  • @lostintravise I try to get my birds to do this! I must look and sound insane, but I will throw my head from side to side and make that high-pitched squeal, and it's usually hit or miss. They'll either sit there looking at me or they will start to do it too. I'm pretty sure this falls under the category of people who talk to their dogs like they understand them LOL!

  • @ everyone, thanks for the kind comments, and it's interesting how I have rarely read about birds exhibiting this specific behavior- usually it's your standard "when it's gonna bite, it does x, and when it wants to be picked up, it does y..." I did read that this may be some sort of courtship behavior. Also, my breeder seems to think that they do this when they are happy. When they engage in this behavior, it's like they are just "strutting." So I'll take it as a positive thing I guess :-)

  • haha, I love when my two do this.

  • @lostintravise my yellowside when I take her out too! very interesitng

  • beautiful bird

  • my Pineapple does that all the time... I think its like a dominance stance, not really an aggressive gesture, just "this is my territory and don't forget it" kind of thing...

  • @217cmiller I think she may even be doing it in some of my vids on here....
