I'm with you too greenteababy19,parents should speak the language when they are together with their kids. Its very hard on the kids when reach teens and can't speak their language(identity time).Anyway, how did you learn pohnpeian when your parents are not even mein pohnpei?

i find it so sad that so many pohnpeians who are in the US CHOOSE not to practice their native tongue. too americanized, i say. Both my parents are not Pohnpeians, yet we all speak Pohnpeian. LOL... and i'm hell proud of that :)

My father is getting real old so I would like to make one for him and I make music but don't speak the language I was born and raised in California...So I would like to make a song if anyone would take the time... @ThatAndroidGlitch Does your father speak or understand Pohnpeian? If so, I would greatly suggest that you start learning the language yourself. It's not a very complicated or difficult language to learn.
