does no one see it's a replaces the FAILED d40x. it's virtually the same camera, with SLIGHTLY different features (e.g. facial recognition sensor that turns off the screen, or the inclusion of the VR lens, or even the movie capture mode).
save yourself a couple of hundred dollars, and buy the D40 instead. those extra 4 megapixels don't do much for the amount of extra money the cost. keep in mind that a 3 megapixel photo is wonderful for a full page photo.
it's smarter to save the 200-250 dollars by buying the d40 and spending it on the 55-200 VR (or perhaps the 50mm f/1.8). unless of course you truly need the extra 4 megapixels, which the people being marketed to by the d40/d60, do not. but if it were the case, you might as well step up to the d80/d300, both of which are far more capable cameras.
nikon D 60 has been working excellently for me for a long time now.

what a compelling argument you present.

ironically, your user name is very clever:
you truly are an idiot gone wild.
as a sidenote, megapixels don't make you a better photographer. furthermore, i was not oblivious to anything.
