  • Sound like electro : D

  • you should put a belt pully on it and make a type of transmission for that cart so you can drive it around, maybe a semi axle in the back and another to to make th 90 so you can hook it all up

  • this is history. very nice. thank you for posting.

  • very nice engine. thanks for posting it!

  • KA-BWOM-KA-BWOM-KA-BWOM-KA-BWOM-KA-BWOM-KA-BWOM

  • I love these old machines, but this brings into mind a simulated heart attack :D

  • That would tear off a leg if you slip into the flywheel as it fired. what where these used for? and how much can one be picked up for?

  • Well got its own hydraulics.

  • do these things hold a steady rpm or no?

  • @1112223333111 Yes they can when there under a load but this one is just coasting along with no load and the gas is restricted to slow it down even more.

  • i imagine it dosent use much fuel with the short dwell point, does it produce spark thru a cam drive,or a magnet,or is it just compressing gases combined with momentum? really neat, thanks for sharing!

  • @killancid It uses a Wico magneto to produce the spark. Thanks

  • @steamer123 is it really that simple to start?

  • @celesteraez it usually is that easy BUT not always. :-)

  • I want one

  • He should shorten the exhaust pipe on it so it doesn't sound so stupid.

  • Very cool engine! I love the exhaust note it gives off.

    Almost musical.

  • Cool never seen one before thanks for putting the vid up

  • This is to cool. How do you stop it?

  • @packingone just turn off the propane.

  • @packingone you throw a body into the spokes of the flywheel to stop it

  • @Nza420 I thought you threw a body between the rod/crank and bedplate to stop it LOL!!........

  • @9020powrmax oh yes, how could I forget that method?

  • killer to start that monster

  • Is this so called "half breed engine" ?

  • No this engine has always been a gas engine. The half breeds started out as a steam engine. They than took the steam cylinder and valve chest off and fit a gas engine cylinder in it's place.

  • This is really cool. I saw a similar Bessemer hit and miss engine running at a county fair last week, but I wasn't there to see them start it. My grandfather worked at Cooper Bessemer in Grove City, Pa. They built diesel engines for locomotives at the time he retired in the 1970's.

  • wow that thing really bounces the running gear at start up :30

  • We usually block it up with the wheels off the ground when we are at shows. It takes the bounce out of it.

  • yeah that would help lol didn't think of that

  • would you be able to fit one of these in a light aircraft?

  • Looks like it weighs more than most light aircraft.

  • Yes it is. The water tank is the steal drum on the right side of the engine.

  • wow this is one of best hit and miss engine videos ive seen im trying to get ahold of one one of these days is this one water cooled?

  • 5 stars. I have seen many videos. This one has a certain intimacy to it. Almost personal. Awesome machine.

  • Nice engine. Love the sound off the big exhaust.
