  • If a man that is drowning refuses to extend his own hand to be saved will most likely Parrish.

Not to explore is just abuse to your future and fellow man!

    Author; Me

  • The escape tower works, it has saved Russian cosmonauts in the past. And such a system would have saved the Challenger crew. Launch and landing are still by far the most dangerous parts of any mission.

  • the "ESCAPE ROCKET" should at least be dual purpose so it can be used as a booster for longer missions. SUch a waste!!!

  • still cant belive the u s doesn't have a manned space program your last 3 president let you down in a big way, the russians are showing you the way again how imbarasing.

  • Half the weight of the launch vehicle is use to carry that stupid escape rocket which is jettisoned literally seconds after lift off... just so there is no spectacular DEATH VIDEO in the beginning of the flight which could give it "bad PR"... tells you where the priorities lie for NASA these days... If anything else fails during the 99% part of the mission, they're still fucked, but that's okay, at least it didn't happen on TV... wow NASA! really?

  • @YoLninYo errrrrrr the escape tower is so thay dont die incase of problems and it will not save them in every case and for the rest of the time it will be on tv think about apollo 13

  • @comanderw This huge and energy hog of an "escape" mechanism protects them for the 1/1000th of one percent of the duration of their flight! If ANY system fails during the flight to mars, they're STILL FUCKED. So, what's better? Mitigate risk during takeoff but have MORE STUFF for the 99% of the time in space or just spend 30% of the 1 billion dollar launch tag on this stupid rocket that only _MAY_ help in the first 2 minutes of flight. SEems ridiculously stupid... IMNSHO

  • Welcome to the 60's folks. It's not only the hollywood that likes re-runs, we here at NASA-HASBEEN labs love it too!

  • Also could only think one thing while that music played during the TLI burn:

    "FUCK YEAH, SPACE!"

  • @Smokingfox3 LMAO....omg thats exactly what I was thinking!!

  • So...Apollo2.

Not that I mind, but damn, we could have advanced a bit. Same TLI burn, same MCC, same rocket staging, same crew capsule design, same service module, about the only thing new seems to be an upgraded LEM.

I'm all for going back, even with yesterdays tech, but we gotta get a new design for the future...

  • I saw the video in History Channel, part of the UFO series that a guy in his garage made a triangle shaped device that with a 50K voltage amplifier could levitate the device about 5 feet from the ground. AT that time there was no scientific explanation but it worked, so we could combine technologies to go into space in a less cumbersome way than rockets; that's old and highly inefficient technology

  • What about the space trash orbiting Earth? those wasted parts should have enough velocity to re-enter atmosphere and be vaporized or recycled somehow. Besides launching rockets is rustic: contaminates a lot, needs a lot of fuel and money to launch and it's payload is small compared with the weight of the rocket at launch time. We need some kind of hypersonic plane it 2 stages that can be used as a plane and reusable as needed. Or something like that.

  • Constellation would have been great but I can see many flaws with the program. Maybe they could have ran the ares 1 as just a taxi to the space station and made ares 5 an all in one with crew capsule on top. It probably wouldn't have kept costs down but it just seems to make sense to me... :s Call me crazy. lol :P I just hope something... Anything goes ahead for human space flight soon.

  • Kerbal Space Program!

  • @bobafetthotmail we really colonize it when its enough tubes

    Space shuttle=not efficient

    Apollo=bit efficient

    Orion=nearly efficient

    Future=more efficient

  • refurbished Apollo program

  • Now that Obama made the budget cut, the first person on Mars will probably be a European

  • @martyn580 Is that a problem for you? First person on the moon was a man, north american, white and probably christian.

  • @porcovasco I agree. Most people would like it to be their country, but I look at it as an achievement for humanity, and greatly envy the lucky first person.

  • duhhhhh you people still believe in what your government tells you??? this project would have exposed too much of the truth about certain facts pertaining to the moon and our space project and other aspects of what they are hiding. anyone with a brain knew this wasnt going anywhere.

  • @numbahwhun

Ah... are you one of those delusional twoofers thinking he is smarter than 40+ years worth of science and engineering? Get real. We did land on the Moon. Six times.

  • What is this world coming to...when we fund our military so we can fight each other, but we cant fund NASA to insure that our species lives on by colonizing what we can. Earth won't be here forever, Obama.

