I know it's the song's choice but the point I'm driving at is the soldier always dies.Examples being "Thinking of You" by Katey Perry,and "The Ghost of You" by My Chemical Romance....."Wake Me up When September Ends" by Green Day not only has a long name lol,but has a very indiferant ending.....the only happy ending is "When Your Gone" by Avril Lavigne so thats 3 for 4 un-happy ending military couple songs! It's madness!

I guess in this respect the singers and song writers want to remind everyone that there aren't always happy endings in life. Still this song and 8th of November by BIg and Rich give me chills. And hey the guy who the song 8th of November is about doesn't die either so 2 for 5 Of course it's not about a couple.

true,he doesn't.But that was based off a real life battle.Also like you said it's not a couple song,it's about a soldier and his fellow soldiers getting ambushed by an overwhelming force and their love for eachother.Good song
