  • aaaw she's such a sweetheart

  • How do you keep a dry eye? For the 3 'dislikes'... F-off!

  • just by bein burnt u r bein raceist and I thnk u shud b put in jail 4 bein raceist

  • so...

    they gave her a wig.

  • Very nice that the wig can seal on nice and tight!

  • I think it's fucked up that the moral of this story is that this beautiful (even bald) young child needs a 3500 dollar wig to feel she can be worthy of being accepted by a cruel world that places so much emphasis on outward beauty. It's sad that she can't be accepted until she gets a wig. What if her entire face was burned off? What then? Should they have completely written her off? I'm glad for her wig but I'm disgusted with society.

  • @PirateEyepatch Very well said.

  • Im so happy for her!! That hair is even better than mine!!

  • she's a beautiful girl and I think it's a good thing she was only 2.5 months old when she was burned. at least she doesnt remember the horrific pain. Unfortunately, it also means she's had to struggle with this almost her entire life.

  • God bless you little girl.

  • I can't believe that I almost dropped a tear to this video, i feel sorry for her

  • Without the wig,she is still beautiful.

  • She has nicer "hair" than I do!

  • Awe omg this is adorable. and I actually thought she was cute even before the wig :)

  • Guess you are CLUELESS to what I'm talking about!!!

  • shes pretty fit with her wig on

  • Jesus Christ, at first glance I thought she was a 40-year-old guy.

Here's hoping those new stem cell and organ-growing technologies they've been talking about on 60 Minutes pan out, for her sake.

  • this made me smile(:

  • Brittany's smile is just as beautiful without the wig!!! I hope she enjoys the new look anyhow. We all should have the chance to experiment with different looks.

  • All this does is show how shallow society really is

  • She's got a really pretty face.

  • This is a heartwarming story and I'm proud for the girl for standing up for what she wants.

  • Britney, I understand you want to feel good about yourself and that's great - nothing wrong with that. But someday you may want to ask yourself what kind of people would want to be your friends only because you have a head of hair. Just remember - you're beautiful as is!

  • @norwegcat Well said! I think it's sad that this beautiful child will now happily become friends with the same creeps who laughed at her when she had no hair. A true friend will love her for herself, despite any deformity. This is a feel good story with little substance. It's great she got her wig and doesn't have to feel so self conscious but it proves something very disgusting about society, that we need to be beautiful to be accepted by the "normal" people.

  • "I whip my hair back n' forth."

  • i think she's pretty (:

  • Man.... Now i feel like an asshole for thinking she was a guy in the thumbtag

  • She got burned when she was two. Why did it take them nine years to get her a wig?

  • @lamagrank Wigs are REALLY expensive-like thousands of dollars expensive. They had to pay for all those medical bills as well as well as her not having a father. To that day they still couldn't afford it-it was done free of charge.

  • @lamagrank Point

  • wow little girl 1 - my cynical nature 0

  • she is pretty cute

  • thumb up if u smiled when she got hair!

  • Unfortunately, society creates a situation where she has to feel ugly. Otherwise, what kind of consumers would we be if we were actually satisfied with ourselves?

  • @xxxriotxxx EXACTLY! Society is waaay too focused on surgery (not that it shouldn't be done where possible) for burn victims: it's made to be the only option. What about people who can't have anything done to help their burns? Do they just have to live "ugly"? Why can't someone launch a beauty/fashion magazine using victims with scars of this sort? Why is society so obsessed with perfection?

  • Here's what I do not understand!

With tufts of hair on the back and right side of her scalp, why doesn't she just go to "Bosley Medical Center?"

"Bosley Medical Center" helps people who want their hair back by using "graft transplants"- the patient's own hair is taken from the scalp and reimplanted into the bald part(s) of the head, which keeps growing back!

Most of the technology, which evolved in our world, is not being used in a smart way!

Tis a sad existence for all of us!

  • @anatheistmyself because that skin on her head isn't made to grow hair, it's grafted from another part of body that wasn't effected or a donor. it's just there so that she doesn't have to walk around with ugly burns on her scalp.

  • @anatheistmyself dude there isint enuf tuffs to make a full head of hair now is there you can see that cant you

  • this is so sad :(.

  • why doesn't she just wear a wig?

  • dont she have the most honest careing eyes you ever seen

  • They treated her just like she belonged. Like she didn't before?

  • @CHASEinurFACE Exactly. It makes you wonder what this News program would have thought of her beauty if she hadn't go the wig.

  • Why not bossly?

  • you don't need it sweetheart you come to learn that people can be shallow and the only ones worth knowing are the ones that like you no matter how you look. if it makes you feel better, thats all good. but i hope you find true friends in your life.

  • If those kids who made fun of her suddenly start liking her just because she has hair, she should not have anything to do with them!

  • she is quite gorgeous actually....

  • I thought that was a pretty boy before watching the clip. Short hair'd look good on her.

  • poor girl, noone should ever make fun of her for hair! thats retarded. i hope shes having an amazing life :)

  • she doesn't look too bad, she's just bald

  • If i saw someone makung fun of her for that i wouldve beat the fuck outta em! Some people can be fuckin ass lickers....