  • @BANTYxROOSTER I am angry at Obama but do you honestly think any other President would have cared enough to continue the funding?

  • @BANTYxROOSTER

Umm, who started the war in iraq? oh yeah, bush. Who killed bin laden? oh yeah, obama. Who ended the war in iraq? oh yeah, obama. Who wants to keep drilling and burning because he thinks the earth will be here forever? oh yeah, bush.

  • @jack8n first off we prematurely let the war in iraq 2nd drilling for oil is a very good idea its a good way to jump start the economy and not only that in within the next 20 years were not going to have to use oil we'll be able to use solar energy and 3rd Obama dubbed bushes spending and hasn't done anything with it then put us father in debt and divide the country as a whole, now you tell me that he's doing a better job

  • No, the terrorists are NOT derailing our mission to Mars. Those spending all the money on the ineffective parts of the terrorism war are responsible for lack of NASA funding, such as the war in Iraq (which was the bulk of spending but was based on AMERICAN lies). My father was a NASA scientist, but had to leave to work in the defense industry, developing technologies that don't really help mankind much.

  • There are no "terrorists" dickheads. It's all a manufactured cia, mossad operation, so the bankers can steal all the money, make you a neo-feudal slave using fiat money in a debt based economic compound interest ponzi scheme & to be groped by the tsa gestapo in the "globalized" police state. Osama been-dead for 9 years could not have done more damage to the US, and by extension NASA, than what the government with their bailouts and illegal wars have accomplished.

  • why was this program cancelled???? :o i was hoping somebody could go to the moon for the 1st time while i live :/ we are so evolved, with such technology now.. even a home pc is stronger and better than the computers used back in the 60's for the so called "moon landing" that of course never happened as we all know.. even school children with a basic science education understand that.

  • @180TheDragon I think it's cause SpaceX paid off Obama to support them instead. :p

  • @genredleader Are you kidding? SpaceX is small company. Lockheed Martin gets more from one Shuttle launch that the entire net worth of SpaceX. Lockheed is a giant company with a more lobbyists than any other government defense contractor. They are a major Shuttle contractor, thats why Shuttle costs 1.6 Billion p/flight. How do you think Lockheed wins every contract with an inferior produce. Its because they pay the right people.

  • Fuck You Obama

  • In the end, the only thing they can say is fuck off or sorts of annoying speech that proves their stupidity. I might aswell talk to my annoying 12 year old brother and the level of conversation might perhaps be on a higher level then talking to mental uneducated conspiracy theorists.

  • To put a object from LEO to the moons surface and back requires in proportion much less, much much much less 1 third of the total fuel that got the object into earth orbit.

A lunar landing is in any practical way possible.

Still their are some annoying pricks that purely use media samples to prove it didnt happen, and when you tell them how it works they refuse to listen.

its very absurd. And they usually get silenced when you seriously discuss this topic with them.

  • look to the sky that day and make sure its not clouded. And make sure you look to the sky exactly when its about to fly over. It travels from one point of the horizon to the other in several seconds so you gotta catch it when its visible.

THe ISS is about 80-100 times more heavy then the CSM and the LEM (the apollo stages that went to lunar orbit) So if we put the ISS into orbit, then why can coudnt we ever invest the money to put something 100times lighter to the lunar surface?

  • The only reason conspiracy theorist find the courage the open their mouths is because we neglected human spaceflight beyond earths orbit.

When you come with serious physical and historical facts they have no valuable comments to tell why they think that way and they usually use scold words to end a already ending conversation.

    What a fucking morons.

To all conspiracy theorists. Dont you believe that the ISS exists?

Go to a local astronomy club, ask a professor when the ISS flies over your area

  • great music ! great video !

  • cool

  • I wanna live in space.

  • CHECK OUT "2012 UFOs Connections and Revelations" This is a compilation

of evidence revealed by former and present American presidents,

astronauts, military personnel, politicians along with credible aired

UFO footage. This compilation also contains planned revelations

regarding knowledge of life beyond Earth along with it's current and

ever ongoing presence which is being hidden from the public. This

knowledge has been hidden from the public for over 50 years. + MUCH

    MORE.

  • ya!

  • humanity has chosen to stay in its cradle forever........

  • There is no reason why a human on the Moon can't walk properly.

