I have never understood the valuation of soccer/football players. In sports with prize money (ie golf) I get it, or in entertainment, such as musicians who have a trackable amount of sales figures, I get that. However, with soccer/football, and I think this applies to basketball too, I just don't get how it is decided that Player X should be bought for $Y-million and earn $Z-thousand per week.
