We learned this in my French class at Queen's College, in Barbados, in the 80's. Lovely music and words in either language! Un flambeau, Jeanette, Isabelle...
"Scary how good they can be on the outside and yet be full of doctrines of devils"
"A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit." Now go and think who it was that told you that. If you need a hint, Matt 7:18
Kosher Jews torture animals. Jared Lee Loughner brought a torch for them. How come the media never interview the ever-growing Jared Loughner Fan Club?
Very nice voices and instrumentals but a little faster than I'm accustomed to. Our choir performed this and I was wondering why I hear different lyrics in the line, "Ah, Ah how radiant is the mother, ah, ah how angelic the child". Like this performance, I've also heard the word beautiful replace both radiant and angelic in other versions too.

Probably because of the Mormon penchant for changing lyrics that aren't doctrinally sound. It is inconsistent with the idea of Christ's divinity to describe the baby Jesus as merely angelic, for example.
This song is absolutely gorgeous!! I wish we could sing this in my choir. However, there is one song we are singing right now that is absolutely beautiful - O Bambino.
@Skelexy15 the MoTab always presents one of the best Christmas concerts of the year. I never miss it on PBS. This is an outstanding version of one of my favorite Christmas carols. Thanks for posting

Okay, so last Christmas I watched this amazing video, I commented then. Today I somehow got this song in my head and looked it up again. To my surprise I find my comment, intended as a compliment for this choir, incurred the displeasure of at least 3 people
1st-If you don't like them then why are you watching this?
2nd Wilberg didn't write it, he arranged it, it's a 400yr old French song
3rd-I'm certain he would gladly share credit with his beloved choir
There Brothers lyrics of this version? Because I really like:) certainly not to speak English

this is my favorite instrumental song. Our band is playing a mix that starts with this then changes to "Fum, fum, Fum".

Those dancers need help coordinating with each other... It would have looked really nice if they were all in sync on the turns and stuff.

I love Christmas music year 'round.
And this particular song, in all its forms (ref: Mannheim Steamroller) is a fantastic and wonderful part of the milieu.
This particular version is so lush and textured it has wings of its own to let the spirit fly!
freedumb2003 1 year ago 3
I love this arrangement, written as a processional! Very joyful!
I heard a second arrangement, also by Mack Wilberg, written to be sung with solo voice, that is somewhat slower. It is also beautiful!
The dancers from the Univ of Utah Ballet school really add some life to it, too! Great!
People who were present when it was filmed tell me the power of the experience was palpable!

Ma chanson (religieuse) preférée. Mendiants d'espérance est en deuxième; mais pas par beacoup.
À vrai dire, cette chanson est meilleure en français. De plus, c'était trop vite pour mon goût.
To tell the truth, this song is better in french and was too fast for my taste...

P.S. I will agree that Mack Wilberg is an absolute genius and also concur with Ayowta about the bassoon.
As for my "repliers" from last year's comment, you remind me of a line in Wizard of Oz:
Dorothy- How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow- I don't know, but some people people with out brains do an awful lot of talking. Don't they?
Okay, now I'm just being mean...not to mention I'm doing an awful lot of talking...
so...
Merry Christmas!

Yes at 0:05 bassoons are underrated instruments and need to be more well recognized!

Cool, I love that part.

Too true, symplemplam. Mack Wilberg writes incredible music. I can't believe that I'm in a choir that gets to do his version of Come Thou Fount.