To explain this ridiculous hopping and jumping by the weird NASA clowns who used to dress up as astronauts for the Apollo scam you need to watch?v=tB1HGHj-AXE

  • @potrodsas Finish you Popsicle and go to bed professor.

  • @potrodsas no reason??? fucking 1/6 of earth gravity is the reason you freaking moron, all of you questioning the apollo missions are spitting in the face of the people who worked hard and even risked their lives for human discovery.

  • @danteswb

    Fucking idiot:

They are not as proud as you are(or as proud as you would like them to be) and they hiding away and running.Any idea why?

  • @potrodsas dude, what the fuck are you talking about? get a life and stop questioning the obvious. we did get to the moon, we expend a lot of money and effort on getting there, so stop being a douche and be grateful for what we accomplished

  • @potrodsas What are you talking about? Is Einstein proud for theorizing relativity or martin luther king in promoting african american freedom? If you spend your whole life doing something you love, you can be damn sure that your proud of it!

  • @MrLongo2

That is the point fucking moron. They are not proud enough to even sue the"conspiracy theorist"they are hiding away guilty. Why don't you ask the whore you call mother to sent you back in school so you learn reading?

  • @MrLongo2 really like robbing banks you can be proud of that, how about murdering prostitutes

  • once we create space ships, not space shuttles, im talking about the ones simmilar to startrek or starwars, then my life is complete

  • Comment removed

  • obama

    is a nigger

  • @phantom1000A ok mr. KKK

  • OK, if you are already talking about 2 rockets at billions of dollars. Why not have several rockets at a fraction of the cost make a moon/mars system. For example you have have "25" falcon9 launches (7 astronauts per launch) for the price of just 1 Ares1 by itself. Plus, Falcon9 is much safer. If if we had to connect 4 small orbital escape engines end to end, it still is a fraction of the cost.

  • umm ,are haf of you guys retarded?! 1- Constellation is waste of money! they havent come up with anything NEW, they could have atleast used nuclear thermal rockets for aresV so that you can lift a lot more into orbit and nuclear thermal rockets for the Earth Departure Stage, so that the lander can be a lot bigger. There is NOTHING innovative about this program, Obama has done the right thing!!!!we gota focus more on robotic probes to Europa and Ganymede and propulsion technologies first,eg:Vasimr

  • Constellation ; thanks to Obama => Cancellation

  • @nccflorin23 don't worry he won't last another term.

  • that was fucking awsome what program did you use how long have you been uing it and did you go to college to learn how to use it?

  • @nuclearfallout217 it wasnt a program, it was nasa's vision. It was all real, until obama had to cancel all of it :p

  • no shuttles = 100x more space derbis,

  • Vote Republican. Let's all vote Republican, this year! Get Obama's people out! Send a clear message that the Orion-Altair missions should be revived, and restarted by the next administration. Cheers to the Tea Party Express!!!

  • @smeltriver09 To hell Ares V and I. I want DIRECT.

  • @bobafetthotmail Look, an Ares 1 & an Ares 5 is needed, as a safety measure! The separate launchings of the crew and the trans-planetary cargo, makes for a safer flight arrangement! If the giant heavy lift vehicle suffers an accidental explosion, then the astronauts will not be on-board. Plus, the smaller rocket can then be the one with the Launch Escape System, for added crew safety. Two separate launches make total sense! Remember the Columbia Disaster?

  • @smeltriver09 The crew escape system is a simple addon, and as it (could have) worked on Saturns, it would work on DIRECT too.

Ares 1 was an overly stupid design and got into obvious trouble and cost overruns due to excessive vibrations.

Ares 5 was a good design, but was so different from the Space shuttle hardware (different engines, different tank size, bigger boosters) that it would have required a huge development cost that is frankly not needed.

  • 1.start WWIII

    2.nuke the ragheads

    3.go to space at last

  • What a shame. Maybe the next REAL PRESIDENT will have an open mind about continuing space exploration. One day man will have to leave this cradle that we call earth and move out into the stars. Earth will not be here forever and we need to put in place the stepping stones for our progeny.