  • Took that long for someone to donate a wig for her, that is the really sad part. They should give her 10 wigs..... I would if I had money.

  • GOD BLESS YOU, BRITTANY, you're beautiful! My best wishes to you for a truly wonderful, happy life.

  • @TheOrganiston9th "god bless you"??!! yeah "god" sure did bless her

  • @TrollawayCapn Oh come now you are the type to blame everything on God aren't you...

  • omg i just cried tears of joy im so happy for this girl :)

  • Im really happy for that little girl, she looks really good :D

  • It sort of seems mocking to play that "i feel pretty" its really....condescending? I can't think of the word I need here..but it feels weird to play that

  • @jupiter784 matter of perspective

  • Though I am truly glad that this girl can have the possibility of being happy again. what about the other burn victims......? fuck this society for placing so got damn importance on the flesh. we all look the same underneath be it ugly or pretty.....

  • @Bralidiroe Exactly! The answer shouldn't be a wig or cosmetic reconstruction (I'm not saying not to have those at all) it should be a change in the way people view beauty. What's the point in being blessed with life over death when you are thrust into a world that think's you are second class because you are burned? Could society put this girl on the cover of a magazine without her wig? It should, and the day it does we'll know we've changed for the better.

  • @Bralidiroe Agreed, here's a fun fact: The average person has 30 pounds of undigested feces in them. So, everyone is literally full of shit.

  • @Slumminbum personally i dont eat (or digest) feces. not in such quantity anyway.

  • She should call that DR. D. Bradley from the Commercials for bald people, To implat Those hair folicle thingies!

  • brainzrgood4u SHUT THE MOTHER FUCK UP YOU STUPID MONTHER FUCKER SHE IS LIKE A NORMAL GIRL YOU ARE A STUPID PIG GET THE FUCK OUT DONT COME HERE A AGAIN

  • SMILES

  • Yay, now she can be a stupid, shallow teenage girl, just like the rest of them :)

  • That is just plain rude, Brainz. She never will do anything to you.

It's not like she's rude to anyone else.

    I hope god punishes you.

  • Oh, stop your whining. There was nothing wrong with her to begin with. It's the people who looked down on her who should be punished. God let that happen to her for a reason. Now she'll never know what that reason was. So don't look down on me, you self righteous bitch.

  • you fucking bitch god didnt do that she it just happend to her dont be going oh she aint gonna learn anything but now she looks normal we should burn you on a stick

  • omg that's so great good for her =)

  • God Bless this girl. She is an inspiration and very brave.

  • Well, it just proves how mean people are. I barely have any friends at all.

  • This video touched my heart. I started to cry on the Maury part.

  • It is kind of ironic, however, that when she returned back to her friends and classmates, that they treat her normal only after she looks like everyone else with her hair.

Before that, people ridiculed her. How sad...

  • She is a beautiful person even without the hair. It's amazing how realistic these hair prostheses are getting these days...

  • "A visit to new york changed her life"

So all the peddlers, homeless people, retail scammers, east coast assholes and guidos got to her, eh? I'm glad she can remain so positive among such adversity!

  • Good point there.

  • that poor child,my gods blessing shed down on her :' )

  • Bless your heart you keep your head up and be proud of who you are. You are an inspiration for all who face adversity and overcome.

  • God I'm so happy for her :) A young life such as her's she needs this kind of deal. But yeah true beauty can only be won by what you do.

  • wow - that's really great - i feel so happy for her now... if i was one of her classmates, I would be one of her friends weather she had hair or not...the beauty of a person comes from the inside, not from the outside...(well, maybe a little. But that's not all the beauty in a person...)

  • Hey girl people will like you just keep believing in yourself. we all like you.

  • she's cute :)

  • Poor little thing - God bless her :)

  • In school I was a kid who never belonged to a specific clique because I had more than one "label" (I was a shy-artistic-jockette). So looking back, knowing what I was like at this girl's age, I would've been her friend hair or no hair. I wasn't about to let anyone tell me who my friends could be. And if they tried, they got told off big time!

  • Pfff, okay, lame insult attempt.

I was confident and had a good reputation (still am & still do, can you say the same about yourself?)...two things that perhaps you know very little about? :o)

  • roflmao your a douche dude haha

  • Clasmates making the poor girl life evewn worse... Children in school, at least some of them, are the most sarcastic evil creatures on Earth.

  • It's the parents they learn that kind of stuff from you know.

  • Probably you are right.

  • I agree. But in all fairness to them, sometimes they react to something like this out of shock and fear.

Inclusion is a good idea, but I think that before a student with burn scars (or any other type of disfigurement) is thrown head first into school system, the other students need to know a little about whats going on. This way, they're more likely to be kind, not cruel.

  • Yeah, your comment makes sense. Schools usually makes nothing to create a good relations between students.

Public schools are negligent, cause they never get fired for bad work. And particular schools usually only care about the money.

  • What difference hair makes.

  • Wow! That is great news. So glad to see this and hope her future is much brighter now.

    God Bless little Brittany.

    Awesome.

  • Hi Briteny It is so cool that you have hair now. I hope that when you go back to school you will make a lot of new friends.

  • God bless her.
