the jug and put a lid on it..........?

  • Only east coast has bags of milk, fuck the west coast

  • @habtell93 Really? You're that proud of drinking milk out of a bag? Hilarious..

  • @TheGloru2009 clearly you dont understand a joke. You must live a miserable life

  • Comment removed

  • @habtell93 Oh silly you! Such anger! LOL!

  • we use milk jugs in vancouver

  • I can't explain why but seeing milk in a bag bothers me so much

  • im american, and when i went to my relitives cottage in canada, i opened the fridge and saw that, and i was confused and didnt want to ask anyone what the hell was going on cuz id look like a jackass

  • I have never seen milk in bags, where do they even sell this. I AM THE WORST CANADIAN.

  • Why doesn't it slosh around everywhere!

    My mind is blown!!!!

  • I'm from BC, the westcoast does NOT have these "bags of milk" in which you speak of. I have only heard about this phenomenon from the internet!

  • Um, in normal countries we can pour milk without the need of a jug.

  • Friction + the weight of the milk on the front of the container prevent the bag from falling out of the holder.

Does anyone else take out the bag and tip it upside down to get the last few drops of milk? :P

  • my head is filled with billions and billions of fucks

  • What the fuck is this.. I'm from western Canada and i have never..

  • ...That's how you drink Canadian milk?

I thought it was just... Nevermind.

  • suction

  • NOOB! Everyone knows you have to cut both ends so there is no suction!

  • @TheSpaceGaudet eww I dont cut both ends :p

  • What is your beef with plastic jugs?

  • MILK IN BAGS? Let's invade these fuckers!

  • Slick - no messing. And I like that you did an (almost) horizontal cut rather than a 45 degree cut? I find horizontal works best !!

  • Blows my mind.

  • There's nothing manlier than drinking milk or juice out of a gallon jug. How do Canadians impress women? a flimsy bag doesn't seem very manly, it even comes off as feminine

  • @oJKBo Well, that's the American views. In Canada, the American ways of pouring milk isn't manly to them. That's aboot right, eh?

  • @WeepingGuitar99 manliness is objective, milk bags aren't manly at all.

  • @oJKBo all things are matters of opinion, eh.

  • @HuascarT99 lol

  • why don you just get a carton of milk its easier that way eh

  • @wadestutorials

    1: cheaper

    2: better for the enrivonnement

    3: doesnt tase like carton.

  • canadians are true wannabes

  • TRUE canadian make 2 holes and fill 2 glass at the same time

  • I get it - I'm an american & in Elementary school we actually had our Milk & OJ in bags. You had to stab it with a straw like a capri sun...

But why not just pour the whole bag into the pitcher? That's what Americans aren't getting...

Also how long does the milk last in a pouch, can you freeze it?

  • @MrsMurphy062009 if you pour the milk in the pitcher then it would go bad either because dust or whats in the air and im not very sure how long it last cause my family usually drinks it in 3 days but it last as long as a carton of milk. and last i have never tried to freeze it but maybe it would be a cool thing to try.

  • Comment removed

  • @mckenziecares818 But couldn't you put it in an icetea type pitcher? Like the kind that have a topper or even the reusable jug things with spouts that are used for suntea??? IDK maybe I'm complicating the bagged milk thing haha

  • @MrsMurphy062009 you can put it in the pitcher if you want.. its just that the pitcher dosent have a lid so the milk might tase weird if you put that in the fridge afterwards. And I dont see why you cant freeze it but why would you want to freeze it anyways?

  • for everyone asking why we don't just buy cartons & jugs, one simple reason .... they have a nasty after taste !!! ( you know it's true )

  • do they sell any milk in plastic jugs or glass or ...? can you only get it in a bag? lol.

  • i am in Canada. where can i find some?!

  • @ellegee92 pretty much every grocery store near the cold foodstuffs area.

  • @DrMattDestruction

yeaaah but like is it in Safeway? ahha.

  • HOLY SHIT THAT IS COOL

  • Milk bags use less plastic.

But that it a waste of storage space. Do the milk bags ever pop?

In Ireland, we have a poury thing and lid built into the carton.

  • @Largestina i am pretty sure i haven't seen a milk bag pop. 26 years of milk bag usage here but i also have an extremely bad memory.