  • Question to NASA? (if anyone in NASA is reading this) If the Constellation already has at least 1 docking between Ares1 and Ares V. And we know that 7 person Falcon9 rocket can launch 22+ times for the price of one 4 person Ares 1 (by itself). Can we go to the moon and beyond with let say 10 dockings of lower weight launches? Perhaps 5 segmented earth escape rockets segmented together? Or one launch for the LEM, and one for the crew cabin etc..

  • the music kicks arse! where can i get it?

  • their informations are working on us with vibrations. The vibrations (informations) are come in brains with our ears.

Then they can control(move) all body, even they can produce dreams and think, and talk!

    Animal(move) or people.

This are weating us in future, but is already exist!

EVERYTHING WHAT WAS HAPPEN ON EARTH IS ON "TAPE".

Everything for what we work on have no point!

They are living where is plug,3 stars triangle(Scalene) at the star between Alkaid and Alioth!

  • The truth about a planet Earth!

Our planet (Earth) is a planet, who are controlling a people, wich were emmigrate us on planet!

They do not control just a people, they controling a whole planet!

This are doing with a last technology(who we do not now)with help of sun-with a sun light

they send and accept all informations!

On all living creatures they can prejudicing and with a same technology(with sun light),

  • Agreed that the systems employed in Orion are far more superior than it's resembling ancestor Apollo. But I was expecting something more surprising from them. Like using a new concept somewhere .... ex : using anti gravity or mag lev for take off ... or is there something really new n awesome in Orion ?

  • @meerapot one of the biggest challenges is connection between the pilot facility and cargo in space. Requires a total control of a spaceship.

  • @lighterinthestorm well i agree. I can see how difficult it will be to design a control system taking into account all the unusual forces acting on the body. But haven t they designed something like this earlier ?

  • @meerapot not sure but it may not sound very new. but NASA highlighted this as one of the biggest troubles. NASA is afraid to experiment too much on something new as instead they took the old route. Columbia crash was a failure that knocked NASA down for a few years. if i am right they discontinued the usage of shuttles after that disaster.

  • @lighterinthestorm well they had failures with the apollo model too ... i guess there is no use in arguing ... its their capsule and its their wish ! As if whatever i say is gonna matter ! But anyways Orion IS less complicated but the space shuttles weren t bad at all !!! I mean an accident happened once in several hundred flights ! Even car accidents happen in that ratio !!!

  • i am they have hope safe jounrey cause if they are capture by malevolent aliens

  • It makes total sense why Obama killed the Constellation program even though he promised to back any effort to send man back to the moon by 2020 during his campaign of lies and distortion. ??? Because he is the exact opposite of John F. Kennedy, who got us to the moon. Obama breaking the record for the most campaign promised broken. He is a do nothing president... the king of empty promises... Jimmy Carter redeux.

  • Dude. The mysterious disappearance of NASA's budget has Illuminati written all over it.

  • whats the music in 1:45 that sounds cool

  • Which is the name of this amazing videogame?

  • @alieli38 its not a video game ...its a space simulator...download orbiter at orbiter(dot)com

  • Obama's mind-set is one of "been there, done that". Imagine if the early explorers following Colombus had followed Obama's philosophy. But he needed the NASA Constellation budget gutted in order to fund his health care reform and other welfare state giveaways.

  • Relying on Russian Soyez craft is like relying on your competitor to help you out, they'll help us into space...as long as it suits their mood and serves their interest. China will be on the moon by 2020, and have a moonbase shortly thereafter. And this comes after one of the most amazing discoveries in history, the fact that there is water on the moon.

  • I know it hurts, but you just got to accept that America is out of the Space Race, it's a real shame ;-(

  • Please look for my 'Constellation: Requiem Remix video.

  • obama wants to cut out the good parts of this country and replace it with shit like the healthcare plan, and what the hell, lets take away peoples guns so they cant defend themselves. Obama sucks dick

  • And so it goes, America's decline switches into high gear. Now, the only thing the US will lead in is making fast food and obese citizens.

When there are no more hi-tech jobs in the US, the hi-tech people will move to countries where the jobs and opportunities are.

  • OBAMA sucks assss!!! He's taking everything that was good with this country and turning it to shit. Someone needs to take his butt out of office. What's that dumbass going to cut next? This is becoming a communistic country!

  • Because Obama would rather use the money to help the borthaz in Hatey

  • OBAMA SAYS "YES WE CAN!" obviously the turm should be "no we cant!" nobody seems to be happy with what obama is doing. the national debt is up to bankrupting point and he is canceling everything.

