Question; I have a 97 2.0 Golf with a similar problem. I flushed the radiator, replaced the thermostat, timing belt, leaky water pump, leaky overflow ball, and upper radiator hose. It ran great for 3-months. Last week we replaced both control arms & drivers side ball joint. While test-driving, it over heated after a 1-mile. I replaced spongy factory upper radiator hose. Any ideas?