  • @DrMattDestruction

where can i get me some?!

  • Ok ok ok, im confused. If you buy milk bags and put them in a plastic container why don't you buy regular milk jugs, that are the same size as your milk bag containers.

  • mind=blown. <3

  • It would be easier just to use a carton

  • Well Northern Ontario has milk bags. Is there any other way??? I know....I live on the border. Although, I DO remember my mother "watering down our milk with powdered milk (GROSS!) I'm 45 fyi...haha!

  • lol why do people are so stunned to see milk bags. i mean, its so simple and ive been drinking milk that comes from bags since i did not even know how to walk. MILK BAGS FTW

  • @_@ is all I'm gonna say.

  • I don't get why you don't just use milk jugs instead of using bags. I'm from Vancouver, and we've never even heard of that until now. I think you must be from Ontario eh? You guys are so weird over there with your accents and milk bags...

  • @legacychesterfield Bags of milk are more of an eastern thing, you may find them in the west but much more common from Ontario eastward. I am from New Brunswick btw

  • why not just make milk jugs like everyone else

  • lol gotta enjoy the simple things.

  • It's so... beautiful...

  • Cool :) I just discovered this yesterday.

  • hahahaha! milk bags!!!!....ahahahahaha!!!!

  • What is the point.

  • refrigerated?

  • LMFAO! I CANT BELIEVE SOMEONE ELSE DID THIS TOO! Too bad my account was deleted, but that's awesome someone did a video of this. xD Someone's gotta show the world how us Canadians work. xD

  • the condensation produced by the bag keeps the bag held inside the jug, aswell as the shape keeps it held.

  • milk bags.. just learned about em today lol pretty sweet!

  • sometimes the bag of milk DOES fly out of the container, then you get a big mess

  • Correction: How we do milk in Ontario.

  • Correction: Canada is all about Ontario.

  • Correction: Ontario is all about Ontario.

The rest of Canada is all about hating Ontario.

    :D

  • I salute to you Canada and your milk bag ways!

    -salute-

  • viva la bags of milk

  • lol i love you <3

  • BUT HOW DOES IT STAY FRESH!??!!?

  • It's only a small hole cut in there. It shouldn't be any more exposed to the air than a carton of milk, and its size is about the same.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP! if you point it out then the gods will become aware of the dark magic and destroy the tasty freshness of milk bags!

  • @EleanorMea --- It's only a third of a gallon. It only lasts a day in my house. Then you open the next third. A 4 liter bag has three separately packaged thirds in it and it costs about $4 CDN. Seems normal to me.

  • does this give you an economic advantage? I am assuming milk in a bag freezes and thaws better than in a jug so you are not constantly letting extra milk in the house go bad?

  • Well, there's a lot less plastic used for bagged milk than there is for cartons or plastic jugs. The outer bag and three individual bags have less than 10% of the plastic of a large plastic jug.

And it doesn't go bad in your fridge because the hole you cut is very small and doesn't allow for air to circulate in and out. The bigger the hole, the more quicker it will go bad, but it still takes a while unless your refrigerator isn't cool enough.

  • I think that's to much work for americans and i am a fellow american myself...that would be to much work....to many steps..im america and other places you just unscrew the cap. but that seems so fun!

  • But you have to unscrew it every time... this step is only once! :)

  • "how the hell doesn't the milk bag fly out of the thing?" Haha! You made me think about that.

  • Oh you Canadians are your silly bags of milk.

  • Awee we dont have them in Western Canada =( I dont like milk anyways, so its all good xP

  • Holy fucking cool.

  • milk in a bag hell yeah

  • You're sorta like the shamwow guy, Vince.

  • dang-I now appreciate milk jugs!!! haha!

  • i live in B.C and i cant find it lol

  • Not in BC. We don't have bags out west.

  • No Milk Today.

  • CANADA, FUCK YEAHR!

  • Fuck yeah.

  • i wish we had that here in u.s.

  • how doesnt the milk bag fly oot of the thing?

  • Couldn't you grab one of those bags of milk and slap someone across the face with it if someone trys to rob your house?

  • lol he said how the hell doesnt the bag fall out i dont know either lol this guy made me about piss my pants i laughed so hard

  • It is because of suction, I'd say...