  • @british are awesome 69 I am extremely disappointed that this program has been scraped. I think of the nearly trillion dollars spent in the Iraq war and how the space program could have benefited from that money. Don't you agree? We can't fund both war and science that the same time can we?

  • @CarlaLR74 Exactly! Cut the damn military. Keep our butts out of other country's back yard. I guess world domination is more important than the citizens of this country.

  • @Localmode Your Obama comments aside, I do agree with what you said. We shouldn't be fighting wars overseas but spend that money in our own back yard. You can thank GWB for that.

  • @CarlaLR74 I agree entirely it unfair to blame Obama hes fighting a war he dint start.

  • @CarlaLR74 Exactly! Cut the damn military. Keep our butts out of other country's back yard. I guess world domination is more important than the citizens of this country.

  • SCREWED BY OBAMA....The AIG executives need another bonus

  • astronomind obama against nasa the end of the race to the moon

  • Its all a farce to take people's minds off of what the USA's problems are...

  • The federal budget is all fake. The government of the U.S. can and does prints as much cash as it needs, and always has. It's all bullshit.

  • You are correct in a way. I am so disappointed with the cancellation of this project. Remember the undisclosed " Black Project " budget and the cost of the war against terrorism ! The damn terrorists are ruining it for all humanity ! The money we are spending on war and homeland security could have put us on Mars by 2030 ! The evolution of humanity is being compromised by religious fanatics of who may still think the Earth is flat !

We should think globally and not individually !

  • I like you and what you said. But listen to me....there are no terrorists. Only governments terrorize and blame others. We gotta pay attention to our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. REALLY pay attention. Then we can do away with the entire monetary structure. Technology is here. It's very possible to feed, house, and clothe everyone, at relatively little cost. Then, we can finally start achieving a world community based on our Constitution and on our Bill of RIghts.

  • I couldn't agree more !

  • @majormixer = I hate Islam, and all who sympathise with it.

  • @majormixer man u are totaly right we should think globaly but what to do some people are stupied i hope god welling in near future things will be much better thanks

  • @majormixer

islam already knew the earth is round centuries ago, if you google and youtube around u will learn eventually.

at the same time islam already knew about space, how planets orbit/rotate, how the moon gives light and even about the sun that it does move and rotate.

all this scientific findings is found in the Holy QURAN and they knew all this CENTURIES AGO (STONE AGE).

at same time it teachs embryology, and many scientific things that you the west just came and found it recently

  • @mradelslayer so true ! It is widely debated that they also formulated the time warp calculations and hid it in their Quran. The Jew cracked it and made money from it !

  • @majormixer

    @mradelslayer

i gave you this reply becuase u being ignorant and.

but let me tell u this, ofcourse the middle east people are laid back and not advancing in this scientific field or produce technology even thou the Holy Quran teachs and tells us to excel in technology and science.

so we do KNOW, but dont WORK. which is fail and we are far behind west

  • @majormixer

sorry i forgot to add a Quote from your statement in your comment for my 2 recent replies to you.

"The evolution of humanity is being compromised by religious fanatics of who may still think the Earth is flat !

We should think globally and not individually !"

i reacted to your statement above, and i hope we understand each other

  • @majormixer

Uh... just FYI, a significant portion of the Defense Budget is funding completely unnecessary cold-war era relics that have little to no strategic significance to the War on Terrorism.

Congressmen want to fund them anyways as opposed to the space program because it helps bring pork home to their districts.

The military budget = pork barrel spending in a big way.

  • @jmxgen Just look at c-130s. Air force is choking on them but the congress keeps buying new ones.

    Anyway, a little comparison:

US defense budget= 650 billion dollars

China defense budget= 100 billion dollars

What the hell is going on in there?

  • @bobafetthotmail

    "Anyway, a little comparison:

US defense budget= 650 billion dollars

China defense budget= 100 billion dollars

What the hell is going on in there?"

A mix of nationalism, corruption, and pork-barrel spending. Consequently, there is hundreds of billions of dollars wasted on stupid unnecessary programs that could be used to fund something that will actually do something beneficial for Americans and for humanity - like the space program.

