  • Few people in the history of broadcast journalism -- save maybe Edward R. Murrow -- painted the kind of "word pictures" as did Harvey. Many of us in radio think the medium died with him. Dennis

  • Stories are good in their time and place, but there comes a time for serious coherent thought and real-time acceptance and action on unpleasant situations. Paul Harvey made us COMFORTABLE. We listened, and now many of us are in a very UNCOMFORTABLE situation. Sometimes, stories just don't work anymore.

  • I've listened tohim in Treynor,IA and later at AFN-Europe,Miss him.

  • Paul, You were my all time favorite journalist. Even above Kronkite!

  • @texonthebeach I would certainly hope so, as Kronkite is a joke, and always has been. One of the most biased journalists of all time.

  • Yes, Paul Harvey is an icon who will live forever in my mind. I think part of his command of the English language was his ability to keep one idea per sentence. And never saying "um" . He was fluid in his speech.

  • And may his stories come back to life with his passing. Good day Mr. Harvey.