Try pulling the bag out after you've put it in. It takes more effort than you'd think because it is difficult for air to get past the walls of the bag.

  • Bag O' Milk FTW! :D

  • I'm more blown away by how the bag does not slide out, You kooky guys you

that has to be a magic trick

my simple American mind has been blown away

Milk in a bag....How about that

  • i'm glad i know how it is done now! do you close the cut part somehow so it doesn't taste like refriderator air? or does that just not happen?

  • Supposedly you use up the milk before it has a chance to spoil like that...

  • Haha that is so weird! I can't even imagine doing that.

  • In America (or anywhere else in the world for that matter) you don't need a tool to open your milk n_n

  • No true. In many most of Europe milk often comes in a box and you need to cut the top open.

  • Not true. It can be open easily by hand.

  • Dude I know what I'm talking about. I live in France! There is milk sold here in cartons that you have to use sizzers to open the side up. It's made of thick cardboard and there is no way to tear it open.

  • Whoa, seriously? The Danish once are so darn easy to open, and they look just like the ones they use in USA, so I just went on and assumed everybody used them o_O

  • @Jonassoe tools open milk cartons in the us every day.

  • i was in canada, kinda near the falls....sherkston beach. well we went to a supermarket (to get smores stuff), and saw the bags. at first me an my cousin had no clue what it was until we got closer...

  • i almost had a heart attack when i was in america and didn't see the milk bags.

i knew you guys use cartons or jugs (you can find them here too, but where i live its mainly bags or cartons) but i didn't know that was all you used. i had to stop and search the whole grocery store for my precious milk bags! D: i ended up going to a tim hortons for my milk because i wouldn't feel right using a jug xD

  • Reading some of the comments from the Americans almost makes me want to move just to prevent me from being associated with them.

Hate, war, and stupidity are the only things America seems good at anymore. Damn, isn't that a dangerous mix.

  • @ZombiePirate2 nigga u gay.

  • @JohnathanCook Oh well damn. Thanks for informing me.

  • I haven't seen milk in a bag in Calgary for over 15 years. It's been cartons and jugs for a very long time.

  • YAY GO THE CANADIAN WAY. i'm in aussieland btw (:

  • i must say,you go Canada,that is so awesome.lol.

  • in canada milk comes in both cartons and platic bags .

  • @lilmariah35 and jugs

  • wow, out of all things to talk about

  • -.- ..Edmonton is part of Canada.. just so you people know.

  • WHAT?!? in Edmonton, milk comes in cartons.

o.o.. looks pretty cool though XDD

  • why....... just why........

  • how the shit dont people get it

    canadian pride!

  • thats the way we do itt:D

  • That's tits!

  • wow...i like that idea...

wish we got that in the US

  • In Canada, milk comes in bags!

  • the milk would go stale rela quick wouldnt it

  • I honestly had no idea that Americans didn't know about milk in bags until my friend made a blog post about it including this link.

And I also don't get why they're so confused about why we'd do it. It's just how it's done here. You don't go over to Britain and shout, "Why the fuck do you guys drive on the wrong side of the road??? Are you stupid or what??" You just don't.

  • WOOOO!

    MILK BAGS FTW!

  • i visited family in canada and they had it like this too. but why?, it's WAY TOO difficult and TIME consuming, just get a gallon bottle. Is bag milk better or something?

  • Lol "gallon bottle?" Why use bottles when you have perfectly good bags?

  • AHAHAHAHA! MILK IN BAGS!

  • bags = about 1/3 of the cost of cartons at the grocery store.

  • If you ask me, using milk cartons is weird

  • Yeah, i'm a newfie myself, and i've NEVER personally seen bags of milk, but i've heard of 'em

  • What are you talking about, newfies are the craziest of all!

  • you should be a salesperson! LOL!

  • lol, my dad dropped the bag of milk one time. it split open all over XD that was when i was in canada though... they sell them in america too, you just have to know where to look.

  • he have milk bags in nova scotia, i get them all the time rather than 2 litre cartons that run out too fast

  • didn't know canadians had milk in plastic bags.. weird =)

  • only fuckin ontarionians do, not out west

  • right on man,..never seen milk bags in BC