  • @jmxgen

from an outsiders point of view, nationalism dosnt actually equate that much to defence spending in the US, it would instead seem that defence spending precedes any amount of(if short lived) nationalism.

granted, the western world DID NOT need those damn wars, i mean, trillions to kill some brown people living in 3rd world countries, or (cheapest realistic expectation) 80billion to throw some humans at mars.

yeah, I'm sure things that one day we'll sort it out.

    that, or the chinese do.

  • Comment removed

  • @jmxgen Im personally agree with that!

  • @jmxgen yeah... rather than war and other stupid stuff that just destroys

  • @majormixer ya!

  • @majormixer

I really think the lack of a cold war rival is the primary reason that this got cancelled

  • @majormixer What do you mean "THINK the earth is flat"? The earth IS flat..! All those Google Earth images are done with Photoshop and Industrial Light and Magic by that infidel George Lucas or that Jew, Steven Spielberg. When we take over it will be Hijabs and prayer mats for everybody! How do you expect Allah's servants to face Mecca when they are millions of miles away in space..? NO infidel, we were never meant to go into the realm of Allah. We are insulting God. Death to all unbelievers!

  • Comment removed

  • @majormixer :Isn't there any reasons for terrorism?Don't you think we should maybe rethink are relations with poor countries and maybe understand that inequalities are responsable for most of the tensions we are witnessing today?and how wouyld you feel if you war in my country (Malawi) looking at how america is spending billions to go on a planet will in my village the life expenctency is of 37 years old and 3 kids out of 5 die before reaching the age of five....you said it;THINK GLOBALLY

  • @majormixer

I think "we" (or those that agree upon it and fight for it or patrionize it) that say they are the terrorists (the islami middle eastern folks) while we killed a 300fold of casualties upon them then whole 9/11, and military casualties caused upon us.

The casualties of 9/11 are mourned about while the amount and damage of casualties of that event equals a planet within a universe within a galaxy within a star system thats damaged among the full damange that we caused to them.

  • @majormixer

Lets just say i find it theirfore very hypocrite to say that terrorist ruins it for us while its our own government that ruins it for us by persuing terrorist and failing to self reflect and see we do much worse things under the definition of terror,

and blaming others must be done, surely. But blame your own government instead. They decided to use the trillions of bucks to go to war instead of investing education and spacetravel. The "terrorists" are just victims.

  • @majormixer so am i

  • Obama didn't cancel the program but he might has well have. He reduced the budget for it. It might not be over yet guys.

  • No Obama has cancelled the program. The money for it in the FY2011 budget is to close the contracts and make a smooth transition.

  • I hear Obama killed this off. America is fast turning into Great Britain MK II.

  • As we already know the project was canceled due to Change and polices that made this dead on arrival only private enterprise could only do this. back in the day the USA was against the CCCP and look the USA won that was a race to space and the goal was the moon now it's just for kicks what some would say and it's sad.

  • We miss you GW...:)

  • China or Russia both countries are going to take the control of the space

USA want to put the man on mars but 2030 or 2040 WTF we need to go on the 2015s

  • Obama is such a drag on this country..:(

Image this idiot running the country during the cold war or the space race??:(

    Is it 2012 YET???

  • im disgusted by this decision to cancel the moon mission, and also surprised by aldrins statement. now i can only see china becoming the leaders of the space program, this is what you get if you vote in a pathetic foreigner with nothing but contempt for you all, send your kids to afghan and bring them back limbless, that is the only program your going to get,...indefinatly because you cant get rid of this pariah now

  • Comment removed

  • Because of Obama thinking screw all the important stuff in America, America is beginning to suck, I'm glad we'll live past 2012 because he'll be the second president to have NO votes.

  • But no US administration can afford to fund a space program such as this when they are already funding two wars in the midst of a global recession.

  • doesn't the government make money?

You know, actually make it in a factory?

  • Yeah if only it was that simple. No federal government can spend more money than it's income. You could print all the paper notes that you want, but eventually your economy will be in ruins as the value of your money becomes worthless. Unfortunately countries can not simply print as much money as they want. Economies don't work that way.

  • I wish it did.

  • Yeah i know don't we all. (:

  • Yes.

  • Countries can't print as much money as they want...on this you are right. But that doesn't apply to the U.S. There is no deficit...there never was. The economy is all fake, and we are just hamsters running on a perpetual wheel.

