my hackintosh had a kernel panic after i did the update. i used something with pre-patches, then the actual update, the post patches. before i could get to the post patches

came up on the screen. and it wouldnt go away. then i forced a shutdown and rebooted in verbose ( i always use verbose) and the last words i remeber reading were "kernel panic" and there were other words..
that is true macs dont take up as much cpu with there programs as windows it is a lot safer with security and they cant crash as easily but i love both pc and mac
actually no they're not. You're an idiot. It's Hackintosh, AND not all PCs can support Mac OS X86 with their hardware. only limited choices are available to use freely such as QE/CI I doubt you even know what that is.

I've got a 2.0 GHz Pentium IV processsor and 512 MB RAM and I'm not that satisfied. The sound works, but I am not sure about burning (I have not tested), but sometimes it freezes (which is weird to say coming from a REAL mac user). I only did this to test it out for the first time.
Thats just one of the advantages of the Mac OS. It is very light on resources, and incredibly efficient. My father's PC has two gigs and when idle, Vista uses almost 1.1 gigs doing nothing. My Powerbook has only 0.5 gigs and handles having Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Safari open and working easily.

different arcutecture mate do some research. even if it was faster chip the mac software would be faster than windows/linux

Yikes upgrade that thing to 1GB of RAM. That 3.8GHz Processor needs some more RAM. If you put that up to 1GB, that machine will FLY.

wth 512 MB i have an AMD Atholon X2 3800+ with Vista Home Premium and I was not happy with the speed of the OS or my games until I got 2GB of RAM.
