it sounds like a bussiness issue. somebody wants to make money by meat and somebody wants to make money by whale watching. they can talk to resolve the issue. why does australia behave like s hypocrite?

whaling countries are outnumbered by anti-whaling countries. that is correct and that is why iwc is not working. whaling countries do not need to be there but most of them are there because:

1. be deplomatic and nice

2. as you said, some countries (actually us) threatened whaling countries (actually japan)

don't you feel anything?

btw you keep saying japan. i wonder what you think about other whaling countries. i assume you are from australia. is is racism?

Calling me racist now. I don't like when some one implies racism. My family lives in Japan, so get over yourself and stop making assumptions.

If you even looked at my website you'll realise WAW is aiming towards Iceland, Norway and Japan. As for people focusing on japan more its just not true, they are infact focusing on ANTARTICA more. Hunting whale is one thing, but in the only true remaining land in the world is another.

i do no think where your family lives means anything for whaling or anti-whaling or even racism but i feel you insist you are not a racist. that is good. at least we can continue to talk. i just suggest you that you should say whaling countries instead of japan. otherwise i smell lots of racism. i hesitate to visit your website even though i do not know where it is. :-)

You got that right, racism causes nothing but trouble. My relatives are infact japanese, so of course i am not gonig to be racist to them.

When refering to antartic whaling, I'll still continue to say "Japan", as they are the ones doing it - not norway or iceland.

As for calling australia racist, i strongly disagree. we are very multicultural and do have clashs. But we are made up of many and we are all strong together. We also have a large group of japanese prefering to live in australia. We don't have selective signs on restaurants or even our RSL club (vetrens), australia excepts anyone and if u ask any refugee from asian countries they would say they love australia for giving them a second go at life.

Even if Australia was the most racist country in the whole world and does so many illegal operations... doesn't mean japan can get away with illegal acts in a protected area.

you yourself should know about iwc. iwc was for whaling countries, not anti-whaling countries. then it was changed when anti-whaling countries joined and used it for politics. i have no idea why iwc allowed anti-whaling countries to join to the whaling organization. i know japan also used those landlocked countries. that was how iwc got not functional. they just kept having hatred voting until now but now they are trying to resolve issues and make the meeting functional except australia.

lol.. Australia was the ones who propose the restructure of ther IWC. They are the ones who wanted change.

So lets get this right IWC is against antartic whaling, the European Commission (whole of europe) is against japan, UN asked for illegal whale trade to stop, USA has threatened export and import bans, ATS is against whaling in its protected waters... hmmm japan really likes making people hate them

when a commerial hunt of endangered wild kangaroos/cows/chickens happens in japan territory over the other side of the world in a protected sanutary against a global ban.... then you can use this excuse.

btw if u had any knowledge you would know its illegal to kill an animal here in australia, we have somthing called animal rights, maybe japan should read them.

As for our farmed food, they are bred for eating and dont have an impact to its enviroment, they are not endangered like fin whales, there is no global ban against it, its done on OUR soils not in a protected sanutary in antartica againt a interntional protection treaty nor do we illegal trade our farmed foods like japan

LOL even the japanese ICR website say they hunt endangered fin whales. Maybe you should go read that site to actually see what they are doing.

As for your first comment, i was refering to kangaroos etc, but if you wish to go on about antartica... its australian terrority under the ATS, NZ and France threatened japan not to enter their claims or physical force would be used, so now they just stay in Aus. You should be actually thanking us for not being aggressive like other nations of the ATS.

Now I know I know... you don't accept the ATS. so then if you don't accept that, Japan actually signed the IWC whale sanutary in ATS reign. So take your pick what to choose either Australian Territory or IWC whale Sanutary? doesn't matter really japan has been proven by theinternational court as illegal operations

i am not 100% sure what ats means but i guess it is that australia insists some part of antarctica is australian territory. if it is the case, of course i do not support it. i do not think any other countries support it. i repeat any other counries suppots australia own any part of antarctica. if australian anti-whaling policy is based on ats (or whatever it is called), it is much bigger issue than anti-whaling.