  • I can't agree with that. If what you're saying was true then the collapse of the US housing market would have been retified overnight. Sure, the US government can print as much money as it wants - all governments can. But they all have to justify their expenditure. And at the end of the day, if there was no limits to an economy, then there would be no economy at all.

  • The U.S. government doesn't have to justify anything to anyone. Our Congress has been hijacked, and they just take up space. The U.S. controls the money supply for the world, and thus can do as it pleases, but only temporarily...China is building up quickly, with real resources, industry, and power.

  • Comment removed

  • No. I'm not suggesting anything. I'm telling you the U.S. prints all the money it needs, whenever it wants to. Fiscal policy is made to look complicated to confuse us. I am not confused. You sound pretty smart. And everything I am telling you is probably a shock to you. But it's very true.

  • US government doesn't, the federal reserve does. it doesn't make much difference cos they're pretty good mates, but it means that inflation isn't directly controlled by the government.

  • Hahahaha You are right!!! I keep telling that to people....our government just prints cash...the deficit is not real. The so-called economy is fake. It's all an illusion, slight of hand stuff, a trick. Hahahaha The joke is on all of us......

  • VIETNAM,was of a far greater scale than these two poxy so called wars, and they still managed it,better menn in them days not the bunch of sissy boys runnin the show today

  • Well there's no point comparing two different periods in American history when it comes to government expenditure. The fact of the matter is that the federal budjet is strecthed to the limit.

  • i dont belive that, the program costs each individual about 10 cents

  • As it stands now, I will have been born, lived, and died in an America that has and will not put a human back on the moon or beyond. The Constellation project was a great step forward, but now that it's canceled I just feel cheated. If we aren't going to be out on the edge, the leaders of exploration, we should just get out of the way of those countries that will inherit both the leadership of the world and have the strength of convictions to move forward rather than stagnate.

  • the programm canseled...

  • I felt great sorrow at hearing the news. Obama has just made the biggest mistake for human research that will carry consequences for at least the next 50 years.

The moon would have allowed us to send heavier loads on Mars, therefore allowing us to extend each mission over there

Sending humans on Mars will now be close to impossible for the next 80 years at least. The weight of construction materials, food, water, and other supplies needed for a living are simply too great to launch from Earth

  • It's all finished. The great mr Obama has cancelled Constellation program. No more space dreams, no more human on moon and on mars. 10 years of studies, money, tests, work right in the garbage. Thank you mr monkey, thank you for the stop about human exploration in the space.

  • @aldoskyz8 Constellation was a huge money sink, unnecessarily wasting money when there were better alternatives (DIRECT).

  • @bobafetthotmail money was already spent. This is "money sink" to delete an already done work.

And space exploration is not just a thing. It's the human future.

  • @aldoskyz8 The money spent was just the beginning, Ares 1 slammed into cost overruns due to vibrations and Ares 5 was a so different design from space shuttle hardware that it would have required much more money and time to become reality.

They pulled the plug before wasting other billions in reinventing the wheel.

As I said, I prefer DIRECT, with Jupiter rockets. It recycles most space shuttle hardware without any big modification (i.e. needs less money and time), and can reach moon as well.

  • @aldoskyz8 Amen! Well said indeed!

  • @aldoskyz8 This retro spam can was not an advancement. It was a return to Apollo.

A re enactment of past glories with the same expensive way to travel.

  • true

  • @Cosmored: How many times do you idiots need to get the proof handed to you before you get that we DID go to the moon?

  • @Helge129 Well, whether we did or not, we are not doing it now. Obama just cancelled the entire Constellation project.

  • @crocfme: Source?

  • @Helge129 I saw it on yahoo's newsite thismorning, had trouble finding reference to it anywhere else, but late today I found it as a minor article on CNN news site. Nothing about it on NASA's homepage tho.....maybe it's an erroneous report? Hope so.

  • @crocfme: Oh, that one...it said

  • @crocfme: Ignore my last comment, YT being ghey...

Anyway, what I wanted to say:

Oh, that one...it said Obama MIGHT cancel the Constellation program...

  • I love the idea of going to space. But they need to privatize the whole program and do it with private donations and sponsors, etc...not keep hitting the taxpayers.

  • We need more people like B. Routan :p
